Shame, shame on America's whore media.

"The Americans will not allow any Islamic regime to take power in the heart of
the Islamic world unless it is a regime collaborating with them like what happens in Iraq."
--  Al-Qaida deputy leader Ayman al-Zawahri, who has more faith in Bush than I do   Link

From all appearances, Bush is about to install, Islamic, pro-Iranian handjobs in Iraq's government.
But if Im-Zo-Zarri says he's not, ...maybe we can all breath a little easier.

Big Dog attacks Bush Monkey
How can that be when "He's on their team?"

   Link

 Excerpt:
Bill Clinton sharply criticised Der Monkey for the Iraq Quagmire, Katrina, and the budget mess.
Clinton said Bush had decided to invade Iraq "virtually alone and before UN inspections were
completed, with no real urgency, no evidence that there were weapons of mass destruction."

The Iraq war diverted US attention from the war on terrorism "and undermined the support
that we might have had," Clinton said

"When James Lee Witt ran FEMA, because he had been both a local official and a federal official,
he was always there early, and we always thought about that," Clinton said, referring to his FEMA head.
"But both of us came out of environments with a disproportionate number of poor people."

Clinton added: "We depend on Japan, China, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, and Korea
primarily to loan us money every day of the year to cover my tax cut and these conflicts and Katrina.
I don't think it makes any sense."

Bush names employee to investigate boss
This is how his scandals stay contained, press happy to stay out.

  Link

  Excerpt:
Bush named one of his advisers, Fran Townsend, to lead an internal inquiry into the
disaster his non-action on Katrina caused, the White House said on Tuesday.

"Townsend will praise what went right and cover Bush's ass on everything else,"
said spokesman Trent Duffy, who just missed out on the job, himself.

"It's fine for a pitcher to call his own balls and strikes!"

Subject: Bush Names Townsend to investigate Katrina response

You would think the president's homeland security adviser would have more important
things to investigate. Like, bin Laden, for example. Here's what former CIA analyst
Michael Scheuer told CNN about Townsend: "The person who comes closest to fitting
the job description [of being in charge of going after Bin Laden and other terrorists]
is Fran Townsend, whose official title is assistant to the president and homeland security adviser."

I feel safer already.

  Excerpt:
Monkey's faltering performance after Katrina, like the Iraq quagmire, show his
priorities are at odds with actions needed to keep Americans safe, logic says.

"One of the bogus reasons that Bush gives for Iraq is to make America safer -- and Katrina
exposed that clearly he has made us more vulnerable," said Cindy Sheehan, back in the news.

Subject: Garbage - please keep posting Shirley pics

I discovered Bartcop thru a link from a Garbage fans message board.

Unfortunately I've never seen the band live - was gambling they'd continue touring,
and play somewhere near.  So it's nice to read of your experience.

I got drunk when I read they canceled their fall European tour,
and that Garbage is probably done after Australia.

Please keep posting Shirley pics, as a tradition -  it's a nice touch
to your site after all the gloom/doom bad news.  :)

Subject: One Nation

People who are arguing about the Pledge of Allegiance need to think about the two words before "Under God"
- the words "One Nation".   The phrase "one nation" means that New Orleans didn't happen to "them".
It happened to "us" and "we" needs to step up and make it happen. And in order to do that we need to
take a long hard look at the reality around us and figure out how "we" are going to make it happen.

We have to face the tough questions about what we are doing with our money. We spent hundreds of billions
of dollars in Iraq. Are we going to continue to choose Iraq over Louisiana. Are we going to take the money
from old sick people by delaying their prescription drug plan? Are we going to take it from children by cutting
Head Start? Bush has already ruled out taxing the rich so that leaves borrowing the money from the Communist
Chinese. I think that borrowing from the Commies is not good long term thinking.

We can't afford empty promises and poor judgment. It's time for America to come out of the fog and begin to think.
We are being tested as a nation to see if we are worthy of survival. We aren't just rebuilding New Orleans, we are
rebuilding the nation As a sit here on the edge of the San Andreas fault I ask if we are really one nation?

Quotes

"It is now clear that a challenge on this scale requires greater federal authority..."
--Dubya, on his Katrina debacle   Link

Hey Monkey, have you ever met a disaster you couldn't turn into a power grab?
But the more power you get, the worse things are for us and the world.

Can't you just break even on the coming disasters?
It's like every time a thousand people die, you steal $100M.

Can we afford George Bush as our Monkey in Chief?

Put me in charge of the 2006 race and I'll deliver a Democratic House and they can
impeach the crooked bastard/bungler and save what's left of our once-great country.

 Subject: Fern on Clinton

Bart:

One thing Fern has missed in his assessment of Clinton's performance is
how refined the rethuglican attack machine became during that time.
More tv, more hate-radio, more paper editorials, etc.

All of these along with the aquiescence of the "liberal media" combined to
make the average voter think that Clinton was a bad president.

If anyone doubts this, take a look at how effective this rethuglican apparatus has been
at making the average voter think that bush was/is a good president. They fooled a hell
of a lot of people before the 2000 election, while I was sitting there asking myself how
anyone could believe that monkey in a man-suit was presidential material.

Anyway, people who can think for themselves still remember the good things Clinton did
for the rich AND the poor...difference is, he didn't do EVERYTHING for the rich, w
hich is the biggest reason the neo-cons hate him so much.
They want it all, and they won't stop until it's theirs.

Your Friend,
Mike D

Subject: Somalia

Bart, it wasn't Clinton who didn't give the troops armor.
The troops didn't wear the freaking armor they were sent over there with!
They left their body armor at the barracks and went out into hostile territory
without it under their own volition.  Maybe Clinton should have prepared a
check list for each soldier and then walked them down there himself holding
their hands in a big chain like a day camp at the YMCA.

Yes, 19 soldiers died in Mogudishu but they were special forces soldiers who
should have known better than to underestimate their surroundings like that.
Bush has lost 100 times that number and they are not special forces soldiers.

Bush is losing grocery clerks and bankers from the national guard who don't
have the luxury to leave their body armor behind when they go out on mission
because they really don't have any body armor to begin with!

-Houston on the Big Island

Dude, good point, but when I wrote armor, I meant the armored personnel
carriers that Bush the smarter (?) failed to send with them when they landed.

 Wal-Mart Denying Lunch Breaks?
They call it "capping payroll costs"

  Link

 Excerpt:
Lawyers representing 116,000 Wal-Mart employees in California told a jury Monday
that the world's largest retailer systematically and illegally denied workers lunch breaks.

"Did not," cried the Wal-Mart lawyers.
"Did too," shot back the attorneys for the downtrodden.

The suit is among about 40 cases nationwide alleging workplace violations against Wal-Mart,
and the first to go to trial. Wal-Mart, which earned $10 billion last year, settled a lawsuit in
Colorado for $50 million that contains similar allegations.

Typical Republican greed - stealing from the poorest of the poor.

Where does following the party line stop?

  Link

  Excerpt:
So I have a question for the Bush jihadists, that shrinking but stubborn minority that still thinks Gee Dubya
walks on water and calls down rain. What's it going to take to make you folks stop sending me e-mails
railing at how the great and powerful Bush is being mistreated by that darned liberal media?

It is, of course, their standard defense, akin to a child sticking index fingers in her ears and shouting
"Lalalalala, I can't hear you!" until you stop committing the sin of reason.

Yep,
Bush did a great job with the economy
Bush did a great job protecting us on 9-11.
Bush did a great job capturing his partner Osama.
Bush did a great job with his fake but bloody quagmire.
Bush did a great job responding to the starving darkies.

We've never had a president like Bush before.

Subject: Clinton failure in Mogadishu

I think these guys have got you on this one, Bart.
I see it in terms of a baseball analogy: if a relief pitcher comes in with the bases loaded and gives up
the hit that scores the winning run, he doesn't get the loss, but he isn't credited with a save, either.

Clinton continued the mission, and he has to bear some responsibility for that.
Those guys went in under Bill's watch, undeniably. But you insist on defending him
with the characteristic obtuseness you often incorrectly (and, sad to say, proudly) claim as "argument".

Give it up, Bart. Move on.
It's over. You lost.

Your loyal fan,
Paul in Ohio

Yep, and I lost when I said our soldiers were better than Al Qaeda, too.

Shirley Rocks LA - their last gig?

  Link

 Excerpt:
Taking the cake, however, was the fest's only frontwoman, Garbage's Shirley Manson.

With her bright-red lipstick (and hair!) clashing with her black denim skirt, black net stockings
and black leather boots, Manson shook, spun and slithered around to hit after hit.
During the instrumental breaks in "Bad Boyfriend," she stared into the crowd and moaned.

Oh, Koresh slow my racing heart!
Nobody moans as good as Shirley Manson.

And later, she jumped off the stage and ran through the aisles, singing the entire time.

I did it because you deserve it and because I can.

History will prove that we were right about the BFEE all along.
Maybe it will say that we helped save our country from them.

Germán González is one of the four sons of Tequila Chinaco's original founder,

It is likely an understatement to say that Germán is very proud of this limited production tequila that
was produced in honor of his father and the 30th anniversary of the inception of Tequila Chinaco.

When I said 30th anniversary came in beautiful vessels, I was contacted by Hernán Buitrago,
the Mexico City Chinaco distributor and a close friend of Germán González.   Hernán wrote:

"... let me tell you that the case and bottle is absolutely nothing compared to what is inside.
The tequila is just amazing. Out of this world... once you taste it, there will be nothing else like it."

"Yes, Grandson," you'll reply.
"Could I ask you something," he'll say.

"Of course, my love, anything," you'll say.

 Subject: Donna Brazile

Donna Brazile was Gore's campaign manager.
During the campaign Bush visited Bob Jones University and was getting
a lot of bad press for going there due to its discriminatory policies.

What does Brazile get Gore to do? Go to New York and visit with Al Sharpton.
Of all the black leaders, she picked Sharpton, and just that quick,  Bush/BobJones
left the front pages and Gore/Sharpton took their place getting the bad press.

At the time I thought this was the biggest political blunder of the last 50 years.
Now Brazile shows how easily led she is by seeing Bush "speak from the heart."

Maybe shes in line for some of the action as some of her family is in New Orleans.
Too many Democrats are too quick to compliment the enemy, and for what reason, I'll never know.
