"It's sort of like punishing your child by saying, 'If you don't get your grades up,

Gingrich's War on 'Secularism'
 by Robert Parry

 consortiumnews.com

 Excerpt:
Gingrich is basing his political comeback, in part, on an assertion that the real bias in America
is against those who believe in religion and that "radical secularism" is oppressing them.
"This anti-religious bias must end," Gingrich told graduates from Falwell's Liberty University.

Gingrich's strategy appears to be to repackage the Right's lament about the "war on Christmas"
into a year-round campaign to make Christians view themselves as victims of evil, secularists and liberals.

"Secularism" is their Betty Bowers way of saying, "I'm closer to Jesus than you are,"
which is another way of saying, "I'm more insane than you are because I believe in
invisible ghosts that don't exist more than you do."

It sums up their position rather succinctly, I'd say.

(That's the first time I ever used the word 'succinctly.'
I had to look it up to get the spelling right.)

Bush's power grab
Right-wingers don't trust the bastard, either

 worldnetdaily.com

 Excerpt:
President Bush, without so much as issuing a press statement, on May 9 signed a directive that granted
near dictatorial powers to the president in the event of a national emergency declared by the president.
Directive NSPD-51 and HSPD-20 establishes under a new National Continuity Coordinator.

Undert this directive, if Bush determines a catastrophic emergency has occurred, he can take over all
government functions and direct all private sector activities to ensure we will emerge from the emergency
with an "enduring constitutional government."

Iin layman's terms, if Bush determines a national emergency has occurred, he becomes our dictators
so he can direct any and all government and business activities until he declares the emergency is over.

NSPD-51/ HSPD-20 makes no reference whatsoever to Congress, sufggesting that the powers
of the executive order can be implemented without any congressional approval or oversight.

So, a few days before the '08 election, if a bomb goes off, say, in New York,
Bush will legally become Dictator Bush until he decides he no longer wants to
be Dictator Bush, which would be never.  It's a damn dangerous possibility.

Shit like this just fuels those 9-11 rumors.
Bush would have to obey the law - if not for 9-11.
Bush would have to obey the Constitution - if not for 9-11.
Bush would have to enforce the Bill of Rights - if not for 9-11.
Bush couldn't steal $200M a day in Iraq - if not for 9-11
9-11 was the greatest day of Bush's life.

Bush wants absolute power for life - that's why he's not worried about his 28% approval.

Dems: We have just begun to Surrender
That's the spirit we've come to expect from our Quitters

 Link

 Excerpt:
Democrats may have surrendered in the first round with President Warmonger,
but they say theu have plenty of surrender left in them.

In the months ahead, lawmakers will repeatedly surrender on whether U.S. troops should stay
and whether Bush has the authority to continue the war. The Democratic strategy is intended to
surrender again and again until Bush gets tired of winning.

"I feel a direction change in the air," said Rep. John Murtha., chairman of the House funding panel.

Bush and Treason

 smirkingchimp.com

 Excerpt:
Was that Bush in the Rose Garden or was it Chubby Checker?

Bush was able to twist reason so savagely that I'm surprised that the press didn't get up and dance.
That is, except for the two correspondents whose children who were in danger from the terrorists.

Follow me here, because this is just precious.

1. Bush said that if we left before we defeated Al Quaeda that they would follow us here.

2. He said that we would leave if the Iraqi government told us to.

So, the guy who's looking out for us (when O'Reilly is on vacation)
would allow Al Quaeda to come here if the Iraqi Government said so?

Treason is outsourcing our country's security to a country that isn't even toilet trained.

Bart, so now that she's the Leading Democrat, is the Junior senator from New York
going to Fillibuster the Enabling Act for that on-going adventure in The Middle-East,
...inasmuch as she knows now what she knows now?
  IrishDave

That's a great question.
My guess is she'll try to avoid that, but in the end, she might do it.

It would make her the Lady who stood up to the Fascist bastards
when all the men were wetting their pants in fear at the feet of mighty Dictator Bush.
That's the kind of story that would make its way into the history books.

My guess is she's going to run for president only once, and this is it.
I think she'll do what it takes to win, her being the calculating, cold-blooded barracuda bitch.

But why do that if the Democrats are just going to stab her in the back?

This is the knife they'll use, the one they used on Bill.

Subject: why they hate Her

Bart,  I always took your rants about Hillary haters with a grain of salt.
Then, I made the mistake of commenting on In These Times regarding an anti-Hillary article that was
clearly a thinly veiled GOP attack piece.  For the last three weeks I've got to read an endless stream
of some of the most bizarre crap imaginable that has been showing up in that article's comments section.

The sick part is how many of these loons are without a doubt sincere liberal Dems.
I mean, seriously, how stupid do you have to be as a liberal to link to a site run by
dyed-in-the-wool NAZIs as PROOF that Hillary is a corrupt fiend?

I need a drink.

PS. did ya hear that Kerry (of all people) voted against the senate kiss-ass blank check for bushiekins?

I believe Obama and Hillary voted against it, too.

Family grieves tortured soldier

 Link

 Excerpt:
The front steps of Joe Anzack's old high school became a makeshift shrine of flowers,
flags and balloons, marked with a sign reading: "You're our hero."

The 20-year-old soldier's Web page was also flooded with condolences on Thursday, a day after
his tortured-to-death body was found in the Euphrates River following his abduction in Iraq.

"They told us 'We're sorry to inform you the body we found has been identified as Joe,'"
his aunt, Debbie Anzack, told The whoe AP while choking back tears. "I'm in disbelief."
"We said a prayer for the other two boys, then sat around and talked about Joseph," said Joe Sr.

But the truth is, crying won't help you, praying won't do you no good.
Leaving Iraq is how you save more lives - praying is ridiculously ineffective.

As time goes by, more soldiers will be kidnapped and tortured to death.
When that happens, people will pray for them.

Bird drops a load on Bush
Even Mother Mature knows he's lying

 Link

 Excerpt:
As Bush took a question about his corrupt Attorney General, he remarked,
"I've got confidence in Al Gonzales doin' the job."   Simultaneously, a bird left a splash
on the Monkey's jacket, which Bush stuck his hand in several times.

Since it's all about spin, Dana Perino quipped, "Everyone knows that's a sign of good luck."

Bart,
Unconditional support for Democratic front runners despite their lack of independence from the
fascist plutocracy is precisely what made the Iraq "compromise" and the secret free trade deal possible.

Are you crazy?

YOU are an obstacle to the ending of the Iraq war and the various other tyrannical precedents set by
the Bush regime because of your unconditional support for that BushCo francise known as Hillary Inc.

You can only play the hand you're dealt.
Would the war end if I supported Kucinich?

Please wise up and see the denizens of the DLC for what they really are: partners with the BFEE
playing good cop to their bad cop to get their joint agenda enacted.  Hillary is on Bush's team.
What is it going to take for you to realize that?

Subject: Cowards!

The Democrats came in with the biggest mandate we've see in a long time,
so what the hell are they afraid of?

This vote has not endeared them to anyone, so it can't be political fear.
They are pissing off the very people who put them in office. They have to know that.
They may be cowards, but they aren't dumb.

Could it be that the Dems are afraid of what Bush will do, if backed into corner?
The Dems can be a spineless bunch, but this time it is more than cowardly, it is just damn strange.

What does one do with a psychopath/sociopath in the White House?
 Dot

I thought they were on the right track - sending Bush bill after bill calling for troop withdrawal.

That way, next summer, our front runner could say, "We tried our best to end this war but
that crazy Bush vetoed our efforts 16 times. We can't do what the people want unless
we have a super-majority in both houses so vote Democrat and let the peoples' will be done."

But noooooooooooooooooooooooo.

They thought  bending over would be a better plan.

Subject: my Michael DelGiorno wikipedia entry

DelGiornio left KFAQ for WWTN in Nashville in April 2007 on the heels of being banned from
Olklahoma casions for theft and other "bad behavior," regarding one of the female employees,
and is trying to keep the facts from the public so as not to be rejected by Nashville Christians
who the faith-based market serves.

DelGiornio's corruption and dishonesty were recently revealed when banned from Olklahoma casinos
for stealing chips and other 'bad behavior,' as reported by Tulsa Today. DelGiorni's on-air "apology"
obfuscated the facts that reveal DelGiorno's own deceit and corruption, despite a carrer based on
'attack radio' (and violent) regligious extremism.

DelGiornio lied about the nature of his bannings in a religious steeped 'apology' on the air,
and then left town (his home-state of Olklahoma) in discrace. HE hopes to continue his
broadcasts to unsuspecting Nashvillians.

 Excerpt:
Rudy claims to be tough on criminals.
In some cases, he is - unless the criminals hire him to be their lawyer.

The people who make OxyContin did something horrible:
They sold a drug they knew was addictive and acted like it wasn't.

The makers of OxyContin got off easy when they agreed to a $600 million fine.
Three of their top executives paid an additional $34 million. No jail time.
It was an wimpy settlement with a company that sold more than $9 billion of OxyContin.

The reason for the government's light tough was found in the WaHoPo.
Rudolph Giuliani was a lawyer for the company that makes OxyContin.

A black man sells a dime bag of dope and goes to prison for many years.

Rich, white bastards hook thousands of people on synthetic heroin, but when they get caught
they're rich enough to buy off the American justice system so all they have to do is give back
about 8 percent of their profits and they're back on the streets, ready to commit more crimes.

Welcome to the dustbin of history.

The squalid ending of Wolfowitz's glittering career, bickering over lies about payments to his girlfriend,

the intellectual field marshal pulverizing the opposition with the artillery of his arguments, reduced to using
a Washington lawyer to make fine points. His class enemies - the CIA and the Baathists, the State
Department and the McGovernites - had retreated under his barrages, but he found himself at last
whining of persecution at the hands of the sort of bureaucrats he had brushed aside throughout his long rise.

Gore on Fire

 wehatehillary.com

 Excerpt:
I saw Al Gore talk at a book signing this evening. He was supposed to talk for a short time,
take questions and sign books, but he just got going an gave one of the most inspired, intelligent
articulations of the current threat to the American experiment and our democracy that I have heard.

He was just on fire.

Gore says our country's problems go beyond the manipulations and corruptions of Bush and Cheney.
He talks about what has happened to this country that we could have ever allowed a Bush and Cheney
and their lies and evasions and incuriosity to take the reigns of our government....

How could we have allowed these monsters to seize power?
I believe it started with Gore's pitiful performance in Florida in 2000,
then that was followed by Kerry's pitiful surrender in 2004.

How we got screwed is not a mystery.

Iraq pumped 3.5M barrels daily before Bush invaded
and then they got their 2003 Halliburton upgrade

Bush is stealing $220,000,000 every day.

No wonder they were so eager to start a war,

stealing  $220,000,000 every day.

It's the biggest theft in Earth's history.

Exxon made $10B profit in 90 days
$100M a day - all profit - because Bush started a fake war

 Link

Bush's "Bring 'em on" death taunt is up to...

3,434....3,441 American victims

Are these numbers correct?
7 more families destroyed by Bush greed since yesterday.
19 more families destroyed by Bush greed the last three days.
21 if you count the families of the kidnapped.

...and how much did BIG OIL make yesterday?
Exxon makes $108M - every day

Bush can live with that,
because Iraq's oil wells have no meters
and his front company is moving to Dubai.

 $100M a day,
$200M a day,
$300M a day - where's that money going?

Bush has killed more Americans than Osama.

Dems sign blank check for bloodshed

 opednews.com

 Excerpt:
Congress has demonstrated its unconditional love for Bush's bloody quagmire by handing the
war profiteers another $100 billion worth of good reasons to keep the war in Iraq rolling alonge.
And there was Bush, whose military experience consists of draft-dodging, going AWOL, and
finishing his term of duty as grounded fighter pilot, calling a press conference to inform us for
the umpteenth time that the only way to the keep the terrorist at bay is by allowing the
slaughtering in Iraq to continue; forever apparently.

Could Hillary, Obama and Kerry exercise more control over our surrender monkeys?
Seems like they could scold or threaten them into compliance.

War vets leaving GOP?

 washingtonmomfly.com

 Excerpt:
In 2004, 60 percent of military voters polled by the Military Times identified themselves as Republican.
Today, that number is down to 46 percent, or less than half.  The reason for this change is obvious:
Iraq has gone from bad to worse.  Afghanistan, too, is in trouble.  Many Democrats hope that disaffection
with the GOP among members of the military will translate into votes for the Democratic Party.
