Tally Briggs/Actress at Large

VCR ALERT - Saturday, November 18th

I may be wrong, but isn’t it November? Isn’t it SWEEPS????
Then why the hell isn’t there anything on TV tonight?????

Let’s take a look at the listings shall we?

Starting with the ALMIGHTY BROADCAST channels:

CBS: That’s Life (haven’t had time, supposed to be good) followed by Walker, Texas Ranger. -
Even though most of my family is from there, Texas anything doesn’t really sit well with me right
now (sorry Chuck - I did a play with his sister-in-law once, who by the way is one of the dearest &
funniest women I’ve ever worked with.)

NBC: Twister. Ugh.

ABC: Seven. Wow, this is really a night for "uplifting" viewing isn’t it?

FOX: Cops, followed by Cops, followed by America’s Most Wanted. Think they’ll mention Lady
Katherine Harris Macbeth?

WB: Star Wars. As much as I think this is a masterpiece, life is too short & time is too precious to
watch this with commercials.

UPN: Boys on the Side. As much as I love Drew Barrymore and Whoopi Goldberg - again… life
is too short, etc. (see above)

So… onward to Cable:

Saturday is usually a big night on the premium movie channels…..but my digital company hasn’t
gotten around to putting any details into their online system so who knows…..

The only film I find remotely interesting is The Story of Us with Bruce Willis and Michelle Pfeiffer,
too bad I don’t have Showtime.

For those of you who are really bored TV LAND is having some kind of endless Gomer Pyle
marathon. he he - someone has a twisted sense of humor.

Here are my pics for the evening:

BSTRZ - American History X - One of the best and most important films made in the last ten
years. This should be required viewing in all Jr High & High Schools. Like Schindler’s List.

PBS: Buena Vista Social Club - About the Cuban band and the interesting Cuban music scene.
(gee, does that make me some kind of Castro lover?)

FOOD TV - (don’t laugh, I’m serious) Emeril - I love this guy! Followed by Good Eats - If you’ve
never seen this show, it can be pretty funny. And finally The Naked Chef - Cute young (can’t be
more than twelve) Brit in flashy, trendy cooking show with neuvo camera work. Sort of a 30 min
NYPD Blue-ish cooking show on the streets of London. But the guy is good. Ok, so I love food.
So?

Comedy Central - South Park - It’s FOURTH GRADE, PEOPLE!!!!

And of course there are endless possibilities for Saturday Night Live! A home run is always
possible. Hey, I can hope…..

Pretty long rant for not much on…… Thankfully I am going to a wedding.

GO BRUINS!

Until next we meet~
