Sorry you couldn't stick around Bart, things are just getting interesting. I, too, have followed you since that fool-of-a-snake slithered into the Oval Office, and seldom missed an issue. Lots of laughs, when laughter was often hard to come by. Rock on!

First site i visited almost every day since i can remember. This sucks. The humor is the part I will remember the most. Didn't always agree 100% ( I think Don Julio is much tastier than Chinaco. Maybe I thought you were sometimes a little rough on my boy Barack, but you were always true to yourself. I feel like i did when Joe Strummer and Paul Wellstone died, guys I never met but am sure we would have been buds if we had. Mrs Bart, obvious through his writings the love he had for you, God (or whoever ) bless you. Again, this truly sucks.

To the hypocrites from DU. Especially Skinner. Allow me in the name of Bart to give you the finger and a big ole fuck You. I remember Bart having to ask readers to post on your hypocritical site because he was banned. I guess it's nice that you finally give homage to someone who wasn't good enough for you scum bags on a day to day basis. He was everything you will never be. Sorry but it needed said. I can't stand to see wimpy ass scumbags come crawling out from under their rocks and heaping praise like they were friends.

This website is what initially turned me on to political blogging and political websites. I discovered Bartcop in 2000 and it was my homepage for a long time. I would start my morning news routine by scrolling from the top of Bartcop to the bottom, and found links to so many awesome articles and news sites along the way. Finding a place to validate my anger over Bush and the war, and hearing Bart's sensible voice - he helped me feel sane in the face of so much political nonsense over the years the way Stewart and Colbert do now. I am so incredibly sad today, not only for Mrs Bartcop, but for our collective loss as well. I believe Bart's presence on the internet has been a vital launching point for many progressives, and he will not be forgotten! Live on Bart - we'll keep swinging the hammer - you taught us well!

For "an Okie with an IQ of 64," Ol' Bart always posted some of the most astute political analysis available anywhere. He put the credulous "pros" to shame.
He and his hammer will be missed.

Always enjoyed the hammer you swung in support of Progressive policies. You were one of a kind: a Liberal who wasn't afraid to fight back. We will miss you.
