Subject: News about Delay

Hey Bart,
I just heard that Delay is not seeking re-election!

Whoopee... another RepukeLiekkkon bites the big one!
 Scott the Traveler

Dude, I want to see his dead ass before I celebrate.
I want to see his lifeless, naked and battered carcass on CNN like it's The Ootie, Cootie & Looty Show.

Once we're sure the witch is dead, we'll drink one, we'll smoke one, we'll do a little dance,

...and then we go right back at those Bush bastards..

Condi, War Crimes & the Press
by Robert Parry  as seen on  consortiumnews.com

 Link

 Excerpt:
Condoleezza Rice has shifted her rationale for the Iraq War from her bogus "mushroom cloud"
warning to her assertion that the Bush administration has the right to invade a country to eradicate
an "ideology of hatred."  Her claim puts her in violation of the Nuremberg Principle against aggressive war,
but the U.S. press seems more impressed with her stylish clothing and her political ambitions.

Republicans Hate Him, too
He's killing them at the polls

 Link

 Excerpt:
From Iraq to deficits, from immigration to port security, some of the most pointed criticism leveled at Bush
is coming from within his own party because the bastard must be stopped and the Dems are too afraid.
The rising GOP angst stems from Bush's deep slump in the polls and the growing unpopularity of the Iraq war.

But it also reflects a political reawakening as Republicans follow their own political interests in the midterms
as would-be 2008 presidential contenders seek ways to set themselves apart — from each other and from Bush.
Excerpt for John McCain - he's crawled up inside Bush's butt to get even closer.

"It's open season on him. George Bush has lost trust on too many issues," said presidential historian Tom Cronin.
"We saw it happen with Johnson, we saw it with Nixon. And now, sadly, we're seeing it with Bush."

But Johnson and Nixon eventually had the decency to step down.  Bush has no decency.
Bush is too blinded by his own perceived "greatness" to think about what's best for the country.

Pigboy calls alleged rape victim a "ho"
GOP Conventional Wisdom: 'Raped women asked for it'

 Link

 Excerpt:
On March 31, Rush Limbaugh referred to the alleged Duje victim as a "ho[]."
Limbaugh said that Sharpton was "trying to figure out how he can get involved in the deal
at Duke where the lacrosse team ... supposedly, you know, raped some, uh, hos."

Limbaugh's made the comment about a recent incident in Durham, North Carolina, in which
an exotic dancer was allegedly raped by three members of the Duke lacrosse team. The incident
has invoked further controversy because the black victim said her attackers used racial epithets.

Prompted by another caller to apologize for his words, Limbaugh said that he said it
because he was "running on fumes today," and called it a "terrible slip of the tongue."

But he then added that there are "some inconsistencies" in the case and rephrased his apology,
telling the second caller, "I regret that you heard me say it."

Once a vulgar Pigboy, always a vulgar Pigboy.
The Republican Taliban knows the true value of a woman.

"I say use 'em for parts, ... a kidney, ...maybe a cornea, but let's not kid ourselves.
That thing between their legs ...well, ...it  ...makes 'em stupid.
Hey, blame God for that, not me!
You can't blame me if I have the courage to speak the truth when nobody else will."

I have a question:
Does "running on fumes today"mean he's itching for some Oxy?

Subject: Jill Carroll

In what is being called a "Propaganda Video" Jill Carroll said:

1. The occupation of Iraq is illegal
2. The occupation is based on lies
3. That the insurgents are defending their country

All 3 of those things are true.
It is too bad it took a gun to her head before she told the truth.

It is also a shame that she later recanted the truth.

Supreme Court: Bush is all the Constitution we need
Defendents have no right to a trial, or charges being listed, or a lawyer

 Link

 Excerpt:
A divided Whore Court turned back a challenge to Bush's Imperial powers, rejecting an appeal from American
citizen Jose Padilla who is being illegally held without charges because someone made a claim he was a terrorist.

Chief Justice John Roberts and two others feigned concern about the loss of the Constitution, and said they would
"be watching" as though that was just as good as having the Constitutional right to a fair trial.

US Constitution
Bill of Rights
Amendment VI
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to
a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury, which district shall
have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the
nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the
witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining
witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense.

Does the Constitution say, "Unless the current president sees it differently?"
No, it says,  "In all criminal prosecutions..."

Bush and his appointed bastards have officially thrown away the Constitution.
For all we know, Padilla is nothing more than the unlucky bastard who happened to be standing
in the wrong place when this gang of thugs were looking for an example to be put in the spotlight.

Of course, Bush picked a "darkie," so it's not like he's grabbing us good white folks, so it's OK, right?

 Jose Padilla

 He's dark - Strike One.
He's been accused of a crime  arrested - Strike Two.
If he's still in jail, he's probably poor - Strike Three.

If we don't object when they throw poor darkies in jail for no reason,
who will object when they grab one of us?

Blix: Iran Years Away From the Bomb
Blix was right last time, too, but Bush wanted war reeeeeeeal bad

 Link

 Excerpt:
Former weapons inspector Hans Blix said Monday that Iran is a least five years away from developing
a nuclear bomb, leaving time for a settlement.  Blix said he doubted Der Monkey would invade Iran.

"But there is a chance that the U.S. will use bombs or missiles against several sites in Iran," he said.
"Then, the reactions would be strong, and would contribute to increased terrorism."

Blix said there is still time for dialogue over Iran's nuclear enrichment program, which Tehran insists
is for peaceful purposes but the West fears is part of a secret nuclear weapons program.

"We have time on our side. Iran can't have a bomb ready in the next five years," Blix was quoted as saying.

If Smirk gets no opposition this will happen.

The only opposition Bush has seen has been from the GOP.
The GOP stopped Harriet Miers, they stopped the Dubai ports deal, etc.
The Democrats are content to let Bush run wild.

This makes all the Hillary and Diebold discusions null and void.
Looks like Blair is getting the boot in England.

Subject: Bush's third term

I can't say I'm surprised by this.
I am holding out hope that it isn't true.

We all know that the pink tutu dems will fall all overthemselves to support Dubya on this one.

If they won't stand with Feingold to support censure, they don't have anywhere near the spine
to stand up to the inevitable media blitz/terroism scare spin that will accompany this.

 Zach

Zach, they intended it as a joke, but I'm not laughing.

Bush has made torture, murder and kidnapping legal.
He's peed on the Constitution and promised to do it again.

They're not going to turn over unlimited power to a Democrat.

DeLay Scoots Pooch
 Blames 'liberal Democrats"

 Link

 Excerpt:
The scumbag of scandal, Tom DeLay said Tuesday he is resigning from Congress in the face of tough
charges, closing out a career that blended fascism, public bribery and a bare-knuckled political style.

"The voters of the 22nd District of Texas deserve a candiadte who's not in bed with the Devil,
and not a campaign focused solely as a referendum on me," DeLay said in a statement.

DeLay reflected Republican concerns that the GOP could lose the seat in November, saying his love
for the almighty dollar drove him insane in his crooked political career and adding, "I refuse to allow
liberal Democrats an opportunity to steal this seat with a negative, personal campaign."

I still haven't seen his lifeless, naked and battered carcass on CNN.

Subject: "Wartime is not a time to weaken the commander in chief."

Bart, you hit it right on the head.

For me, the red flags went up when the 'War on Terror' was first announced.
Two assertions made at that time would virtually define the GOP attitude for the next 8 (plus?) years.

"The war on terror will take years, perhaps decades," we were told.
And oh, by the way, "It's not patriotic to criticize the Commander In Chief while we're at war."

If you can make that stick, what President wouldn't want a war to begin the day he takes the oath?
 Blue Dave from Red Ohio.

It's just like the Democrats to fall for it, too. Bush is the most lawless president ever
but he's apparently impeachment proof because our side is too timid to take a stand.

Letter to Stars & Stripes
"The worst president in U.S. history"

 Link

 Excerpt:
Three years after "shock and awe," now it's called "the Long War," just as the CATO Institute in 2003
said it would be. Last month, President Bush casually informed Americans that troops would remain
there past his second term, which ends on Jan. 20, 2009, and not a moment too soon.

What a disaster Bush will leave Americans when calculating the costs of his generational commitment
to "democratize" the Middle East. Columbia and Harvard economics professors estimate the U.S.
invasion/occupation of Iraq through 2010 will cost taxpayers $1 trillion, minimum.

Subject: 9-11 cover-up

Hi Bart -

Our government has given the thumbs up to the military and the corporations to dump every conceivable toxin
and radiation into every major water supply in our country.    They have allowed big Ag to dump neuro-toxins
and chemicals into our food.  Our produce is drenched in pesticides, fungicides and 15 other chemicals, all too
deadly to even be exposed to;  and we eat them every day.  They're anxious to kick social security out from
underneath us,  are stopping programs that feed our children, and in one word, "Katrina".   I could go on for
quite a while, it's a very long list.

Why is it not obvious as daylight that this government has no qualms whatsoever about killing Americans?
Where is the difficulty in making the teeny jump here?

They're killing us all right now with their usual m.o.,  while smiling, lying,  sidestepping, corporate profiteering
and sneaking around behind our backs.  9-11 was obviously an inside job,  planned long before der monkey
stole office. He was the perfect moron to push it on and they won the big lottery that led us right into an endless,
illegal, stupid war that they can now claim is grounds to make him our forever president.

These people are not stupid in any way, they are evil.
And we are in big, big trouble.

Angie in CA

Along those same lines, Randi Rhodes did a whole show a while back about how Poppy Bush and Rummy,
in their "off years" were on the boards of mega corporations that are injecting these weird growth hormones
in cows that make kids sick. Then your kids drink the milk and have to go to the doctor.   But don't worry,
Merck and Pfizer can rent you drugs to counteract those drugs to keep your children alive.

They poison us, then they rent us a "cure" that'll work as long as we pay their extortion demands.

People don't know history.
Rome was a republic for a few hundred years, albeit only propertied men had a voice, but there was
a type of representation.  After Augustus the Senate became a rubber stamp for the emperors.  Sound familiar?

Sadly we differ in a key way, the early Roman Empire waged successful wars with militarily brilliant leaders.

Rep. McKinney Guilty of Being Black?
Cops put their hands on her, she resisted, say Bob Kemper and S.A. Reid

 Link

 Excerpt:
Rep. Cynthia McKinney was stopped by a Capitol Hill police officer as she tried to go around a security
checkpoint in a House office building. Members of Congress are allowed to go around the checkpoints,
but the cops failed to recognize McKinney because of what the Republicans refer to as her
"Tina Turner peeing on an electric fence" hair style.

After calling to McKinney to stop, the officer touched her shoulder or arm.

Objection!
If writers Bob Kemper and S.A. Reid witnessed the event, they should just tell us what happened.
If they didn't witness anything, they should say, "Capitol police claimed..."!
The American whore press continues to replace facts with their editorial opinion, but then,
why should we expect any truth or accuracy from the Atlanta Whore Journal?

That prompted McKinney to spin around and the strike the officer, though there are conflicting reports
as to whether she slapped him, punched him in the chest or struck him with a cell phone.

Well Gee, if you're not sure what actions she took, if any, why not accuse "that crazy bitch"
of knifing those innocent white cops, because you know how "those people" like to carry knives,
 ...right Kemper and Reid?

DeLay, "Big" House, not House

 Link

 Excerpt:
The forever cautious BuzzFlash, where we always assume that the mainstream press will overlook the daily
onslaught of GOP lies and failures; where we believe that the Democratic leadership on the Hill talks tough and
then runs and hides; where we believe that the RNC and the White House will do anything to extend their powers,
including savaging the Constitution and trashing the nation -- well, this BuzzFlash is taking a few hours to celebrate!

When as treasonous and slimey a rattler as Tom DeLay bites the dust,
you just have to stop for a moment and recognize this is the real deal!

During five years of impenetrable betrayal by the Busheviks and RNC, it seemed like the patriotic BuzzFlash community
and other progressive Americans were like the protestors in Tiananmen Square. We just kept getting mowed down.

But here is a day that dawns without DeLay (so to speak, although he's not gone yet) -- and suddenly it's spring. \
We'll have a special jaunty bounce in our stride this morning, how about you?

Bush doesn't know you disagree with him. Nothing about you makes you of interest to George W. Bush
once you no longer agree with and support him. No degree of relationship (father, mother, etc.), no longstanding
friendly intercourse (Jack Abramoff), no degree of expertise (Brent Scowcroft), no essential importance (Tony Blair,
American voters) makes any difference. There is nothing you have to offer that makes Bush want to know you once
you have come to disagree with him. Your opinions and feelings now exist in a world entirely external to the mind of
George W. Bush. You are now just one of those "polls" that he pays no attention to. When you were on his side,
you thought that showed "integrity" on his part. It doesn't. It shows an absolute inability to learn from experience.

Subject: error you made

Bart, you said:

> "The Soviet Union had been collapsing for decades but the straw that broke Stalin's back
>  was the fact that they couldn't keep up with Von Reagan's insane spending spree. "

The first part is completely true, the second part is not.  Every  major economist AND political scientist agree
that the Soviet  system was going to collapse under it's own mismanagement by 1975.  It also helped that after
Leonid Brezhnev's death in 1982, many in  the Soviet leadership knew that their economy was faltering.
It certainly didn't help that after Brezhnev's successors Andropov  and Chernenko both died within 15 months
of assuming office, a  younger radical (relatively speaking), named Gorbachev could come  to power. Gorbachev
was extremely influenced by the social  democracies of Europe as opposed to the Leninist traditions of the  USSR.
It was Gorby who started the Soviet Reformation, (Glasnost) and eventually leading to the dissolution  of the USSR.

Only die-hard Limbaugh-Republicans credit Reagan with  "outspending" the Soviets and thus bankrupting them.
Gorbachev / himself /remarked that their whole response to SDI (Strategic  Defense Initiative, i.e. Star Wars)
was to alter their nuclear  missiles with a $1000 retrofit. [yes. That's a whole ONE THOUSAND  DOLLARS - ooooh!]

By mentioning Reagan alongside the collapse of the USSR is giving  credit where none is due.
