"For those confident of success in the surge, McConnell's maneuvers will lead to a brilliant
victory in 2008.  For the overwhelming majority of Republicans in Congress, who will not say
publicly what they have long believed privately, the freight train of electoral disaster is heading
towards them at 100 miles an hour.

Scandals that harm Republicans are revealed by the hour. Investigations by Democrats that have
barely begun will yield even more nasty revelations. The Iraq policy is in very deep trouble.
McConnell is playing high-stakes poker with a pair of threes visible to all, and they raise the ante?

Bush/Cheney & a Love of 'Petards'
 by Robert Parry

 consortiumnews.com

 Excerpt:
Neocons love one rhetorical device above all others, flipping an opponent's words back in his face,
a process called "hoisting him on his own petard." Recently, Bush and Cheney have engaged in this
practice in countering Iraq War opponents. Bush mocked his "realist" critics for lacking "realism."
Cheney, who has spread every Iraq War myth known to man, is now accusing critics of embracing
"myths" about the Iraq War. Clever words, however, cannot fix a disastrous military policy.

As for the "myth" that the Iraq War was a diversion from the "war on terror," Cheney's formulation
amounts to yet another assertion that doesn't stand up to serious scrutiny, but will surely be repeated often.
The simple fact is that the Bush/Cheney invasion of Iraq four years ago was a diversion from fighting
al-Qaeda and its Taliban allies in Afghanistan.

Subject: Cali real estate

Doing the math on CA---

Sold my stock in 1999 before Chimpy made the markets tank.
Bought a 1750 sq. ft. house for 150K.
Now the house is worth 550K.
I like that math just fine.

Just hope all our home prices don't turn to shit.
Teacher Ed

Ed, I don't think those California dollars are real.

The only way you could get some value out of that money
would be to move somewhere like ...Oklahoma.

You could move here, buy a brand new 2500 sq ft castle for $200K
and have a cool million in the bank ....but you'd be in Oklahoma.

Subject: stop fucking off :)

Hey Bart,

It's really amazing how rude, cruel and thoughtless people think they have the right to be.
Hard to believe someone would berate you for a computer glitch.

And remember, he's a longtime fan...

I thought of you recently when I got an angry e-mail from a listener.
He was pissed because we played a song by the Dixie Chicks (haha!).
He went on a tirade about how they were un-American and how dare I play their music.
Then he gave me that golden line, "I would have made a contribution to your radio station, but now I won't!"

Hope it's a little consolation you're not the only one who deals with that shit!
Take care

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the suspected mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks, confessed to that attack
and a chilling string of other terror plots during a military hearing at Gitmo, according to a transcript
released to get those nasty Gonzales stories out of the headlines.

Sununu: Torty Gonzales must go

 Link

 Excerpt:
Sen. John Sununu (R-SonofBastard) of New Hampshire on Wednesday became the first Republican
in Congress to call for Torty's dismissal, hours after Bush expressed confidence in his crooked lawyer.

"I think the president should replace him," Sununu said in an interview with The Whore AP.
"Right now, the attorney general's image is tarnished in the eyes of many Americans and frankly,
we need an Attorney General who is spick and span. I think Mr. Gonzales should be fired."

Let me guess: Sununu is one of the 21 GOP senators up for re-election in 2008 and
this is his chance to split away from Bush, or as he's now knonn, "President Poison."

Sununu knows a sinking ship when he sees one.

It's only money. California is a lot prettier than Oklahoma.
Would I spend 30 years of my life working full time in Oklahoma to save a few bucks?
Nope. You've still gotta live where you live.
At the end of it, you own the property in either situation.

60 Democratic Senators?
 by Brent Budowsky

 thehill.com

 Excerpt:
21 Republican senators are running for reelection in 2008, creating the possibility of seismic gains for Democrats.
Is Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) a brilliant tactician, leading his caucus to a catastrophic disaster in 2008?

Dick Morris says the Iraq war votes are a game of chicken in which Republicans aggressively go to the mat for the
president's policy, and prevail because of their iron will.  Setting aside whether the lives of our troops should be
subject to a game of chicken by partisans in Washington, in a war that is going poorly, with tidal opposition from
the American people, this strategy at best achieves irrelevant short-term tactical gains in return for strategic disaster for the GOP.

When McConnell maneuvered with a successful filibuster to defeat the resolution, what did he achieve?

His party was overwhelmingly blamed by the public, yet again, on Iraq. Some of the wisest Republicans in the Senate
found their sound advice ignored, and were embarrassed by voting both for and against their own proposal, within days.

Giuliani on Chavez payroll

 nydailywhore.com

 Excerpt:
Rudy Giuliani's law firm lobbies for Citgo Petroleum Corp., a unit of the state-owned oil company
controlled by Venezuela's Hugo Chavez, who calls President Bush a "madman" and a "devil."

Bracewell & Giuliani registered to lobby for Citgo in Texas on April 26, 2005, less than a month
after Giuliani joined the firm and became a name partner, state records show.  Citgo renewed the
contract in 2006 and 2007 and pays the firm $5,000 a month to track legislation.

Giuliani's campaign released a statement:

"Mayor Giuliani has been clear and consistent - he will accept money from anybody
because he's drunk with power and wants to torture black people in the White House,"
campaign spokeswoman Katie Levinson said in the statement.

The Hit-Woman Behind Bush
'Harry' covered up his draft-dodge, too
   by Greg Palast

 gregpalast.com

 Excerpt:
The Mister Big behind the scandal of George Bush's firing of US Attorneys is not a 'mister' at all.
The House Judiciary Committee has released White House emails indicating that the political operative
who ordered the hit on prosecutors too honest for their own good was Harriet Miers, Bush's maid.
But this is not the first time that Miers has fired investigators to protect Mr. Bush.

In 1999, while investigating Bush, I obtained an extraordinary, and extraordinarily confidential, memo
to the US Attorney's office in Austin. It disclosed that, in 1997, Governor Bush secretly suggested to
the chairwoman of the Texas Lottery Commission that she grant a contract to the client of a Bush ally.

The Governor's back-door demand to the Lottery chairwoman was not so easy. Bush wanted the
Lottery to grant a multi-billion dollar contract to GTech Corporation. But GTech hadn't even bid on
the contract - and a winner was already announced.  Miers then fixed it.

The 'Surge' Is Succeeding
 by Robert Kagan (R-Whore)

 wewhoreforbush.com

 Excerpt:
Leading journalists have been reporting for some time that the war was hopeless,
a fiasco that could not be salvaged by more troops and a new counterinsurgency strategy.
The conventional wisdom in December held that sending more troops was politically
impossible after the antiwar tenor of the midterm elections.

Four months later, the once insurmountable political opposition has been surmounted.
And though it is still early and horrible acts of violence continue, there is substantial evidence
that the new counterinsurgency strategy, backed by the infusion of new forces, is having a significant effect.

A greater sense of confidence produces many benefits. The number of security tips about insurgents
that Iraqi civilians provide has jumped sharply. Stores and marketplaces are reopening in Baghdad,
increasing the sense of community. People dislocated by sectarian violence are returning to their homes.

We'll know the surge has succeeded when Bush, Cheney and Condi
announce that they're going to visit and walk the streets of baghdad.

After they take a scheduled, public tour of the Baghdad streets,
I will admit the surge has worked.

Until that happens, it's just one giant wishful thinking handjob.

Dying woman loses marijuana appeal
God must be very proud of his followers

 Link

 Excerpt:
A woman whose doctor says marijuana is the only medicine keeping her alive can face federal drug charges.

The ruling was the latest legal defeat for Angel Raich, a mother of two from Oakland suffering from scoliosis,
a brain tumor, chronic nausea and other ailments who sued the federal government pre-emptively to avoid
being arrested for using the drug. On her doctor's advice, Raich eats or smokes marijuana every couple of hours
to ease her pain and bolster her appetite.

The latest legal twist once again highlighted the conflict between the federal government, which tries to please
some non-existent God by declaring that marijuana has no medical value, and her doctor who says it does.

Pure insanity.
What happened to "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?"

Isn't she guaranteed life under the Constitution?
What is her crime - having a brain tumor?

Trust me, if this was Jenna Bush, every religious handjob on FOX News would be
running to her rescue like they did when she was caught underage drinking.

Amertica is so hung up on God and nudity and senseless slaughter,
they can't find a way to let this dying woman go out with less pain?

Raich, 41, began sobbing when she was told of the decision that
she was not immune to prosecution and said she would continue using the drug.

"I'm sure not going to let them kill me," she said. "Oh, my God."

There are so many things that make me ashamed of my country.

Subject: Gonzales makes Mistakes?

Attorney General Gonzales concedes that he "made some mistakes" as if  his firing of 8 prosecutors
who refused to participate in Bush's latest voter suppression scheme was some sort of simple error.

Gonzales should go to jail for what he did but that's not going to happen because he fired
all the prosecutors who had the integrity to prosecute him for it.

Bartcop Flashback

We knew MoDo was a Ho way back - back in my "blue period."
Each time she fired a below-the-belt shot at the Clintons, I'd run her picture.
Thouble is - the picture was some tacky lady I saw on a porn site.

Someone saw this on the inter-tubes and sent it to me.

It never hurts to remember we're mostly a comedy site.

Plus, you really can't hold me responsible for some of those back issues.

Iraq pumped 3.5M barrels daily before Bush invaded
and then they got their 2003 Halliburton upgrade

Bush is stealing $220,000,000 every day.

No wonder they were so eager to start a war,

stealing  $220,000,000 every day.

It's the biggest theft in Earth's history.

Exxon made $10B profit in 90 days
$100M a day - all profit - because Bush started a fake war

 Link

Bush's "Bring 'em on" death taunt is up to...

3,197....3,203 American victims

We lost  6 more soldiers since last issue
while the Little Dictator plays with himself.

...and how much did BIG OIL make yesterday?
Exxon makes $108M - every day

(And that's just ONE oil company)

6 more soldiers are dead, but that's OK because
Exxon makes $75,000 profit per minute

Bush can live with that,
because Iraq's oil wells have no meters
and his front company is moving to Dubai.

Bush has killed more Americans than Osama.

China Hits U.S. Rights Hypocrisy
 by Ivan Leland

 consortiumnews.com

 Excerpt:
George W. Bush and his "war on terror" have taken the United States so far from its founding concept
of "unalienable rights" that Washington invites derision when it chastises repressive nations for denying
liberties to their own people. Rather than the shining city on the hill, the United States has become the
glass house from which stones are thrown. In this guest essay, Ivan Eland notes that even the Chinese
government has lobbed back a few salvos.
