 The Enduring
Logic of Withdrawal
by Robert Parry
  consortiumnews.com
  Excerpt:
The U.S. military continues to sink deeper into
the quicksand of Iraq, not only with a
lengthening death toll but with damage to its
reputation from alleged atrocities like the
rape-murder of a 14-year-old girl and the slaying
of her family in Mahmudiya. The logic
of withdrawal holds that an American pullout
can protect the U.S. military from further
damage and stand as good a chance as any to limit
the spread of Iraqi violence -- and
encourage the Iraqis to send al-Qaeda and other
foreign jihadists packing.

 Bush Is
Dead To Me
by Mark Morford, one of the best
  sfgate.com
 Excerpt:
I was having cocktails recently with two lifetime
Republicans, each in his 60s, corporate businessmen.
Bush came up, as a topic, as a cancer, as a fetid
miasma in the air. They were both shaking their heads.
They were sighing heavily. They were both, in
a word, disgusted. The more conservative of the two said
he was so embarrassed and humiliated by this
president, by this administration, so appalled at all the war
atrocities and the wiretapping and the misuse
of law, the fiscal irresponsibility and the abuse of the lower
classes and the outright arrogance, that if the
Dems could somehow produce a decent moderate candidate
with a brain, he'd have zero problem switching
allegiances and voting for him.
 Or her.
I notice Mark Morford was smart enough not to mention her name.

  Excerpt:
Your emails arrive in my mailbox on a regular
basis begging for donations. Why?
You "Cut and Ran" from the presidential election
of 2004 after promising to see that all votes
were counted. You allowed that election to be
handed to the worst human being who has ever
occupied the office in spite of the fact that
the statistics showed that you were winning.
You have voted time and again to support the
corrupt, lying agenda of our wannabe dictator.
So why the hell do you think I should donate
one stinking penny to any of the DLC approved
Democrats in or running for Congress?

I think money would be better spent by sending it to the web sites that
are resisting Bush.
The Democrats are incapable of defending themselves - but bloggers
can and do fight back.

 Rape, Lies
and Murder
Bush's Army: a Few Good Degenerates
  counterpunch.org
  Excerpt:
Americans who get their propaganda from Fox "News"
or are told what to think by right-wing
talk radio hosts are outraged at news reports
that U.S. troops planned and carried out the rape
and murder of a young Iraqi woman. They are not
outraged that the troops committed the deed;
they are outraged that the media reported it.
Playing to this audience, Col. Jeffrey Snow told
AFP News that news coverage could cause the
U.S. to lose the war. In other words, what we
are doing in Iraq cannot stand the light of day,
so reporters must not report or the word will
get out.  Many Bush supporters believe that truth is
not on our side and must be suppressed. Yet,
they support a war that is too shameful to report.
Bush supporters are not true conservatives. They
are brownshirts with the same low intelligence
and morals as Hitler's enthusiastic supporters.
And they are just as resistant to facts.

 Let's review the facts:
1. George H. W. Bush: one to two bombs' worth

 2. Bill Clinton: zero

 3. George W. Bush: 4-6 nuclear weapons' worth

 --Think Progress,   http://www.thinkprogress.org/

The big difference is Clinton didn't get richer
every time he created a crisis.
By letting North Korea and that handjob in Iran
have nukes, Bush can say we need

Bart, you quoted the vulgar Pigboy,
 > "In 1998  Clinton gave the same speech
on WMDs in Iraq that
>  Bush gave four years later, but nobody
seems to remember that."
Uh, yeah... he did.  And then, after discussion
with and approval from the UN
(unlike Trifectaboy), bombs were dropped on the
problem sites.  And then,
Rethugs started chanting "no war for Monica!"
But after that, Iraq was boxed in and neutered,
and it was case closed.  And the Fatass
doesn't seem to want to remember all the Democratic
Senators who agreed that the
"WMD problem" had been dealt with, and especially
the Secretary of State who
 reiterated these facts, in 2002.
Oh, and that would be Colin Powell.

 Calling
All Suckers
  newsforreal.com
  Excerpt:
Liberals  look down on 'Wal-Mart Americans'
because they are natural born suckers.
And, as such have aided and abetted in the the
closest thing that we've seen to a constitutional
coup in American history. Oh, and because they
don't seem to care, in fact, like it.
We look down on them because, as a group, they
know more about current NASCAR standings
than they know -- or care to know -- about what's
afoot within the top ranks of their own government.
And, as we've learned at each election since
1994 - they vote.

How much has Bush screwed up?
Our best bet to stop North Korea rests with China.
We owe China a trillion dollars that Bush borrowed to give to the super-rich.
If we have a fight with China, Wal-Mart is out of business.
Wal-Mart is the biggest employer in America.
If somebody sneezes, this economy is going straight to hell, and poor
people
won't have any money for food, and that's sure to bring riots in the
streets.
If only the Democrats would wake the hell up...

 Bush Losing
TFM Support

A new Gallup poll shows that Bush's approval
below 50% and now stands at just 44%

dramatic drop compared to a December poll
when 62% of total fucking morons expressed support

The current poll, conducted by phone with 1,409

he is doing a good job, while 27% say he is
doing a poor job, and 29% don't understand the

Many people "oppose the war but support the troops."
Rotten war, brave soldiers.
I don't buy this at all. Although little Johnny

"The troops" are waging war against a civilian

between "insurgents" and "collateral" innocents
in the vicinity. When faced with frequent sniping, mines,
ambushes and treachery by supposed local "allies,"
even the best-trained occupation armies soon
become brutal, sadistic, cynical and demoralized.

The "Immovable" Object: These individuals
have committed numerous crimes, they have proclaimed
themselves above the law. Among these crimes:
waging an illegal war, lying to Congress, unlawful

 The "Irresistible" Force: Against this
"object," the "forces" of dissent are hopelessly weak and futile.
If the aforementioned conditions remain in place

media, and a naive and passive Democratic party
- then GOP victories in November and 2008 are assured.

 Subject: Bush "honoring" the
war dead
 Bart,
I read the story of a mother of one of the dead,
who had been invited to meet der Monkey.
The parents of each of the murdered soldiers
were kept in separate rooms, so they couldn't
talk to each other. The Monkey breezed into the
room with his posse, and said
"Ok, who we honorin' today?" showing that he
didn't even bother to try to remember the
names of the dead or their parents names before
he entered the rooms.
He continually refers to his presence at the funeral
of the kids he kills as an "honor" to the dead.
His cowardly AWOL ass isn't fit to tie the shoes
of these brave kids, let alone to consider his
presence as an "honor" to them at their funerals.
I weep for our nation, and its fallen heroes.
Kevin J. K

I think it was Cindy Sheehan who said, "He
kept calling me "Mom,"
as tho he was sooooooo close to each family that
he was free to take that liberty.
But, from what we see in the media, the soldiers still love the
lying bastard,
and the parents of the dead are ready to donate more sons to
the quagmire.
