Fatal Flaws of Bush's 'Tough-Guy-ism'
  by Robert Parry

 consortiumnews.com

 Excerpt:
George W. Bush has guided the United States into an interminable war in Iraq based on a philosophy
of "tough-guy-ism." The approach holds that the only acceptable outcome to a war is American "victory"
-- and that all other results, from Vietnam to Somalia, were a failure of will. Bush's backers put this
vision on display during the March 23 war spending debate, but the historical narrative has some fatal flaws.

Even worse, Bush is the typical school yard bully.
He's never been in a fight that wasn't fixed from the start.

"To those on the other side of the aisle who are opposed, I ask you the same questions that my gunner
asked me when I was leading a convoy up and down Ambush Alley one day. He said, 'Sir, what are we
doing over here? What's our mission? When are these Iraqis going to come off the sidelines and fight
for their own country?' So to my colleagues across the aisle - your taunts about supporting our troops
ring hollow if you are still unable to answer those questions now four years later."

The Media's Castration for Bush
"We do it all for you, George!"

 opednews.com

 Excerpt:
Freedom of the press is therefore a non-negotiable, fundamental prerequisite for a functional democracy.
But since 2000, in the most secretive, media-hostile administration in our nation's history, the mainstream media
has been neutered like a six-month old Labrador. It's allowed the Busheviks to rape the constitution with impunity,
making a mockery of our sacred rule of law and turning the United States into a near Monarchy. As anyone who
watches a White House press conference can attest to, the press fears speaking out against Bush, who has gotten
a free pass for six years now despite having a presidency wrought with lies, corruption and miserable failure. And it's
Americans who suffer as a result. If not for the advent of blogging and the power of 'netroots reporting, Bush would
truly be king, and our citizenry would be completely ignorant of the truth.

When the whore media went after Clinton's zipper 24/7, they said, "We have a right to know."
Then Bush came along and we didn't even have a right to know how many felonies he had.

This story has it right - if not for the Innertubes, ALL our news would be approved by Karl Rove.

You can't say it often enough - "Fuck the press."

Subject: serving subpoenas

The problem... and Lou Dobbs on CNN said this first... is that in order for an subpoena to be issued
to make Rove and Miers testify, is that the Justice Department will need to do that.

Bush has Gonzales in his pocket, so they will never be issued.
Bush has the Supreme Court in his pocket as well.

Believe me Bartcop, we're f-ing screwed!

Keep Hammering
 Tim
http://bothsidesofmybrain.blogspot.com

Tim, that can't be right.
Even if it's somehow technically right, all the democrats would have to do is say,
"Bush is blocking the subpoenas so we can't get the truth about all his crimes."

A little public pressure can do wonders.

Caught Like a Chicken in a Tractor's Nutz
Documents show Gonzales guilty, Bush says "That's OK with me"

 Link

 Excerpt:
The White House reaffirmed support Saturday for our crooked Attorney General Alberto Gonzales
while Democrats questioned his credibility for misrepresenting his role in firing eight federal prosecutors.

Critics said the latest document disclosure - more than 280 pages of e-mails, calendar notations and
other documents sent to Congress late Friday - prove what a guilty bastard he is.

Gonzales has said he participated in no discussions and saw no memos about plans to carry out the firings
that were obviously politically motivated. His schedule, however, shows he attended at least one hourlong
meeting, on Nov. 27, where he approved a detailed plan to execute the prosecutors' firings.

Y'know, "Trust me, I'd never lie to you" doesn't work very well after you've been caught
lying again and again and again and again and again.

Subject: good old Pissquik

Bart,

Did you catch this:

The reviews only grew more savage when Gore crossed over to the Senate Environment and Public Works
Committee in the afternoon for a second hearing. "You've been so extreme in some of your expressions that
you're losing some of your own people," barked Jim Inhofe (Okla.), the committee's ranking Republican and
the man who has called man-made global warming "the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people."

Inhofe informed Gore that scientists are "radically at odds with your claims." Displaying a photograph of icicles
in Buffalo, Inhofe demanded: "How come you guys never seem to notice it when it gets cold? . . . Where is
global warming when you really need it?"

Inhofe thinks that icicles in Buffalo means there is no global warming.
Is it really possible to be this stupid?
 Dave C

Dave, he really is that stupid.
Oklahoma has lots of oil and oil companies, so they elected the most backwards bastard
in the whole state to go to Washington so he could swear there's no such thing as science.

Four Generals covered up Tillman's death

 Link

 Excerpt:
A Pentagon investigation will recommend that nine officers, including up to four generals, be held accountable for
"missteps" [That means f-ing lying about what happened] in the aftermath of the "friendly fire" death of Army Ranger
Pat Tillman in Afghanistan, senior defense officials said Friday.

Dozens of soldiers - those immediately around Tillman at the scene of the shooting, his immediate superiors and
high-ranking officers at a command post nearby - knew within minutes or hours that his death was fratricide.

bartcop.com  isn't the right website to carry this flag, ...but ...was it "friendly fire?"
Or was it, "Frag the realist because we don't want to hear his doubts about this war?"

Subject: Colbert

I swear, Colbert has been readin' ol' Bart!
For as long as I've been visiting Bartcop you've been on the Dems for wimpy ways.

I watched a Colbert clip where he taunts the Dems as 'pussies' if they do not Impeach Der Monkey!
The whole rant was overtly a bartesque calling out of the tutu crew!  But wait! Don't order yet!

Boxer, our better Senator, gave Inhofe a toddler's 'time-out.'
Reid's at least talking a firm hand.  Waxman's at it in earnest.
Colbert's pick-ed up the Bart hammer.

Keep it up, Sir, because your reach is more broad than you might imagine.
It's working!

I Beg Your Pardon?

 truthout.org

 Excerpt:
Libby was afforded all of the constitutional protections possible. He was tried in a court of law, was provided
"due process" and was tried by an impartial jury of his peers. As a result of this, he was found guilty. Now he
faces up to twenty-five years in prison for his crimes. Had Libby simply told the truth in the beginning, this
discussion would be moot. How can we ask a federal prosecutor to ignore obstructing justice and multiple
lies to a grand jury?

As a result of this verdict, many Libby supporters are calling upon President Bush to pardon him.
Who are they really trying to protect with this call for a pardon? What are they trying to hide?

Libby appears to value the "blood oath" he swore to Cheney and Bush more than his oath to American.
This is not a government; the Bush administration is operating more like a South Central LA gang,
"blood in, blood out," or the Mafia, "you never rat on the family."

>  and if she wins the nomination, I would support her and wish her all the best."

Bart, why can't people understand that if the names

 Mike Mac

Well, <Bart tilts his head like Reagan> only passionate people are into politics.
Most people don't care, most people don't vote, the vocal, energized people call the tune.

People who are drawn to a candidate will naturally look for flaws in their same-party competitor.
We shouldn't forget that the Republicans are the enemy.

Mystery of the Missing Meters - Who knew?
 Accounting for Iraq's Oil Revenue

 corpwatch.org

 Excerpt:
The line of ships at the Al Basra Oil Terminal (ABOT) stretches south to the horizon.
Close by, two more tankers fill up at the smaller Khawr Al Amaya Oil Terminal (KAAOT).
Guarding both terminals are dozens of heavily-armed U.S. Navy troops and Iraqi Marines.

Heavily armed soldiers spend their days at the oil terminals scanning the horizon looking for
suicide bombers and stray fishing dhows (boats). Meanwhile, right under their noses, smugglers
are suspected to be diverting an estimated billions of dollars worth of crude onto tankers because
the oil metering system that is supposed monitor how much crude flows into and out of ABOT
and KAAOT - has not worked since the March 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq.

Officials blame the four-year delay in repairing the relatively simple system on "security problems."
Others point to the failed efforts of the two U.S. companies hired to repair the southern oil fields,
fix the two terminals, and the meters: Halliburton and Parsons of Pasadena, California.

Gee, you mean Bush is stealing hundreds of millions of dollars worth of oil each day?

Boy, you can bet the US media will be all over this biggest-theft-in-history, right?

Why do women think they look good in a bukly trash bag?

Subject: Worst President Ever on the Pentagon March 17

Today we slogged through the mud for the duration of the march and the very unpleasant police force
who refused to allow our bus to come in and pick us up.  One of our number, a 22 year old girl, was
traumatized by a police brutality act in front of her eyes (man struggling on the ground at the bridge site
above the North Pentagon parking lot who was maced continuously).  This brave young woman tried to
bring this atrocity to the attention of the speakers on stage, but they just droned on and ignored her pleas
for attention.  The Virginia State Police were out there in droves and riot gear.  It was overkill for a rather
smaller crowd than was expected.

Along the route there was actually a presence from the Pro-War contingent.  We spoke with a woman at
Constitution Gardens who was denied access through the park areas (we didn't even try - some of the areas
looked so intimidating we walked around and we had 17 with us) but these were two middle aged ladies
alone and they were hit and this lady showed us her wound on her leg where she was attacked for walking
into a public park.  The police did nothing to protect her.

This march was such a challenge to begin with.  It was such a cold day and the grounds throughout were
spongy and muddy.  I have mud on my jeans up to my knees from walking, and probably ruined a pair of
shoes because I wanted to demonstrate in black (Johhny Cash anti-Vietnam statement - I usually protest in black).

The pigs like those who attacked the women were stationed also at Arlington Cemetary.  They insulted us
by posting a sign near my family burial grounds that called us traitors.  I almost lost it at that point.
We buried my father on this date in 1993.  Why do these people think they are the only ones to
represent the veterans?  My friends supported me.

A few of our numbers got to meet Cindy Shehan and had their pictures taken with her.  One of our group,
Duncan, has been a loyal follower of hers for a long time and has been protesting with her when she comes to our area.

Later when we went to the speeches (Answer always has loads of radical pant loads to drone on and on)
We met a lovely couple from upper New York state. Their son Shannon is in Bagdad serving and they wanted
to come out and protest against the war.  I thanked them for their son's service and told them that their family
is my family, since my brother who was a Vietnam vet. They are active in local peace and impeachment
movements in their area. I remember from this why I was there and putting up with all this shit,
its for Shannon, their son in Iraq.

When will Bush's Fredo get whacked?

 rawstory.com

 Excerpt:
Frank Rich points out the "Jekyll-and-Hyde contrast" between President Bush's perfunctory remarks
on the fourth anniversary of Iraq and his genuine passion the next day when defending Alberto Gonzales.

Rich goes on to suggest that for the last ten years, Bush and Gonzales have worked to protect each other
from unseemly revelations -- ranging from Bush's drunk driving conviction and Gonzales's relationship with
Enron to 9/11 and the Plame outing. The attorney firings, Rich believes, are just one more piece in the pattern.

The president's wild overreaction is revealing. So far his truculence has been largely attributed to
his slavish loyalty to his White House supplicants. But the fierceness of Bush's response -- to the
ludicrous extreme of forbidding transcripts of congressional questioning of White House personnel
-- indicates there is far more fire to go with all the Beltway smoke.

Subject: war with Iran

It's on now.

It had to be a nation besides us as noone has much sympanthy for the US in the world community now.
"... the sailors, who include a woman, were seized at gunpoint after they had searched a civilian vessel
in the Iraqi part of the Shatt al Arab waterway."

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,261144,00.html

Now the the Brits can't leave without looking like cowards. Iran has abducted, basically a peacekeeper unit
for whatever reason, being stupid enough to have refused further nuke cooperation and this in the same news cycle.
Are they trying to build our Casus Belli for us... how can these people not know the destruction they'll bring on
their own children. It boggles the fucking mind to try and ascribe logic to it all. At least Bush and Co. have
fathomable greed and lust for power. Could they really be coordinating all this... using this to force the British
public into condoning an extension to their stay in the region? That would at least make sense...but maybe
there's just no sense to be had.

Spotlight on Enron's law firm

 sfgate.com

 Excerpt:
Alberto Gonzales enjoys a reputation for covering George W. Bush's back.

In 1996, for example, Gonzales, as Bush's general counsel, managed to get the then-Texas governor
excused from jury duty, thus saving Bush from having to disclose a 1976 arrest for drunk driving.

Bush rewarded Gonzales' loyalty by subsequently appointing him Texas' secretary of state and then to
the Texas Supreme Court. And today, Gonzales is still watching Bush's flank as White House counsel.

Subject: Gore, in his own words

Bart, I thought it might be instructive to those readers who persist in denying Gore's assertion
that he created the Internet. Please read this 1999 transcript:

http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/stories/1999/03/09/president.2000/transcript.gore/index.html

"During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet."
And so it begs the question, how does the man with a 64 I.Q. (no not Gore) interpret this simple sentence?
Best regards,
 CC in FL

Gore wrote the legislation that allowed the internet to happen.
Because he refused to defend himself in 2000, that turned the phrase and the candidate into a joke.

If Democrats would list the facts and correct the liars, we'd win most elections.

But they're too afraid to fight - they need a injection of  bartcop-ism.

9/11 remains filling potholes?

 reuters.com

 Excerpt:
Debris that may have contained bits of bone from victims of the WTC attacks was used to fill potholes
and pave city roads, according to court papers filed on Friday.  Eric Beck, a construction worker on
Staten Island, where the 9-11 rubble was taken, said in the process of sifting through the debris was rushed.

Beck said he saw sanitation workers removing small pieces of debris containing possible bone fragments
and loading them "onto tractors, and using it to pave roads and fill in potholes, dips and ruts."

Iraq pumped 3.5M barrels daily before Bush invaded

No wonder they were so eager to start a war,

stealing  $220,000,000 every day.

It's the biggest theft in Earth's history.

Exxon made $10B profit in 90 days
$100M a day - all profit - because Bush started a fake war

Bush's "Bring 'em on" death taunt is up to...

3,233....3,241 American victims

We lost  8 more since last issue
while the Little Dictator force-feeds the meatgrinder.

...and how much did BIG OIL make yesterday?
Exxon makes $108M - every day

(And that's just ONE oil company)

8 more soldiers are dead, but that's OK because
Exxon makes $75,000 profit per minute

Bush can live with that,
because Iraq's oil wells have no meters
and his front company is moving to Dubai.

Bloomberg News says Iraq is currently pumping 2M barrels a day.
A. How would they know?
They don't have people on the ground over there, and even if they did
oil wells have no meters
B. 2M barrels is $120M a day - where's that money going?
