Scared in NYC
   by  msthing912@yahoo.com

Bartcop,

Things are still pretty crazy in NYC. There have been bomb threats today at LaGuardia airport and Macy's
Herald Square, as well as at the Empire State Building last night. Each place has been evacuated.
All of New York is on edge.

I know we should stand behind the president at times like these but I just can't bring myself to do that.
His speeches have been half-assed, and the excuse of the target really being the White House is
unbelievable for me. He talked about this being an assault on all freedom loving people and an attack on
democracy itself. Well, isn't his presidency just that? Who is he to pass judgment on being an attack on
democracy? His tenure in the presidency is an attack on democracy!

My company is the 4th largest tenant of WTC. Half of our employees from that office are still missing.
The other half have been relocated here to our midtown office at Rockefeller center area. The mood is
quite solemn, and people start crying off and on.  I watched in horror from the window of our 29th floor
as the second plane hit the WTC south tower, then the south tower collapsing, then the north. We stood there
together all in shock, and unable to do anything about it. I walked over the 59th Street bridge to get home
to Queens from Manhattan. There were thousands of us crossing over. We looked like refugees fleeing from a
war-torn area. The whole experience has been like watching a bad movie.

I hate Guiliani, but he has been more of a leader in these past days than Shrub could ever hope to be.
If I had to have a republican in presidential office, it would be someone more like our mayor and less
like our current (p)resident. More importantly, though, you should read this editorial.
I know you are probably getting a lot of requests to read this or that. But this is, by far, the best analysis
of the situation I have seen anywhere on the web. Check it out:

Pray for us out here. Maybe it's just the fear talking,
but part of me feels like this isn't over yet in terms of the attacks in NYC.
