It is with great sadness that I write this. I have visited his site since the Bush debacle. He was always on point, and even if I did not agree with him it didn't diminish my love of the site and the man. Sorry for your loss.

My friend Ray Coleman (deceased) turned me on to Bartcop and I was so glad. I will miss reading his rants that I usually agreed with. So sorry Mrs. Bartcop and he will be missed by many.

Reading Bartcop was always a highlight of my day since 2006. I was (and still am) an expat and Bartcop made me feel sane while I watched in horror at what was happening in the US from afar. I never met the man in person, but the news of his passing still hit me hard (I even dropped a few tears). He had an incredibly sharp wit which could cut through the propaganda like no other. This is a tremendous loss to the liberal blogosphere. My condolences to Mrs. Bartcop and the kitties.

Bartcop was the first political blog that I ever read. I checked in ofter over the years. I am so sad that this amazing voice has been silenced. He will be remembered.

My sincere condolences to Mrs. Bart & family, good friends, loyal pillars, fans and even opinionated enemies of one of the best, if not THE BEST chiefly factual and brutally blunt, political & pop culture blogger's EVER, bar none. Whether you agreed with him or not, the man made you think, and often smile, chuckle or otherwise lOL! That said, it's reassuring to know that the archives will remain as reference & record & tribute to the timeless wisdom and uniquely common-sensical insight of Bartcop. 3 CHEERS & 3 SHOTS to one of the straightest shootin' s EVER!!! He will be sorely missed, but will long remain an inspiration to many...

I find myself crying for a man I never met in person. It's funny how you can come to know a person just from reading what they wrote and exchanging an email every six months or talking on the phone every few years.

Bart was one of the good guys and a "Thought Leader" in any sense of the term. He made his arguments in a cogent way, he made you laugh, he made you think and he'd never disappoint with the whys and the wherefores. If he didn't know about a topic he'd tell you so, and yet he knew so much. He could tell you what people were thinking and he could tell you about people's motivations and he'd invariably be correct. Time and time again Bart would make a prediction only to be proven right.

Bart could always be depended upon to immediately get to the point and to pull no punches and to make you laugh about it all at the same time.

Today, I grieve for a man I never met. A man I knew well.

I'll also miss Bartcop Radio, and his non-political humorous rants, like the story about the $2800 ice cream sandwich, and getting the 3rd degree when trying to get his car repaired after a hailstorm. Rest in peace Bart!

Even though we don't see eye to eye politically anymore, you will sincerely be missed Bart - not many people could articulate their points in such an intelligent and articulate manner, I truly am speechless :(

Bartster, your unique take on things, your sharp tongued wit and laugh out loud humor was what set you apart. You were the best of the best when it came to finding a bare knuckles perspective and exposing the hypocrisy of the (never) right, in a funny way. Thanks for providing us with many (Clinton's Cock) laughs through the years. You will be sadly missed by many, and gladly missed by the miserable phonies and hypocrites on the (never) right that you skewered and nailed spot on, with humor, as only you could, and did. Ouch! on many occasions. :-) Thank you Sir. Thank you for keeping us sane and laughing for many years. I will miss you.
