"It's ammunition you can use against the U.S. and Britain and about their aims in the region.
Talk of democracy sounds very lame. They are losing influence."

Repentant Republican
by William Frey, M.D. as seen on  consortiumnews.com

I supported Bush in 2000, believing then that he best reflected my love for America and for our tradition of liberty.
I supported the war in Afghanistan. In March of 2003, I believed that the invasion of Iraq was justified based upon
pre-war revelations presented to Congress and to the American people. Accordingly, the indictments contained
herein apply, first and foremost, to myself.

Many Americans whom I know and love, including many current supporters of President Bush, remain conflicted
over both his ultimate intentions in Iraq as well as domestic curtailment of civil liberties.

Many have given the benefit of the doubt to President Bush, and, in a misdirected spirit of unity, have supported,
as did I, Administration policies that conflict with our essential values.

This essay explores many of the issues that led me personally to the recognition that the policies I was supporting
in Iraq were not consistent with the justifications made for the invasion in the spring of 2003, that implicit in our
post-invasion actions was the goal of permanent occupation, which would ensure endless war and the resultant
degradation of our liberty, our security, and our moral authority.

One by one, the whole country is turning against this war.
As Murtha said, "The country is way ahead of Congress on this issue."

The BFEE is in a mad panic - they feel it all slipping away from them.
If this was December 2006, that's be one thing. But we have three more years of this and the country one day
just might ask the president to resign if he keeps fighting the vast majority of Americans on his crazy war.

You heard it here, first.
I predict the country will ask the president to resign before his term is up.

W.H. attacks Rep. Murtha, Michael Moore
Scottie the Underbear says Demo-Hawk just like Moore

Congressman Murtha is a respected veteran and politician who has a record of supporting a strong America," said
Scottie the Underbear. "So it is baffling that he is endorsing the policy positions of Michael Moore and the extreme
liberal wing of the Democratic Party."   "This is not the time to surrender to the terrorists," said the Drama Queen.

Hey Underbear, have you seen the polls?
You're a liar, your boss is a liar and everybody hates you and your soldier-killing lies.
They say 59 percent of the military hates you, too!

All that "Michael Moore" talk does is remind people that he was right and you were wrong.

Subject: Candidate positions

Bart, how very...Republican...of you.
You are unable to explain why Senator Clinton voted as she did,

No, I was very clear in guessing why she voted the way she did.

...why she continues to support the war or why she hasn't yet,

Objection - assumes facts not in evidence.

unlike a dozen other Democrat senators, done a mea culpa for her vote,

It's a matter of timing.
They're busy crucifying that Marine Medal of Honor guy, Murtha.
They'd love nothing better than to make "Hillary Fonda" the focalpoint of 2008.
This way, the focus stays on Bush - is that OK with you?

so instead you suggest that,
"Maybe, just maybe, the senators who voted to let Saddam launch should explain their vote?"

I'd like to hear them explain their vote - that makes me a bad guy?
When the president and CIA say, "Saddam can hit us within the hour," and some senators
vote to ignore that threat, I'd kinda like to hear their reasoning. If they knew - for a fact
- that Bush was lying, why the hell didn't they call a press conference and say something about it?

If you can't defend your guy, then Swift Boat the other guy.
You've learned well, Pilgrim.

If the other guy can't defend himself, maybe he's mistaken.
And why does my asking the question turn you into a cheap shot attacker?
How many years have you been reading this page?
After 1658 issues, you've finally discovered the real Bart, the evil BFEE clone?

Maybe your Hillary hatred has blinded you...

"It's the worst nightmare scenario for the Americans because it undermines all their Saddam propaganda.
Saddam never pretended to be a champion of human rights. But the Americans are supposed to be the leaders
of the free world, while they're practising torture? How can they face their people? They should be ashamed."
--Abdel-Bari Atwan, Arab newspaper editor, on our Torture Monkey using white phosphorus bombs
on the people of Iraq, a country he claims he's trying to democratize,   Link

Subject: More on Plame's role in preventing WMD plants

Just to add a little detail to my claim that Plame was outed because she had prevented
the BFEE from planting WMD,  here's one place I saw an example by Wayne Madsen:

"According to U.S. intelligence sources, the White House exposure of Plame and Brewster Jennings was intended to
retaliate against the CIA's work in limiting the proliferation of WMDs.  The CIA Counter-Proliferation Division prevented
the shipment of binary VX nerve gas from Turkey into Iraq in November 2002.  The Brewster Jennings network in Turkey
was able to intercept this shipment which was intended to be hidden in Iraq and later used as evidence that Saddam was
in possession of WMDs. U.S. intelligence sources revealed that this was a major reason Bush targeted Plame and her network."

Priests in England, too
Child sex abuse went on for decades

For three decades between 1966 and 1995, a number of boys at the school endured sexual abuse
by the monks who taught there. These were the decades when Cardinal Hume was in charge.

Police established that by 1975, Hume was aware of the risk that Father Piers Grant-Ferris victimized kids.
Yesterday Grant-Ferris, 72, pleaded guilty to abusing 15 boys over a nine-year period up to 1975.
Some of these boys, boarders aged between eight and 10, were beaten for his sexual gratification.

So, this bastard knew that Grant-Ferris was beating children for his sexual gratification and did nothing?
That's is so Catholic, and it is so Catholic to help the rapist cover his tracks over the decades, you soulless bastards..
Not only are they sexually-suppressed perverts, beating kids to get off tells me they're Republicans, too.

In September, Father Greg Carroll, was jailed for four years after pleading guilty to abusing 10 boys from 1979-87.
York crown court heard that Carroll, 67, had admitted assaulting five other boys in the 1970s.

Worse still is knowing they've STILL not given this rape/violence epidemic any serious thought.
They just want it to go away.

...I guess Hume is next in line to replace Joey the Rat when he dies?

Fitzmas ramping up new Grand Jury

The federal prosecutor investigating the leak of a CIA operative's identity says he plans to present
information to a new grand jury, a sign that he is considering additional charges in his two-year-old probe.

Patrick Fitzgerald said in court filings that his investigation "will involve proceedings before a different grand jury"
than the grand jury which indicted "Scooter" Libby.

Fitzgerald obtained the indictment against Libby Oct. 28 on five counts of perjury, obstruction of justice and false
statements and said at that time that his investigation was nearly complete. However, he told attorneys for Karl Rove
that Rove remains under investigation for possible false statements in the probe into BFEE law-breaking.

Since then, a new wrinkle has been added to the case by the disclosure that (Hadley?) told Woody about Plame
a month before Novak betrayed America. Woodward answered Fitzgerald's questions Monday.

Subject: love that torture talk

What you propose is that our government be allowed to torture anyone for any reason that the president finds compelling.

Yeah, that's right.
I think the BFEE should be able to torture anyone for any reason.

You've been reading me for many years, PY, and you make that crazy accusation?

After all these years, I'm Cheney's twin?

Police: 54 guns found in teen's home
If that's not proof guns are bad, what is?

Police said Thursday they found 54 firearms and ammunition at the home
of David Ludwig, the 18-year-old accused of killing his girlfriend's parents.

According to a two-page "inventory return" filed Thursday in court, the search was
Sunday, hours after Michael and Cathryn Borden were found dead in their home.

Listed among the firearms were rifles and handguns.
Ludwig lived with his parents in Lititz. His father is a hunter.

Subject: torture

Bart, 99% of children born go on to do normal or incredibly beneficial things for society,
but because 1% grow up to be violent criminals then we should abort them all.

That way we save the trouble.
Is that how your argument for torture works?

Larry Bertoia

No, that's not how "my argument for torture" works.
You're not really aslking me to go thru the whole thing again, are you?

Marty's Entertainment Page

always has good stuff.

Random Thought...

I wish we had a Science-Tech editor here at bartcop.com  because there's always
something going on in Science and Tech and who has time to keep up with all that stuff?

For instance, I just glanced at the headline, but apparently those bastards at SONY
got caught adding a f-ing VIRUS to music CDs they were selling - those bastards!

New CDs by Neil Diamond and Celine Dion, and others, had these nasty viruses that would go
online without your knowledge and send back to SONY information about what you were doing
on your computer, those bastards.   Hey SONY, you bastards need to go fuck yourselves.

Tricking people into loading a virus on the PC is legal, but smoking God's Flowers is some big crime?

What the hell, ...I'm in this far, might as well look it up, now.

Bad things hide in PCs using Sony BMG software
  by Jefferson Graham of USAToday.com

When recipients click on an attachment, they install malware, which may tear down a computer's firewall
and give hackers access to your PC. The malware hides by using Sony BMG software that is also hidden
- the software would have been installed on a computer when consumers played Sony's copy-protected music CDs.

"This leaves Sony in a real tangle. It was already getting bad press about its copy-protection software,
and this new hack exploit will make it even worse," says Sophos' Graham Cluley.

This should be a big story, but you only hear whispers about it.
I think those SONY bastards should be punished for doing this.

...but it's times like this I wish we had a Tech Corner, written once a week by someone with good html skills.

Random Thought...

What would it be live in a backwards country that was invaded by America, and sometimes,
just no apparent reason, they attacked townspeople with a substance that made their skin catch fire.

Then, in a wild panic, the townspeople notice a lake so they jump in that lake only to discover
that their skin continues to burn, flames and all, even underwater.

That would be a real drag.

The world's only superpower has turned evil.

"New York loves it when Dick Cheney is in town.

       - David Letterman,

Bush meets man for Beer
Dream turns to disappointment for dude

Although respondents to a Pew poll taken prior to the 2004 presidential election characterized Bush as
"the candidate they'd most like to sit down and have a beer with," Chris Reinard lived the hypothetical
scenario Sunday afternoon, and characterized it as "really uncomfortable and awkward."

Bush asked Reinard if he had any hobbies, and Reinard told the president that he enjoys spending
weekends with his children on local lakes in his small aluminum boat.

"Mr. Bush, I mean George, seemed to like that, and I felt that we finally made a connection," Reinard said.
"But then he told me about this yacht with an Arab prince and they spent four hours landing a sailfish."

"It was a good story, but I just like catching a few bass with my kids is all," Reinard added.
"I know he didn't mean to make me feel bad, but still.""

Subject: Patriot Act a victory for Osama

The Patriot Act is a victory for Osama bin Laden whose goals were to take away our freedom.

Now the government has powers that move us towards Communism with a government that can spy
on it's own citizens, jail people without due process of law, and even haul people off to foreign countries
to be tortured. Instead of fighting for our freedoms, we surrendered them over the destruction of 2 buildings.

We are a nation of cowards who give away our liberties without a fight.
I would burn the flag in protest but our flag no longer has any meaning and is unworthy of burning.

An Unlikely Lonesome Dove

In his 37 years in the military, John Murtha won two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star with a Combat "V,"
and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. As a Democratic congressman from Pennsylvania for the past 31 years,
he has been a fierce hawk, championing conflicts in Central America and the Persian Gulf.

After Murtha stunned the Capitol with a morning news conference calling for a pullout from Iraq because our
"troops have done all they can," the denunciations came quickly."   Yesterday, he was called a coward.

Let's remember, God personally told Der Monkey to murder Iraq.
How can the war be wrong when God ordered it, Himself?

Does Bush care?  Does Exxon care? No, because...

They make over $100M profit each day,
...and by the way, fuck the poor.

Woody and Me
 Former Woodward believer wises up

"I lost interest in Woodward a long time ago. As someone who grew up and later worked in New York for much
of my life, he's always reminded me a lot of Mets' phenom pitcher Doc Gooden. Just like Woodward, Gooden burst
on the scene with two Hall of Fame seasons. And then, April after April, I kept waiting for the Gooden of 1984 and
1985 to come back, until the grudging acknowledgement he never would. Thirty years later, I can't tell you how glad I am
that I never became much like my former hero. Still, it's kind of sad to feel so jaded about Woodward's plight in 2005,
when I can still summon, however faintly, the way I felt in that geeky summer of 1973. I believed."

I'm so old, I remember when Woodward fought corruption, when he uncovered corruption.

...and now he is one.

Subject: Who's writing this war script?

I sure don't know BC but I damn well agree with you 110%.

There is NO way that 'terrarists' couldn't attack us here again and again and again.
If there are 'suicide bombers' in Iraq, there could obviously be suicide bombers here just as easily.
Why haven't we been attacked again?
If 'they' hate us so much, 'they'd' be over here blowing up everything in sight.

Something really smells rotten but then again, this is coming from a woman whose first thought after
9/11 wasn't Al Qaeda, but WAS:  George Bush.  I'm sticking with my gut on this one.

It's proven much more reliable than anyone in this administration.
They knew.  They let it happen.  They probably even assisted.

Whoever 'they' is, I hope in my lifetime they are caught and phucking hung.
