Subject: "Stargate" - The Pentagon's cover up of the missile test fraud

The recent "successful" test of the missile defence sieve was a sham --

"A U.S. anti-missile weapon was able to destroy a test warhead in space on July 14 partly because
a beacon on the target signaled its location during much of the flight, defense officials said on Friday.
The officials confirmed a report by Defense Week that the ''hit-to-kill'' weapon was guided to the
vicinity of the speeding warhead high over the Pacific Ocean by signals from the electronic beacon
in a successful, highly publicized test."

This comes to light at the same time as a report in yesterday's NYT about the Pentagon's efforts to
intimidate an MIT scientist who uncovered fraud in a previous test of the not inexpensive system:

"A leading critic of the military's missile defense testing program has accused the Pentagon of trying to
silence him and intimidate his employer, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, by investigating him
for disseminating classified documents. But after Dr. Postol began distributing the report last year,
the Pentagon determined that it contained secret information. This month, Defense Department investigators
asked M.I.T. officials to stop Dr. Postol from disseminating that information and to confiscate the document from him."

Are you curious what this allegedly classified document reveals? You had better grab this letter and
attachments today, before the missile snake oil salesmen have it pulled from the web as "damaging to
their credibility." or whatever daft phrase Antonin Scalia chooses to use for such cover-ups.

"... the IFT-1A flight test resulted in the defense system always wrongly identifying a partially inflated
balloon as the mock warhead. The team performing the post-flight analysis dealt with this failure by
simply removing the balloon from the data, as if it was never there.

Even after removing the balloon, the post-flight experimental data still showed that two other benign objects
were brighter than the warhead and therefore were judged more likely to be the mock warhead. The team
performing the post-flight experiment analysis dealt with this outcome by arbitrarily rejecting the data from
the time interval where the two other objects were brighter, and instead chose without technical reason a
second time period where the warhead was brighter due to the accident of its spatial orientation.

This elaborate hoax was then screened by describing this tampering with the data and analysis in terms
of misleading, confusing, and self contradictory language ? to create the false impression that the results
were supported by well established scientific methods."

Lying to the public about the outcome of a test on the missile inteceptor does not sound like
"classified information". A better name would be "evidence of fraud". To get the Republican's to
investigate this gross abuse of public funds abd egregious lying, the target missile will have to be
renamed "Clinton's Penis".
