"Superman" was the studio's big Christmas release.
The ads were out and the film was to open in a week.
The studio had in their hands every reel of the film except for the last,
which the Salkinds were still working on.

The studio head was sweating when he got the call from the Salkinds.
"We've got the last reel of 'Superman,' but there's a problem and we need another $10 million."

"What are you talking about?!" screamed the studio head.
"We've already paid for everything. Why on earth do you need another $10 million?"

"Because," said the Salkinds, "we've got the last reel of 'Superman'."

That night, the last reel of "Superman" and a suitcase with $10 million cash were exchanged at LAX.
