WPost's Editorial Fantasyland
 by Robert Parry

 consortiumnews.com

 Excerpt:
Fred Hiatt's Washington Post editorial page and Bush's presidency have a lot in common
- most notably an arrogance of power so extreme that they believe their very words can alter reality.

With Bush, that record has been well established, from asserting that Saddam never let the U.N. inspectors
in to hyping progress in the Iraq War. But editorial page editor Hiatt - in league with Post publisher Donald
Graham - is not far behind.

After Libby's conviction, the Post's lead editorial continues to manufacture a false history of the case,
again slamming Joe Wilson.  The Post pins much of the blame for the scandal on Wilson, whom the Post
says "will be remembered as a blowhard." The Post also distorts Wilson's statements in a way that parrots
long-discredited White House talking points.

"Mr. Wilson was embraced by many because he was early in publicly charging that Bush had 'twisted,'
if not invented, facts in making the case for war against Iraq," the Post editorial states.

The [Libby] trial has provided convincing evidence that there was no conspiracy to punish Wilson
by leaking Plame's identity - and no evidence that she was covert."

Astonishingly, everything in this Post attack on Wilson is either a gross distortion or a lie.

"Homosexual acts are immoral and we should not condone immoral acts.
We are not well served by a policy that says it is okay to be immoral in anyway."
-- Gen. Peter Pace, explaining why America would rather have another 9-11

I disagree with the general.
I wouldn't mind getting a 9-11 warning from a gay person.

"Immoral" is letting our own injured and maimed soldiers sleep in their own urine when you all knew
about it and didn't give a damn. Immoral is lying to the American people in order to get us into a war.

Bush in on Firing of Prosecutors
 It's called 'Obstruction of Justice'

 nywhoretimes.com

 Excerpt:
The White House was deeply involved in the decision late last year to dismiss federal prosecutors,
including some who had been criticized by Republican lawmakers, administration officials said Monday.

Last October, Bush spoke with Tortureboy Gonzales to pass along concerns by Republicans that some
prosecutors were not aggressively addressing voter fraud, the White House admitted Monday. Pete Domenici,
Republican bastard of New Mexico, was among the politicians who complained directly to the president,
according to an administration official.

Within a few weeks of the president's comments to the attorney general, the Justice Department
forced out seven prosecutors. Previously, the White House had said that Mr. Bush's aides
approved the list of prosecutors only after it was compiled.

They only tell the truth after they've been caught.
How many felonies have these sons of bitches committed?

Injured troops being sent to Iraq

 Link

 Excerpt:
"This is not right," said Master Sgt. Ronald Jenkins, who has been ordered to Iraq even though he
has a spine problem that doctors say would be damaged further by heavy Army protective gear.
"This whole thing is about taking care of soldiers," he said angrily. "If you are fit to fight you are fit to fight.
If you are not fit to fight, then you are not fit to fight." As the military scrambles to pour more soldiers
into Iraq, a unit of the Army's 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Benning, Ga., is deploying troops with
serious injuries and other medical problems, including GIs who doctors have said are medically unfit
for battle. Some are too injured to wear their body armor, according to medical records."

Every day, Bush & Cheney are more desperate.
They know they've lost but they're lying to themselves that they can still win.
History will show that truly, Bush was the worst president ever.

What will America look like when they finally realize that it's all over?
Hell, what will Earth look like when they finally realize that it's all over?

Disagree with Bush? You're Evil

 WaHoPo

 Excerpt:
Opponents of the war believe passionately that President Bush, his neoconservative allies and a complicit
Congress deliberately misled the nation into war. Supporters of the president and the war concede that
mistakes were made, but say this involved no attempt to hoodwink the nation.

What is interesting about the clash from a psychological perspective is not that supporters and critics disagree,
but that large numbers of people on both sides claim to know the motives of people who disagree with them.

We are really bad about putting ourselves in other people's places and looking at the world the way they look at it,"
says psychologist Glenn D. Reeder. "We find it difficult to grant that other people come to their conclusions
in good faith if they reach a conclusion that is different than ours," he said.

...and if their "honest mistakes" put $220 million in their pocket every day - we shouldn't be suspicious?

The Failed Attorney General

 nywhoretimes.com

 Excerpt:
Alberto Gonzales said he understood the difference between the job he held - Bush's lawyer - and the job
he wanted, which was to represent all Americans as their chief law enforcement officer and a key defender
of the Constitution. Two years later, it is obvious Gonzales does not have a clue about the difference.

He has never stopped being consigliere to Bush's imperial presidency. If anyone, outside Bush's circle
of enablers, still had doubts about that, the events of last week should have erased them.

First, Gonzales defended the obviously politically motivated firing of eight United States attorneys, which he
dismissed as an "overblown personnel matter." Then his inspector general exposed the way the FBI has been
abusing yet another unnecessary new power that Gonzales helped Bush get in the name of fighting terrorism.

Boy, that's gotta be tough on the Whore Times - dissing their best boy George and his thugs.
They lied to help him get elected, then they lied to help him hide his crimes.

Apparently in 2007, they can make more money with the truth than they can with lies.

Why I Hate Her
  by Michael Corcoran

 wehateclintons.com

 Excerpt:
Her enabling of the Iraq war disaster, and her subsequent refusal to apologize for it, has by far been
the left's biggest gripe the presidential candidate, and understandably so. Her role in enabling this
painfully misguided war is a stain on her record, and on this country.

I'm starting to detect a sexual thrill from these wild-ass accusers.
Do you think this Corcoran guy is typing with one hand?

Ask yourself how stupid it would sound to say,

Cleland's enabling of the Iraq war disaster,
Biden's enabling of the Iraq war disaster,
Harken's enabling of the Iraq war disaster,
Kerry's enabling of the Iraq war disaster,
Schumers enabling of the Iraq war disaster,

You see? It's no fun to hold Cleland or Harken responsible for BUSH's disaster.
But the freshman senator from New York, SHE's responsible for BUSH's disaster all on her own.
It was HER vote that killed 3200 soldiers and Cleland, Kerry and Edwards had NOTHING to do with it.

Yep, we're clearing dealing with sex on some level.
If this Corcoran guy isn't playing with himself, maybe he just hates women?
What else drives a man crazy and makes him ooze hate with every word?

But her view on Iraq, however unforgivable, only represents part of the reason why progressives
should oppose a Clinton candidacy with vigor. And even if she were to get down on her knees and beg us
to accept her apology to authorize Bush to go to war, it would be a huge mistake to support her...

Fine, so why do you BEG for that apology each and every day?

Yep, we're clearing dealing with sex on some level.
For some reason, Democrats can't say, "I prefer Edwards or Obama."
No, that won't do - that would take a measure of adulthood.

This fever reminds me of the GOP's impeachment fever back in 1998.
Bill's impeachment was like a rape.

NOTHING was going to stop that impeachment because they had the fever.
The GOP was "caught up" with impeachment fever - that's all they could see or hear.
Bill's approval rating was in the 70s - and voters clearly didn't want him to be impeached,
but like the rapist who can't stop until he climaxes, it was GOING to happen.

Hell, the GOP lost seats in November of 1998 - but that didn't matter to them.
NOTHING was going to stop that impeachment because they had the fever.
They lived and breathed impeachment the way some people are now living and breathing "Stop her!"

If you, the reader, like another candidate better than Hillary, vote for him or her.
But when you get the fever the way this Corcoran guy's got it, that tells me something.

And you, "I'll vote Republican before I'll vote for Her," Democrats need to worry
because your "Stop her!" fever is turning you into what the GOP was in 1998.

'Axis of Evil' Report Card
  by Ray McGovern

 consortiumnews.com

 Excerpt:
Bush labeled Iraq, Iran and North Korea the ''axis of evil.'' It is imperative that we try to piece together what
role U.S. intelligence played in supporting the ''axis'' idea and the misguided policies and actions that ensued.
For the ''axis of evil'' sobriquet morphed into axes for grinding by accomplices like George Tenet, and the
pandering was consequential.

It used to be that presidents made decisions based, at least in part, on the judgments of the intelligence community.
It was a shock to see that process stood on its head, with the president asserting a ''grave and growing danger''
and then telling functionaries like Tenet to conjure up the ''intelligence'' to support his rhetorical flourishes.
We are talking about untruths with tragic consequences.

We were doing OK until; Bush went to sleep (at best) and let Osama hit us.

Then he kicked every hornet's nest he could find, turning North Korea and Iran
and Iraq into perhaps never-ending problems with perhaps millions dead.

...all so his warmonger friends could cash in and move to Dubai with our Treasury.

Subject: Eight Prosecutors

A thought just occurred to me. We've got a scandal because the Bush junta fired eight
US Attorneys who resisted using their offices to mount partisan "investigations" of Democrats.

So if these eight were fired for NOT mis-using their offices for partisan purposes,
what does that say about the hundred some other US Attorneys who didn't get fired?
How many of them DID mis-use their offices for partisan political vendettas?

Maybe Congress should be looking not only at why some were fired,
but at what the rest did to keep their jobs.

Subject: FBI's national security letters

Hey, Mr. Bart,

Is anyone surprised that the FBI abused the power granted to them
by the Abuse of Power Act - I mean Patriot Act?

PBS reported that over 150,00 have been issued since the incidents in downtown New York
and Washington - on Sept. 11, 2001, I think.   About 70 a day. Some of the abuse involved
promising that they would show the letter to those of whom they were asking the information,
only to take the info and run.

Although I have to admit things are so much simpler to understand since everything the U.S.
government does is, by definition, good now that we have done away with those God-Damned
first ten amendments to the constitution. Without that pesky impediment, our police forces can
use their divinely-inspired knowledge of who the bad guys are without worrying about liberal
concepts such as civil rights.

Praise the Official God.

Subject: How To End George's War

Hi Bart,

Here's a letter I'm sending to my Congress critters.  What do you think?

"Here are two things Congress can do to end George's war:
One, tie any and all spending requests to the revokation of Bush's tax cuts for the rich.
This way, you get to "support the troops" AND appear fiscally responsible in paying for George's
boondoggle but at the same time put the ball in George's court as to which is more important to him,
tax cuts for the wealthy or his war.

"The other thing Congress can (and should) do is REQUIRE that all war costs are accurately
reflected in the budget.  Don't let that lying bastard pretend he's "balanced the budget" by
simply not reporting expenses...

I KNOW, absolutely, these tactics will work.  What I don't know is if rich Senators would
ever eliminate their own tax cuts just because "insignificant" (read: poor) people are dying in the sand..

Time to Admit Defeat in Iraq?
 by Ivan Eland

 consortiumnews.com

 Excerpt:
Most analysts suggest removing U.S. troops from harm's way, pulling them back from major Iraqi population
centers and moving them to outlying areas safer from the raging civil war - for example, the Iraqi borders, more
remote regions of Iraq, or neighboring countries - while using those forces to try to prevent the civil conflict from
turning into a regional war.

In general, this is the opposite of the strategy now being pursued by the administration. The administration is taking
U.S. troops from existing large bases on the outskirts of Iraqi cities, and quartering them within those cities, so that
they can be closer to the Iraqi people and the "bad guys."

Subject: Del Castillo rules

Dude,

I'm sure you're hip to this but if you're not you'll thank me forever.
I refer to the Chingon video in the special section of the DVD of Kill Bill II where
Rick and Mark are joined with Robert Rodriguez to play for the films premiere party.

I'm just blown away by Del Castillo as this is the first time I ever got to see them.
I played guitar for 40 years before I had to quit and those three guys are brilliant.
I knew Robert was a genius from his films. What a night that must have been!
If you don't know what I'm talking about run  - do not walk - to the nearest
video store and buy Kill Bill II.

Peace,

We bought the Kill Bill DVD not knowing.
Then out of the blue, I hear these sounds and I tell Mrs Bart, half-kidding,
"That sounds like our good friend Rick's band," and sure enough, it was.

And great timing, they played together again last Sunday in Austin.
