"The true things that bind us together are the American flag and our common language.
And when McDonald's sends a different message, that causes resentment."
--Mayor Steve Lonegan (R-Ass) of Bogota, New Jersey, calling for a McDonald's boycott if
they don't take down a Spanish-language billboard advertising iced coffee,    Link

"Yo Soy El Army."
--Tagline for the U.S. Army Spanish-language ad campaign,

The mayor's right - we should all boycott the Army for "causing resentment."

The Enduring Logic of Withdrawal
  by Robert Parry

The U.S. military continues to sink deeper into the quicksand of Iraq, not only with a
lengthening death toll but with damage to its reputation from alleged atrocities like the
rape-murder of a 14-year-old girl and the slaying of her family in Mahmudiya. The logic
of withdrawal holds that an American pullout can protect the U.S. military from further
damage and stand as good a chance as any to limit the spread of Iraqi violence -- and
encourage the Iraqis to send al-Qaeda and other foreign jihadists packing.

"Now that he made that defiance, it's best for all of us to go to the U.N. Security Council

Bush Is Dead To Me
by Mark Morford, one of the best

I was having cocktails recently with two lifetime Republicans, each in his 60s, corporate businessmen.
Bush came up, as a topic, as a cancer, as a fetid miasma in the air. They were both shaking their heads.
They were sighing heavily. They were both, in a word, disgusted. The more conservative of the two said
he was so embarrassed and humiliated by this president, by this administration, so appalled at all the war
atrocities and the wiretapping and the misuse of law, the fiscal irresponsibility and the abuse of the lower
classes and the outright arrogance, that if the Dems could somehow produce a decent moderate candidate
with a brain, he'd have zero problem switching allegiances and voting for him.

Or her.

I notice Mark Morford was smart enough not to mention her name.

"After the invasion of Iraq failed to reveal any WMDs, the focus shifted to Bush's
lofty pledge to fight terror by spreading democracy. That hasn't worked very well either.
And now the White House faces new or growing challenges across the globe without a
consistent approach -- or, for that matter, a good sense of who's in charge."
     -- Dan Froomkin,    WaHoPo

Subject: screw Lance Armstrong

That lazy, one balled, greed-whore bitch is nothing more than an overpaid moron
that rides a bike for a living. 10 minutes after waving the flag like a House Republican
and stripping out of his U.S. Postal Service-sponsored bike suit, he's on TV selling cars for Subaru.

Some "American", eh?
I hope his bowels lock.

Keep Swingin' Daddy-O,
A Union Man in Louisville

Dude, I gots to know...
How can you work up that much hate for a guy who rides a bike?

Open Letter to John Kerry

Your emails arrive in my mailbox on a regular basis begging for donations. Why?

You "Cut and Ran" from the presidential election of 2004 after promising to see that all votes
were counted. You allowed that election to be handed to the worst human being who has ever
occupied the office in spite of the fact that the statistics showed that you were winning.
You have voted time and again to support the corrupt, lying agenda of our wannabe dictator.
So why the hell do you think I should donate one stinking penny to any of the DLC approved
Democrats in or running for Congress?

I think money would be better spent by sending it to the web sites that are resisting Bush.
The Democrats are incapable of defending themselves - but bloggers can and do fight back.

Subject: Kennyboy

Cheney didn't have Kenny Boy whacked, man.
Ken's retired to the Caribbean under an assumed name, maybe even some plastic surgery, eh?,
And Bush has sent him a nice fruit basket with a Thank-You card for it.

If you can buy a doctor for an autopsy (and we *know* you can in Houston) then you're done.
And you don't have the press to worry about.

45 million dollars, man.
Makes the purchase of an autopsy and a nice beachfront villa in Barbados child's play.
 Mike R

Dude, the only part you got wrong was the amount.
Enron once stole $500M from Cali in one day.
Kennyboy stole $45M before lunch every day for years.

"The biggest mistake we could make is to underestimate her. She's smart and she's tough.
She's very disciplined in all ways -- unlike her husband -- and I think she's formidable.
Plus, she already has $20 million in the bank."
-- McCain, afraid of a girl,  Link

Rape, Lies and Murder
Bush's Army: a Few Good Degenerates

Americans who get their propaganda from Fox "News" or are told what to think by right-wing
talk radio hosts are outraged at news reports that U.S. troops planned and carried out the rape
and murder of a young Iraqi woman. They are not outraged that the troops committed the deed;
they are outraged that the media reported it.

Playing to this audience, Col. Jeffrey Snow told AFP News that news coverage could cause the
U.S. to lose the war. In other words, what we are doing in Iraq cannot stand the light of day,
so reporters must not report or the word will get out.  Many Bush supporters believe that truth is
not on our side and must be suppressed. Yet, they support a war that is too shameful to report.

Bush supporters are not true conservatives. They are brownshirts with the same low intelligence
and morals as Hitler's enthusiastic supporters. And they are just as resistant to facts.

Dueling Quotes

"Facing increasing criticism on Korea, Tony Snow lashed out at Clinton. Snow accused
the Clinton administration of going to North Korea with "flowers and chocolates."
He said the Clinton strategy "failed" and President Bush had 'learned from that mistake.'"
      --Tony Snow,

Let's review the facts:
1. George H. W. Bush: one to two bombs' worth of plutonium
2. Bill Clinton: zero plutonium
3. George W. Bush: 4-6 nuclear weapons' worth of plutonium.
    --Think Progress,

The big difference is Clinton didn't get richer every time he created a crisis.
By letting North Korea and that handjob in Iran have nukes, Bush can say we need
that horseshit Star Wars shield that doesn't work to protect us from his many failures.

Subject: twisting the truth

Bart, you quoted the vulgar Pigboy,

> "In 1998  Clinton gave the same speech on WMDs in Iraq that
>  Bush gave four years later, but nobody seems to remember that."

Uh, yeah... he did.  And then, after discussion with and approval from the UN
(unlike Trifectaboy), bombs were dropped on the problem sites.  And then,
Rethugs started chanting "no war for Monica!"

But after that, Iraq was boxed in and neutered, and it was case closed.  And the Fatass
doesn't seem to want to remember all the Democratic Senators who agreed that the
"WMD problem" had been dealt with, and especially the Secretary of State who
reiterated these facts, in 2002.

Oh, and that would be Colin Powell.

(Yeah, I'm still alive!)

Rick Santorum (R-Bastard) behind

Calling All Suckers

Liberals  look down on 'Wal-Mart Americans' because they are natural born suckers.
And, as such have aided and abetted in the the closest thing that we've seen to a constitutional
coup in American history. Oh, and because they don't seem to care, in fact, like it.

We look down on them because, as a group, they know more about current NASCAR standings
than they know -- or care to know -- about what's afoot within the top ranks of their own government.
And, as we've learned at each election since 1994 - they vote.

How much has Bush screwed up?

Our best bet to stop North Korea rests with China.
We owe China a trillion dollars that Bush borrowed to give to the super-rich.

If we have a fight with China, Wal-Mart is out of business.
Wal-Mart is the biggest employer in America.

If somebody sneezes, this economy is going straight to hell, and poor people
won't have any money for food, and that's sure to bring riots in the streets.

If only the Democrats would wake the hell up...

Subject: science & logic

Because I'm a leftist and you're a centrist, we clash sometimes.
And since you are a devotee of "science and logic," read this:

The Advantage of Centrism

People who hold centrist political views have a built-in advantage
over those who who hold positions to the left or right of centre.

Centrists have no opponents who are far enough away from them
on the political scale to assert that they're mad..

But, *sigh* I know how hard it is to influence your thinking.
(You are a straight run on a railroad track.)

Dude, I'm only a centrist compared to the lefties who lose 49 states.
Like everybody, I don't get it when people disagree with me.

The Political Benefits of Terror

Bush has once again resorted to its old tactic - instilling fear in the American public
- in hopes of regaining control of both Houses of Congress come November.
Bush issues terror warnings to shore up his president's sagging poll numbers.

On Memorial Day weekend in 2004, 51% of Americans disapproved of the way Bush
was handling the war, according to polling results from Zogby, Gallup and Pew.

Out of nowhere, Ashcroft issued a warning that al-Qaeda "wants to hit America hard."
Ashcroft didn't release specific information because he didn't have any

Bush Losing TFM Support

A new Gallup poll shows that Bush's approval below 50% and now stands at just 44%
among total fucking morons. This represents a dramatic drop compared to a December poll
when 62% of total fucking morons expressed support for the president and his policies.

The current poll, conducted by phone with 1,409 total fucking morons between June 4-8,
reveals that only 44% of those polled believe he is doing a good job, while 27% say he is
doing a poor job, and 29% don't understand the question.

Subject: dividing up Iraq

Com'on, Bart.  Dividing up Iraq so that the Sunnis have oil would be easy for Republicans.
Nobody can gerrymander borders like they can.

Just ask Tom Delay to do it.

Jimmy the Law School Clerk.

Iraq pumps 2,000,000 barrels a day,
(and that was before the 2003 Halliburton Upgrade)
times today's oil price which is almost $74 a barrel
makes $148,000,000 Bush stole just yesterday

No wonder they were so eager to start a war

Bush's "Bring 'em on" death taunt is up to...

2540....2544 American victims

By Christmas, Bush will have killed
more Americans than Osama

Subject: from a Vietnam vet

I'm a military combat veteran and critic of our government's invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan,
and I DON'T SUPPORT THE TROOPS. I'll protest in the streets to end the war, and when
the troops come home I'll do what I can to see that they get the benefits and treatment they
need and deserve. That's my contribution to the troops.

Many people "oppose the war but support the troops." Rotten war, brave soldiers.
I don't buy this at all. Although little Johnny or Judy might have once been that nice kid next door,
he or she may now be engaged in massacres and atrocities that you can't or won't believe.

"The troops" are waging war against a civilian population, making little or no attempt to distinguish
between "insurgents" and "collateral" innocents in the vicinity. When faced with frequent sniping, mines,
ambushes and treachery by supposed local "allies," even the best-trained occupation armies soon
become brutal, sadistic, cynical and demoralized.

Immovable Monkey

The "Immovable" Object: These individuals have committed numerous crimes, they have proclaimed
themselves above the law. Among these crimes: waging an illegal war, lying to Congress, unlawful
incarceration of both citizens and aliens, illegal surveillance of private citizens, bribery, and much more.

The "Irresistible" Force: Against this "object," the "forces" of dissent are hopelessly weak and futile.
If the aforementioned conditions remain in place - "black box" unverifiable voting machines, a compliant
media, and a naive and passive Democratic party - then GOP victories in November and 2008 are assured.

Shirley goes it alone

While Garbage are on a break, Shirley Manson has started a solo album.
She reached out to Blue Nile's Paul Buchanan, asking him to join her writing efforts.

"Neither of us has ever written with anybody else before. It could be a disaster,"
Manson told Scotland's Sunday Times.

McCain = Waffleboy

Subject: Bush "honoring" the war dead

I read the story of a mother of one of the dead, who had been invited to meet der Monkey.
The parents of each of the murdered soldiers were kept in separate rooms, so they couldn't
talk to each other. The Monkey breezed into the room with his posse, and said
"Ok, who we honorin' today?" showing that he didn't even bother to try to remember the
names of the dead or their parents names before he entered the rooms.

He continually refers to his presence at the funeral of the kids he kills as an "honor" to the dead.
His cowardly AWOL ass isn't fit to tie the shoes of these brave kids, let alone to consider his
presence as an "honor" to them at their funerals.

I weep for our nation, and its fallen heroes.
Kevin J. K

I think it was Cindy Sheehan who said, "He kept calling me "Mom,"
as tho he was sooooooo close to each family that he was free to take that liberty.

But, from what we see in the media, the soldiers still love the lying bastard,
and the parents of the dead are ready to donate more sons to the quagmire.
