Dear Mr. Cop,

Like many Americans, I am often victim of Nuclear Terror Panic Syndrome (a term I just coined).  
My case is mild, and only flares up during Osama's or Ayman's little fireside chats.  
Michael Scheuer, has made a career out of spreading Nuclear Panic.  The media appears 
hoodwinked by his "former CIA Agent" moniker, giving him lots of airtime for his rants, which are all the same:

1. Al Qaeda wants nukes
2. The Former Soviet Union has nukes for sale.
3. Bin Laden has retrieved Permission from some cleric to nuke the US.
4. Bin Laden has followed the usual Koranic route for offering a truce with the infidels before blowing them up.
5. Therefore we're all doomed.

He offers this up, even though there is no evidence of anyone actually buying a Soviet nuke 
(or whether there actually is such a thing as a "loose nuke").  He also ignores that whole nations 
have struggled to make their own low-yield-yet-really-heavy warheads.  Nevermind two-bit terror groups.

This is Scheuer's shtick and he's been spouting it ever since he had a book to promote.

Following is a link which to some extent debunks the nuclear terror myth.  
It is from a curious source, but it sounds more reasonable and logical than Mr Scheuer's speculative arguments.:

I am generally in awe of consortiumnews' articles, but they should be wary Mr. Scheuer.

Mike, you have confused me. 
Let's look at that list:

1. Al Qaeda wants nukes

Are you saying Al Qaeda does not want nukes?
Why kill 3,000 if you can kill 3 million?
 

2. The Former Soviet Union has nukes for sale.

Are you saying the former Soviet Union does not have nukes for sale?
That would mean all of those 15,000 (guessing) nukes were accounted for
by wise, accurate and honest military men in the former Soviet Union,
men who didn't need the millions a nuke would bring them.

I'm afraid I'd have to disagree with your positive assessment.

He doesn't need permission - did he get permission for 9-11?

To dupe his sheep, he would follow that plan, I'd think.

I'm not saying he's an expert, but John Kerry said he expects a nuclear attack on American soil
"in the near or very near future."    (Check Wolf the whore transcripts for the last Sunday in January 06.)
 

I confess, I didn't read your link.
But you'd need really, really solid proof to get me to agree that Robert Parry was acting irresponsibly.
