 Subject: pardons before conviction

 I've been trying to get folks interested in this for years.
 Any normal definition of a pardon is a pardon given to a convicted criminal.

 Just like the amnesty hearings in South Africa, the society can recover from crimes
 that are pardoned but revealed.  But these folks have made it so that you can be
 pardoned for something that will never be revealed.

 Can't there be a case taken through the courts that will clarify that a pardon can
 only be awarded after conviction?  Otherwise, what's to prevent off-the-record
 encouragement to criminality followed by promised, but never explained pardons?
 How can anyone be prosecuted under the law if they can never be investigated by the law?

 I just finished cutting the raw version of Next Plane to Gitmo (a song I wrote),
 and I'm gonna get Joey Vee to add a couple of sound bites in the song to finish it off.
