Rosa Parks Dies at 92

Rosa Parks, whose Dec. 1, 1955 arrest for not giving up her seat to a white passenger sparked

"She didn't live to see the 50th celebration and to see how we are acknowledging her," said Montgomery

Journalists' Hotel in Baghdad Attacked

Three enormous bombs, including a cement-mixing truck packed with explosives, blew up near 
an Iraqi police post outside the Palestine Hotel _ home to many foreign journalists in Iraq. 
Iraqi officials said 17 people were killed. A second bomb exploded inside a car not far from
the police position and more than 100 yards east of the hotel grounds. Both were believed 
to be suicide attacks. Security officials said a third bomb struck the area around the same time.
 

I heard on the radio that the "insurgents" may have been trying to kidnap journalists.

On Sunday, Republicans appeared to be preparing to blunt the impact of any charges. 
Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, (R-Felon) on the "Meet the Whore," compared the leak 
investigation with the case of Martha Stewart and her stock sale, "where they couldn't find 
a crime and they indict on something that she said about something that wasn't a crime."

Ms. Hutchison said she hoped "that if there is going to be an indictment that says something 
happened, that it is an indictment on a crime and not some perjury technicality where they 
couldn't indict on the crime and so they go to something just to show that their two years 
of investigation was not a waste of time and taxpayer dollars."

Ms. Hutchinson went on to say "The only time an investigation needs to base itself on a 
technicality is when it involves a Democratic President having sex with an office member.
Then money doesn't matter."

Judas did not betray Jesus, Judas did exactly what Jesus asked him to do. 
Judas was Jesus's right hand man and chose him to do the deed because he knew he 
could depend on Judas to get the job done. When Jesus said, "One of you will betray me" 
he wasn't doing a Sylvia Browne fortune telling bit; he was telling the disciples,
"I need one of you guys to go out there and tell the Romans where I will be." 

And when Jesus told Peter, "You will deny me three times" he was telling Peter that unless 
you want to find your ass nailed to tree next door you had better say you don't know me.

Western Christianity has twisted the story to fit the whole "Jesus was a victim" and the 
debt/repayment nonsense that runs throughout the new testament. And of course it gets 
repeated in Sunday School by morons that are unqualified to teach shoe lace tying.

Read the story from this point of view and the whole thing makes sense as
far as story telling goes. From a reality point of view its all bullshit.

Subject: American cars

I can't hold it against you that you are ignorant in regards to American manufacturing and organized labor.
It's such a deep & intertwined tale that it is beyond the grasp of those that didn't grow up surrounded by it.

The quality of life that once existed for America's middle class has gone so far down at such a gradual pace
that most aren't even aware of it. We work more hours, have less vacation time, have shitty health care,
have both parents working, live in fear of management, and are in constant fear of losing our jobs.

That's the way corporate America wants it, that's the way Japan wants it, that's the way J. D Powers and
all the little weasels that work there want it. We could go on all day about how good the Japanese utilize
everything we taught them.

But the bottom line is, that if the playing field was fair & level no one would be buying "foreign junk".
I'm so old I remember when made in Japan meant junk. I've given up on people that think it is AOK
to buy foreign cars.

I'm 51, I still have a good Detroit car job. My kid knows the story, my wife beat HEP C,
my Chocolate Lab sits in the driveway everyday waiting for me after work, my bud crop is
solid and steady, The Who (what's left of them) are gonna tour next year. Bush is going down fast.

Life is good. And if the shit hits the fan I can be in Canada in 20 minutes!!!!!!!

And if you really care ENDORSE  American cars.
Burn a tasty one and go look at a Buick LaCrosse or something.

Dude, you can say "foreign junk" over and over but you're arguing with accepted facts.
I wish Detroit could build cars as well as Toyota and Honda - I'll bet you do, too.

You can say J.D. Power sucks, you can also say Consumer Reports Magazine sucks.
You can say all the people who report great satisfaction with Japanese cars are ignorant
but in the end, deep down, you have to know you're not being honest with yourself.

I bought a new 1986 Cutlass and one day I tried to close the door and the damn handle came off in my hand.
It was attached to the door with two screws attached to f-ing cardboard. GM wouldn't even spend a nickle
to install a 2x2 piece of plywood (that must cost 10 cents) to anchor the handles. Toyota and Honda and
Mazda would never screw their customers that way. What's wrong with Ford and GM?

I'll bet Detroit's problem is a very simple one. Maybe they were just so accustomed to their decades of
Planned Obsolescence that they're not able to get away from that when competition came.

I applaud your attitude and your willingness to fight and I'm not against American organized labor.
But there's a reason why Detroit can't sell cars.

Why can't they just buy a Camry, take it apart and build their cars the same way?
