Losing a War, Winning a Police State
  by Nat Parry

The NIE, representing the consensus view of 16 U.S. intelligence agencies, recognizes the obvious:
that the invasion of Iraq has spawned a new generation of Islamic extremists who are determined to
strike at the West, that Iraq has served as both a recruitment poster and a training ground for jihadists.

"The Iraq war has made the overall terrorism problem worse" since 9-11, summarized one U.S.
intelligence official in referring to the NIE, which was completed in April 2006. [NYT, Sept. 24, 2006]

But to many Americans, this conclusion comes as no surprise. Indeed, it was one of the central arguments
of the antiwar movement before the invasion more than three years ago, that an unprovoked invasion of Iraq
would inflame anti-Americanism and increase the terrorist threat at home and abroad.

Bart, I'd like to be listed on your blog list, and of course, do the same for you on my site.

I hope you find my comments of merit,

Thanks for your consideration,

The New York Times reports former President Bill Clinton "worked hard" to try to kill Osama.
Clinton states, "We contracted with people to kill him. I got closer to killing him than anybody's
gotten since...I did everything I thought I responsibly could."

These statements are as amazing and self-indicting as Bush's admission of rendering prisoners
to secret prisons which we operate in foreign lands.

There was a time when Clinton was a feel-your-pain (or intern) kind of guy, but now we hear
he "contracted with people."   And who were his peeps who were gonna execute this hit?
Did you talk with the Mafia, Bill?   Well, did ya, punk?

Jim, many of my readers will love your page.

"It's especially pathetic to see the Democratic leadership cede the moral high ground
to the Republican "rebels" and Christianity Today. You'd think showing strong opposition

Before the Plunge
 by William Rivers Pitt

I don't know if it was CNN or MSNBC or Fox, but some Republican shill was speaking
the same tired line of nonsense. "We're gonna secure and protect America ..." was what I heard
and then he was gone in a flurry of button-pounding, because I've heard too much of that noise already.

Secure and protect America? Yeah, bang-up job these folks have done so far.

"Spy Agencies Say Iraq War Worsens Terrorism Threat" read the headline a few days ago.
It seems the invasion and occupation of Iraq has spawned a new generation of radicalized men
and women willing to die for the privilege of taking American soldiers, or you, or me, with them.

The information contained in the newest National Intelligence Estimate, considered to be the most
authoritative report on the subject, was so unutterably damning that even the White House was
forced to cede the point. "It assesses that a variety of factors, in addition to Iraq, fuel the spread
of jihadism," said administration Tony Snow to reporters, "including longstanding social grievances,
slowness of the pace of reform, and the use of the Internet."

Subject: Arianna

I've never trusted her abrupt conversion, coming as it did on the heels of her disastrous,
some might say deranged obsession to offer up her gay husband (and his millions) to wingnuts.

I should know that story but I don't.

Failing miserably and pissing off the entire right wing establishment as she destroyed poor Mr. Ari,
Ari made Newt an offer that, it turned out, he could refuse.

The wingnuts kicked her to the curb and VOILA, she saw the light.  Which is why she's the best
right-wing progressive ever.  Poor progs, even a shabby, minor celebrity using them to shill her
assorted, self-promoting schticks, is better than no minor celebrity attention at all.

I wish Arianna was right, but when she's wrong, I feel the need to correct her.
She's a fighter, and I like that, she just wants to hang our front-runner.

Why I Hate the Clintons
  by Michael Hirsh (who?)

As is always the case with Bill Clinton, politics can't be too far from his considerations.
With Hillary expected to make a 2008 run, he and his wife have been going to great lengths
to neutralize what they see as the "vast right-wing conspiracy."  That has meant, for example,
winning over ex-GOP foes one by one, inviting Laura Bush to speak at his forum, and buddying up
to Rupert Murdoch. The charm campaign may also have been the reason for Bill deciding to
grant his first-ever interview to Fox Whore News.

Clearly, Clinton still has bitter feelings over the "fair and balanced" network's coverage of him
since Monica and impeachment trial. Chris Wallace seems to have caught the brunt of it.

Hey idiot - you still want to pretend there was no anti-Clinton conspiracy?
How did Paula Jones's lawyers end up working for Bush?

Are you trying to say that's just a coincidence?
And you write about politics for a whore magazine like Newsweek?

BTW, how big of a whore is Newsweek?
Look at their covers this week.

They REFUSE to tell the truth because the truth hurts their ally, Der Monkey.
They tell the truth around the world - but lie to us here at home.

Shame on Newsweek, the cowardly liars.

Oh yeah, drunk Bart is so much tougher then Kerry, who actually ran and beat Bush.
And is fighting back every day.

To bad Bart is too drunk to read it.
Great job, Coward?

Dude, in another time, another place, you and me coulda been allies.
Yes, I enjoy a cocktail after dinner, but *I* didn't take weeks off during the summer of 2004.
*I* didn't issue orders to "Hold your fire" during the convention when the nation was watching.

I was right here, day after day, urging Kerry to wake the hell up - but they didn't want to hear that.
Kerry was willing to accept the White House if it was thrust upon him, but he refused to fight for it.

You call me coward?
That's cool, I can take that.

But maybe it's not me that you're mad at.
Maybe you're a fighter too, and deep down, you're angry at Kerry for quitting..
That's why you didn't get the "Monkey Mail" graphic.

If you think Kerry ran a good campaign,'s  probably not your home page.

Subject: Thanks for Vegas

Wow, my first visit to Vegas was a fantastic experience! Thank you to you and everyone
who participated.  Mike the Dealer (that nametag had me cracking up the whole time), Bob,
Tom, Rohn, Walt and everyone else who's names were wiped from my memory.

High points, number one meeting Bart, walking the strip from one end to the other,
Bellagio to Sahara, to Luxor and back to Bellagio for an evening view of the waters;
speaking French (albeit poorly on my part) at the tequilafest; discussing mathematics,
physics, and religion with some very smart people.  Playing poker amongst friends and
lasting way longer than I expected.  Drinking vast amounts of tequila, yet still maintaining
a sense of awareness.  I discovered that the best cure for a serious case of cottonmouth
is a semi-largish swallow of really good tequila. Then of course was the waking up Saturday
morning waiting for the inevitable alcohol hangover, and wondering at the by Koresh miracle
that the hangover never materialized.

Bart I had a great time and am very happy that I was a part of it.
I am definitely up for a Texas event and who could turn down a visit to the Garden State!

Take care,
Scott from Alabama

Subject:  Clinton interview perspective

Hey Bart, saw the interview Clinton gave on Fox. Good for him.

In a democracy, leaders of nations give interviews *all* the time. I saw Clinton here in
the Netherlands a few times and he naturally always gave interviews. To all kinds of people.

He was ex-president at the time and I read several of the interviews he gave.
Not once did he attack the current administration, even though had plenty of opportunity.

All his interviews showed that he was always willing to answer the hard questions and that
he had a deep knowledge of history, geopolitics, energy concerns, trade, human rights, etc.

You have to respect a guy like that.
See Tony Blair? Disagree with him, but at least he can stand up and defend his position himself.
In fact, you can't get anywhere in British politics without being able to debate.

The only kind of leader that can't debate is .. A PUPPET!
Puppets can't speak for themselves! So when you put them in the spotlight you get the
retarded mumblings Bush is so famous for.

Welcome to Jihadistan

Five years after the Afghan invasion, the Taliban are fighting back hard, carving out a sanctuary
where they - and Al Qaeda's leaders - can operate freely.

You don't have to drive very far from Kabul these days to find the Taliban. In Ghazni province's
Andar district, just over a two-hour trip from the capital on the main southern highway, a thin
young man, dressed in brown and wearing a white prayer cap, stands by the roadside waiting
for two Newswhore correspondents. It is midday on the central Afghan plains, far from the
jihadist-infested mountains to the east and west. Without speaking, the sentinel guides his visitors
along a sandy horse trail toward a mud-brick village within sight of the highway. As they get
closer a young Taliban fighter carrying a walkie-talkie and an AK-47 rifle pops out from behind
a tree. He is manning an improvised explosive device, he explains, in case Afghan or U.S. troops
try to enter the village..

Our troops, slapped around by a bunch of goat herders.

...and they said Clinton hurt our military?
It was Clinton's military that took Baghdad in a matter of hours.

Hilly B-slaps Sleazy

Hilly put the slap on Kinda Sleazy Rice on Tuesday as the political fighting escalated over
which president - the Thinker or Der Dunce - missed more often capping Osama's ass.

Clinton, who's going to be president, took aim at Sleazy and her Monkey over their 9-11 roles,
part of the growing argument touched off after Bill Clinton gave Chris Wallace a cock-a-thon on
"Fox Whore Sunday" in which he bent Wallace over a log and made him squeal.

"My husband did a great job in demonstrating that Democrats are not going to take these attacks," She said.
"If my husband and his national security team had been shown a PDB entitled 'Bin Laden Determined To
Attack Inside the United States' he would have taken it more seriously than history suggests it was taken
by our current president and his national security team."

ha ha
Go, Hilly, Go!

You know me - I'm not the kind of guy who gets overly optomistic, but if that Rove bastard
tries to play hardball with The Champ and his wife, we might have a damn entertaining '08
capped by a big-ass November party.

Unlike the lily-livered quitters who call themselves "democrats," the Clintons have been
thru hell like no other couple and they want more.

Trust me - that Hillary's panty thing Hardon Kenny pulled?
That's going to cost them in 2008.
Hilly has wrath that Shakespeare never dreamed was possible.

And what will the GOP do when She attacks them from New York
while Bill is attacking them from Los Angeles and their VP strikes from Florida?
The GOP smear machine might have trouble keeping up with the dynamic duo.

Slate: Why we hate Clinton

Did Clinton come across a little unhinged? Sure, but that's an advantage in a midterm election
where party passion matters. Liberal activists want to see their representatives fight back the
way Clinton did. This was a rallying cry and a signal to other members of the party to do the same.
Clinton can go to individual districts to campaign for competitive candidates, or he can sell the
same message wholesale by banging the table in a single performance on Fox.

Yeah, Clinton was an out-of-control, frothing-at-the-mouth madman on FOX Whore News.
He was a deranged loner, trying to find a gun and a tower to shoot people from.

Clinton was so unhinged, he set the record straight and made the Nazi bully suckle the truth.
I wish we had 250 more like this "madman" in Washington DC to fight for the damn truth.

His attack on the "right wing" was an echo of his wife's famous complaint
about the "vast right wing conspiracy" she claimed was out to get her husband

Once again, the impeachment conspiracy is some fabrication by the Clinton worshippers?
Tell me, did Mary Todd Lincoln have a famous complaint  about security at Ford's Theater? - do you have any more credibility than - thy name is whore. Get the fuckoutta here and take Salon.whore with you.

Republicans and Democrats are fighting over the meaning of the National Intelligence report.
Democrats point out that it concludes that the war in Iraq has inflamed our enemies hatred and
that terrorism has increased. Republicans however point out that pulling out of Iraq would show
American weakness and embolden the terrorists.

So we are dammed if we do and dammed if we don't. Bush has lied America into a war that we are
going to lose no matter what we do and he proposes that we not only stay the course, but we further
inflame the world by legalizing torture. We are not only hated by our enemies, we are hated by our allies.
Our friends hate us. We even hate ourselves. Bush is hated more than any other person on the planet.

I'm not sure I've read any "facts" from Arianna, at least concerning our front-runner.
When Arianna attacks, it's all personal insults and snotty, catty remarks.

Keep in mind that the reason that the Nazis couldn't support Bubba's attacks on Osama

Hell, after the way that his own party treated him, I wouldn't raise a penny for a democrat,

Bush is really dumb

Jack Cafferty just had some real choice words about Bush summing up Iraq
as a "comma" during his interview with Wolf Blitzer.

Jack hits the nail on the head when he puts the tally of lives, security and money on the cost
of this "comma". I wonder how the families of the 2,700 soldiers lost in Iraq feel about their
sacrifices being reduced to a portion of a "comma" according to the commander in chief?

Considering the fact that Iraq has been a major part of Bush's presidency,
does that mean his legacy will be a "comma"?

Subject: Clinton vs the Wallace boy

President Bill Clinton showed that a good counterpunch has a chance to land
and KO the opponent. All Democrats should follow Clinton by:

1. Show no fear. We've got to score to win. We can't let the clock run out because
we don't have the lead and we must break a losing streak.

2. Don't apologize for anything. My girl Nancy Pelosi should not have taken up for Bush.
And Chuck Rangel disappointed me too. Let the Repubs defend that Bush person if they can.
Rangel shouldn't have.

All the Democrats have to do is list the facts.
If they do that - they win.

Christ, what ever happened to, "Are you better off now or 6 years ago?"

NOBODY can say they prefer Bush's wars, torture, death and terrorist attacks to
Clinton's peace and prosperity. With Clinton, our problem was how to spend the surplus!
