Quotes

"Rather than allow Bush to get credit for ending the war in Iraq,
Dems prefer to leave Iraq in play at least through the 2008 election
so that they can use it as a wedge issue..."
-- Michael Reagan, as sharp as his old man (not a compliment)  Link

  "I'm a FOX tool..."

So, after three years of wall-to-wall solidarity with "Stay the course, we're not
coming home until we achieve victory," Bush has suddenly morphed into the
"changing tactics guy who wants to end the war and bring the troops home,"

...but the Democrats won't let him?

Blackmail & Bobby Gates
    by Robert Parry

 consortiumnews.com

 Excerpt:
Gates could become the target of pressure or even blackmail unless some of the troubling
questions about his past are answered conclusively, not just cosmetically.

In the 1980s and 1990s, Gates benefited from half-hearted probes by the U.S. Congress and
the Executive Branch into these mysteries. The investigators - some of whom were Gates's friends
- acted as if their goal was more to sweep incriminating evidence under the rug than to expose
the facts to public scrutiny.

While giving Gates another pass might work for Official Washington, which always has had a
soft spot for the polite mild-mannered Gates, it won't solve the potential for a problem if other
countries have incriminating evidence about him. So, before the U.S. Senate waves Gates's
through - as happened in 1991 when he was confirmed as CIA director - it would make sense
to resolve two issues in particular:

Did Gates participate in secret and possibly illegal contacts with Iranian leaders from the
1980 election campaign through the Iran-Contra scandal of 1986?

Did Gates oversee a clandestine pipeline of weapons and other military equipment
to Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq starting in 1982?

Robert Parry should be called to testify about Gates on live TV.
If the Democrats rubber stamp another BFEE crook - we gained little or nothing last week.
What good is power if your intention is to kiss the ring of the crooked Fuhrer?

Rumsfeld charged with war crimes
Will he kill himself, like Hitler did?

 spiegel.de

 Excerpt:
A coalition of human rights groups has filed a criminal lawsuit against former Rumsfeld in Germany,
accusing him of war crimes. A first attempt to prosecute him in 2004 failed, but the activists feel
they have a better chance this time -- and they have a powerful witness on their side.

The complaint calls on the prosecutor to investigate whether high-ranking US officials
authorized war crimes in the context of the war on terror.

The complaint is being brought on behalf of 12 alleged torture victims, 11 of whom are Iraqi citizens
who were held at Abu Ghraib prison.  The twelfth man is Gitmo detainee Mohammed al-Qahtani,
a Saudi held as a would-be participant in the 9/11 attacks and held at Guantanamo since January 2006.

"There crimes are not the work of a few bad apples," said CCR president Michael Ratner.
"They were planned and executed at the highest levels of the US government."

Subject: McCain's suicide

Bart-mon,

It's not over yet.  McCain appeared with Lieberman on Meet the Whore.
Those two are on the same page about issue number one - Iraq.

The next day, Joe said that he wouldn't rule out caucusing with the GOP
if he didn't get Democratic props. That'd make the senate GOP again.

Look for Lieberman to switch sides...
Then McCain can put the gun down and live on.

Gunmen kidnap up to 150 in Baghdad
They'll be found Gonzalesed to death tomorrow

 Link

 Excerpt:
Gunmen dressed as cops kidnapped up to 150 staff and visitors at a Baghdad school Tuesday,
the largest mass abduction since Bush invaded. Three of those taken were later released.

Iraq's education minister ordered all universities closed until Bush gives them the security
he has been promising for years, saying he was "not ready to see more professors get killed.

"I have suspended classes at universities. We have no other choice," Abed Theyab said.
Theyab said he had repeatedly petitioned for more university security from the ministries
of Defense and Interior, who command the police, but had received none.

Subject: Rahm takes the CREDIT

I heard that slick Rahm Emanuel on Air AMerica taking credit for the House turn.

I did not listen to the whole thing but I am guessing the Washington folks are taking
all the credit and are giving none to Dean.

When Dean took over I slipped the DNC a few bucks for the first time in many years.
I also included a letter saying I would not give again if I did not like what they were doing.
I think Dr Dean had more to do with the results than the DLC's plant Rep. Emanuel
 Jim   Madison, WI

Jim, Rahm was in charge of taking back the House.
He did a great job.
Schumer was in charge of taking back the senate.
He did a great job.
Dean was in charge of coordinating the two.
He did a great job.

But Rahm is telling Carville to FO,
Carville's calling Dean "out of touch,"

Murtha has accused Hoyer of "Swift Boating" him,

Poker Democratic Senate
 Declaring independence was gamble

 pokernews.com

 Excerpt:
The wins in VA and MT came down to a fraction of a single percentage point. The latest tally
from Montana shows Dem-Tester, ahead of GOP-Burns by 2,850 votes. The point is clear
--- gamblers breaking to the Democratic side made the difference. The same held true in VA
where Dem-Webb beat Mavcaca by 7,000 votes. Given that 23 million Americans gamble online,
it's a mathematical surety that rather more than 7,000 of them live in Virginia and found themselves
energized to vote anti-Republican by the undemocratic manner in which the UIGEA was passed.

Last week:
Amazingly, I didn't win.
I was patient, waited until I had pocket Aces.

The flop came K-8-2, (no straights, no flushes) so I only bet a bit to keep the fish interested.
Next card was nothing, maybe a 7, and someone fell for my trap and bet 150.
I raised him to 300 and I think he raised me back, so I went all in.

I was right - he had a pair of Kings, and I had Aces.

He needed a third King to beat me and there were only two left in the deck.
He had no idea when he bet that he was a ten-to-one underdog.
I was a 92% favorite to win but - of course - the last card was a King
which just goes to prove there is no God, (except he thinks there is :).

Last weeks winners were:

JoeVolcano   $24

Why we hate James Carville
 Surprise - it's on huffington

 Link

 Excerpt:
So, James Carville says there's a move afoot by party bigs to oust Howard Dean as Chair.
I'm sure he's right. Since Tuesday, boy, it's got to be grating on the insiders that Howard Dean's
term as chair has been a rip-roaring success. Suddenly, the old fraternity of DC elite is losing its grip.

That means a loss on their bottom line, as state parties get more money and hire more local
consultants who understand the lay of the land in the real America , to run things in their parts.

But, either the Rajun one is smoking some of the finest crack DC has to offer, or he's trying to
furiously stoke little metaphorical puffs of smoke to fool the chattering class in thinking there's a fire.
Carville might be a little nutty, but I'm sure he's not suckin' on the glass pipe. So, I'll guess the latter
is true. He's hoping if he keeps saying Dean is on his way out, maybe it will be a self fulfilling prophecy.

I wish I could get some hard facts on this feud.
If there's a feud, I want to weigh in on it.

I keep reading, "Carville thinks..."
Stop telling me what he thinks, stop telling me what he hopes for - and just tell me what he said.
Can we get more quotes, and less "interpretation?"
(I guess asking for some context is just a pipe-dream.)

If only there was a place where we could get the facts...

"We cannot heal America if we continue with policies that are based on lies. We'll never
be able to bring closure to this Iraq matter unless we tell the truth about what happened.
So America needs a new approach of truth and reconciliation. This relates to the conscience
of this country. [We need] a sober reflection about the events that have transpired since 9/11,
with respect to Iraq. And until we do this, we will be trapped not only physically in Iraq, we'll be
trapped emotionally and spiritually in Iraq. We may never get out of Iraq if we don't tell the truth."

Why we hate Rahm

 sun-sentinel

 Excerpt:
In a world where congressmen refer to each other as "my distinguished colleague," Emanuel, 46,
is sometimes unable to get through a single sentence without several obscenities. His politics are
centrist, but his style is extremist. The top of his right middle finger was severed when he was a
teenager, adding to his aura of toughness--especially when he extends that middle finger, which
he does with some regularity.

You mean he's a fighter who doesn't wet himself when there's a fight?

Subject: election thoughts

Hey Bart,

As long as the Rape-ubs are thinking that "terrorists" won last week - you know - the candidates
that Cindy Sheehan, Michael Moore and The Dixie Chicks would vote for - can we petition the
Democrats to use "Not ready to make nice" as their theme song? It might also help the Dems to
remember how and why they got there.

Dude, you're asking a lot.
Karl Rove might not like it if they...

Wait - is Karl Rove gone?
Does that mean the Democrats can start speaking again?
Are Democrats free to say and vote and subpoena as they see fit?

Also have a picture of Santorum's kid thanking the Pennsylvania voters for their "support."
Ken Mehlman's #1 priority (as of last year) was beaten. Rick needed to go.

Breathing again in PA
 Steve's

That's one damn creepy picture.

To Man-on-dog's left, his young daughter. She looks to be about 10 or 11,
(25 if you look at her hands and decide) so why is she carrying a little doll?
Why is the doll dressed like her, ...or is she dressed like her doll?
And why are both wearing dresses designed at the OK Corrall?

And the poor wife, she knows she's getting beaten bad tonight.
The older daughter looks resigned to an attack of some kind.

Farther to the right is, I assume, Man-on-dog's only son.  (Is he his?)
Please God, let that apple roll a mile from the sap tree.

I'll bet a DNA test would reveal his Dad was Gomez Addams.
Or maybe Tucker Carlson.
And how many times, total, has Junior seen the Harry Potter movies?

Cute Kid Turns Killa

He'll never change

 Excerpt:
Following interviews with McCain and Lieberman, Russert said:
"And our viewers should know we extended invitations to the new Democratic leaders,
Pelosi and Reid. Both declined our invitation, but we hope they'll be here on a future Sunday."

There were, however, literally hundreds of other Democratic officials and candidates who had
just taken part in a historic election, as well as several other Democratic leaders, who did not run
as independents and did not appear on other Sunday-morning shows. And, yet, Meet the Press
apparently stopped asking after being turned down by its top two choices.

I don't mind so much that Specter is a traitor and a boot-licking whore.
That makes him just one of about seventy in the outgoing senate.

What I mind is how he pretends to stand up to Bush, makes a lot of noise about
"demanding serious hearings right away, because Bush has gone too far,"
...and then Bush calls him to the White House for "private consultation."

A day or two later, Specter announces at a big press conference that a compromise
has been reached with the White House like his last name was John "Red Ass" McCain.

Open Letter to Levin on Robert Gates
by former CIA analyst Ray McGovern

 consortiumnews.com

 Excerpt:
One need not be politically astute to see that the White House is again using John Warner to force
through the nomination of Gates this year, while the lame-duck Republicans still hold the majority.
That, of course, is par for the course. What is far more disturbing is press reporting that you intend
to acquiesce in that maneuver. You don't have to do that any more.

I am having a hard time believing that you would give Gates a pass, since I have so much admired
your courage in the past. But I fear that the many recent years in minority exile may have dulled
your edge and that you have gotten too used to unsavory compromises.

Read the fresh, documentary evidence adduced in award-winning investigative reporter Robert Parry's
recent article, "The Secret World of Robert Gates". Parry's article contains unique and highly damaging
information on Gates's role in the original "October Surprise."  Parry also provides fresh detail on Gates's
involvement in the illegal sale of weapons, including cluster bombs, to Iraq in the early eighties.

Yes, why was Gates selling illegal weapoons to Saddam while
he was carrying out the war crimes for which he's now on trial?

Yes, why was Rummy selling illegal weapoons to Saddam while
he was carrying out the war crimes for which he's now on trial?

Gates must be stopped.
Gates and Rummy are two peas in the BFEE pod.

Bush has never been weaker than he is right now.
Bush needs to learn than his days of steamrolling pink-tutu Democrats have ended.
If you need to, roll out that filibuster - let them threaten you with the "nuclear option."
They have lost almost ALL of their power.

You can stop grovelling now.

Or

you could just bend over and squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel like a stuck, little sow-coward
for the little Fascist bastard like you've been doing again and again for six, long fucking years.

When can I stop using this graphic?

Is Dane Cook funny?

 Link

 Excerpt:
Dane Cook has sold out stadium shows like Steve Martin and Richard Pryor used to do.
His albums rank with music stars on the sales charts and he's hosted SNL multiple times.

But is he funny?

"Everyone kills this guy," says Jim Breuer, former "SNL" cast member. "Not one comedian
comes on my show and says 'I'm so happy for him,' which is weird. ... They can't stand this guy."
Breuer says a lot of comedians "really feel this guy has stolen a lot of material" - the ultimate sin.

Cook seems to be a younger version of Carrottop.
I've seen him a dozen times or so and he's never made me laugh, not even a chuckle.

You hear that he's the hottest comic in the biz, you hear that he's outselling every comedian
so you tune in to see what all the excitement is about and there's no jokes, nothing is funny.

Rolling Stone asks: How can any comedian get as famous as Dane Cook has with no jokes?

I wonder the same thing.
Anybody have any answers?

Our motto for this year is - "No Anti-Bush Site Left Behind". So - if you have an anti-bush site and you are  choking on hosting fees or dealing with threats - let us know and we'll help keep you online.

We also have that strongest server side spam filtering on the planet.
Check out Marx Mail for info on how you can have a Spam Free Email Account.
