Subject: Driving Miss Hillary

I've been Black for several decades now. I'm not especially sensitive about being Black
and a lot of days, it has no apparent affect on my life. I'm a 10 veteran of the USN and I
feel as much ownership of this nation as anyone.

When I see that cartoon I read it as an attempt to insult Mr Obama. I see it as saying that
he is not good enough for the Whitehouse, he is only good enough to drive the White person
to the Whitehouse. That is what that cartoon says in the absence of some sort of textual explanation.
I'm glad you don't mean it that way but, that is still how it reads.

steve in knoxville

Steve - but how bad would that be?

I like Jimi Hendrix, but I like Jimmy Page a lot more.

If I said, "Hendrix isn't good enough to tune Jimmy's guitars," would that be a racial slur?
To me, it's got nothing to do with race, I just like Page better than Hendrix.

Put another way, how can any Hillary/Edwards backer speak about Obama
and avoid the "Oh, that's a racial insult" to every not-pro-Obama statement?

Just asking...
