Blockhead Bush Kills
  by Ray McGovern

 consortiumnews.com

 Excerpt:
Bush is convinced, in the face of all evidence to the contrary, that he is on the right course
in the war in Iraq and the struggle against terrorism. He says he will not change his mind.

Thus, we are at an historic moment; and we would be well advised to see what light historians
might shed on our current predicament in Iraq and the basic (but unanswered) question as to
why so many people resort to terrorism against us.

Historian Barbara Tuchman addressed this kind of situation.
Tuchman wrote: "Wooden-headedness plays a remarkably large role in government. It consists in
assessing a situation in terms of preconceived fixed notions while ignoring or rejecting any contrary signs.
It is acting according to wish while not allowing oneself to be deflected by the facts."

Time for Action

Conyers has said that if he gets 3 more members of congress to back him, he will begin Impeachment
proceedings against Cheney with or without Nancy Pelosi.

Bush's Executive Order to ban all Iraq War Protests. He can freeze your assets and property for protesting.
This is outrageous. An executive order only becomes law if Congress doesn't overturn it within thirty days

Last week Congressman Peter Defazio of Oregon, a member of the Homeland Security Committee, asked
to see the documents on how Bush will govern after a significant "Terrorist" attack, and was denied.

The French Connections

 Link

 Excerpt:
France, like most of Europe except Scandinavia, lagged far behind the U.S. when it came to getting online.
Over the last few years the situation has totally reversed.  As the Internet has evolved, as dial-up has given way
to broadband, it's the United States that has fallen behind.

The numbers are startling. As recently as 2001, the percentage of the population with high-speed access in Japan
and Germany was only half that in the United States. In France it was less than a quarter. By the end of 2006,
however, all three countries had more broadband subscribers per 100 people than we did.

Bush won't be happy until we're last in everything.
Is he planning a pennies-on-the-dollar fire sale of America?

Our old friends at  impeachbushcards.com

Subject: tightrope

fBart,

I don't get how people can't see that Hillary especially has to walk an extremely fine line if she wants to win.

If she is aggressive she is a pushy woman.
If she is passive she is not strong enough for the job.
If she pushes impeachment she has a controversial personal agenda.
If she is against the war she is anti-military and too weak,
if she is supports the war she is just as warlike as Bush
(and there is no difference between dems and repubs so vote Nader).

Hell, I read one article that implied she was showing too much cleavage
and in the same article implied that she was dowdy. I see Hillary as possibly
the most disciplined candidate in my lifetime and that includes Adlai Stevenson.

I hope she is elected, and if/when she is, she will surprise the hell out of us.
 John

If she can get past her party I think she'll win it all.

Running out of troops

 Excerpt:
The head of the army has warned that Britain is almost running out of troops to defend the country or fight
in military operations abroad. The warning by General Sir Richard Dannatt, chief of the general staff, to fellow
defence chiefs comes at a time when the army is asking for a big increase in reservists to be deployed in
Afghanistan, reflecting a crisis in Britain's armed forces. In a secret memo he says: "We now have
almost no capability to react to the unexpected." Reinforcements for emergencies or for operations
in Iraq or Afghanistan were 'now almost non-existent.

So you came here and didn't call me?
 Long time pillar

I couldn't find a way to make the Hempfest happen.
The crux was finding a venue and there wasn't much I could do from Tulsa.

If I knew then what I know now, we could've met at the flagpole in this park on Columbus.

We could've gathered there and smoked one and made a plan, but I didn't know that then.
I have a dozen good friends in th NoCal region, (but none of them mean more to me than you)
but without a place to gather, my IQ of 64 failed to come up with a plan I could gamble with.

We met with one person, The Pope of Reality, Marc Perkel.

So I failed to disclose that we were coming.
If anyone knows a way we can still make this happen,
I'm 1/16th credit away from another round trip for two on Southwest Airlines.

My BFF Scott, who sent me & Mrs Bart to Hawaii a couple of years ago,
said February is a good month to vist, so we're still free to make this happen.

We could use one of these...

Yeah, a $7M Cali-mansion with a view is maybe stretching it,
but we can't party without a place to party, unless it's in a public park..

Hell we could meet at the top of Twin Peaks.

What's the deal with Chris Angel?

Video of him floating over the Luxor

I watched his TV show, and he flew around a golf course.
Since people can't fly, I knew it was a trick (cause I'm smart - not stupid, like they say)

You could tell by the way he "flew" that he was attached to a crane or a helicopter
and his "witnesses" all said "Watching him fly was true magic."

So I told Mrs Bart, "If this guy could really, he'd fly over The Strip in Las Vegas,"
and then he sorta does that in this video.

Since the Luxor's super-bright light was on him, it would also illuminate a copter,
so how did he pull off this trick?

Earlier in this Luxor show, he went to the top floor inside, climbed over the wall and "floated"
down to the floor, but again, the way he "flew" you could tell he had wires on his back, so the
"Ooohs and Ahhs" crowd must've been paid shills because nobody said, "Hey Buttmunch, a
Anybody can do that with wires attached," but how did we do the outside "flying?"

Please don't write and say, "He can't really fly, Bart." because I already know that.

I just got a little pissed knowing he was paying people to say, "There are no wires,"
so who knows how he pulled this off?

Pelosi talks about contempt charges

 sfgate.com

 Excerpt:
Nancy Pelosi said the House will bring contempt of Congress charges against Harriet Miers this week.
Asked about impeachment, Pelosi said, "Look, it's hard enough for us to end the war. I don't know how
we would be successful in impeaching the president." She also admits that calls for impeachment are
'across the board across the country. It's not just the left.'"

Nancy, Stop TALKING about filing charges and file the damn charges.
Also, if Bush tells you to FO and die on congressional oversight, you'll have to impeach him.
We can't have an even more openly-criminal president than we have now.

Subject: why people turn to the web

If you want to know why the "legitimate media" is losing market share, this is why.
I just found this article and it's pretty shocking that we allow this to happen and apparently without notice.

Bush Criminalizes Antiwar Movement

 Link

 Excerpt:
The Executive Order entitled "Blocking Property of Certain Persons Who Threaten Stabilization Efforts in Iraq"
provides the President with the authority to confiscate the assets of  "certain persons" who oppose the US led war in Iraq:

"I have issued an Executive Order blocking property of persons determined to have committed, or to pose a significant risk
of committing, an act or acts of violence that have the purpose or effect of threatening the peace or stability of Iraq or the
Government of Iraq or undermining efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq or to provide
humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people."

In substance, under this executive order, opposing the war becomes an illegal act.

I don't know it it's actually targeted at the anti-war movement as the writer suggests but I can see where he might
come to that conclusion. What I find more shocking is that this didn't make the mainstream news.

Marc Perkel

Also, last week, when Bush refused to allow his cleaning lady (Harriet Miers) to testify,
he was saying, "Congress has no oversight powers in this Bush administration," which is
a violation of the Constitution - a regular habit for this gang of thugs.

Will the Democrats hold Bush accountable?
Or will the GOP step in, sensing sure death for their party in '08?

Subject: Dennis Miller list fake, check SNOPES

Hey Bart, before I even got a few sentences into your Dennis Miller thing there,
alarm bells started ringing and I went to Snopes and typed in Dennis Miller.

Really?
Which sentences set off your alrm bells?
To me, it sounded just like the whore Dennis Miller has become.

It was the first one on the list, and they called fake.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/miller.asp

This type of shit is always attributed wrong.
George Carlin usually gets the worst of it.
You should have picked up on it though.

Really?
If the story said, "Bush told the Gold Star Mothers to go to hell," and I printed that
I could see where someone could say I should've used my head a little more.
But I'm curious - which sentences sent your bullshit meter barking?

Regardless of how stupid the list is, I just hate to see stuff like this perpetuated.

Cheers,
-colinart,

Me, too, which is why I always publish the facts if I'm corrected.

BTW, Snopes said:

"The piece is written in something approximating his style, and nothing in the text
is all that far removed from comments he is known to have made on several TV shows."

You're right - I hate those, "Jane Fonda passed the POWs note to the Viet Cong officer," lies,
but when it comes to right-wing handjobs who love Bush, it's hard to tell real from parody.

Today's comedians have trouble mocking Bush because he's such a f-ing loon up-front.

Subject: Dennis Miller

Hey Bart; Miller screwed over his own career he went from performing in front of crowds that were young,
hip and smart to performing for people that don't get  most of the references he makes in his act. Does he really
believe Republicans understand half his jokes? Bush supporters have a hard time keeping up with "The Cat in the Hat"
so I doubt they'd know the 16th century philosopher Dennis is referring to in his joke.

Dennis was in Detroit pimping his new radio show and he's is now claiming he's more of a libertarian and he
can't understand where the Republican label came from. I guess Dennis forgot when the California state GOP
tried to recruit him to run against Diane Feinstein and him praising/defending Bush ever chance he gets.

I guess Dennis has a fuzzy memory about those times.

Warning from Paul Craig Roberts
Reagan cabinet member says police state coming

 rawstory.com

 Excerpt:
"Unless Congress immediately impeaches Bush and Cheney, a year from now
the US could be a dictatorial police state at war with Iran."

Roberts believes instead that Cheney and Rove intend to use a renewal of the War on Terror
to rally the American people around the Republican Party. "Something's in the works," he said,
adding that the Executive Orders need to create a police state are already in place.

"The administration figures themselves and prominent Republican propagandists ... are preparing
us for another 9/11 event or series of events," Roberts continued. "Chertoff has predicted them. ...
The National Intelligence Estimate is saying that al Qaeda has regrouped. ...
You have to count on the fact that if al Qaeda's not going to do it, it's going to be orchestrated. ...
The Republicans are praying for another 9/11."

Subject: Generation Chickenhawk

That story on Generation Chickenhawks was right on!

I work with a couple of 20 something chickenhawks who think military service is a "career choice"
and they just made a different choice.  Forget that they had parents to pay for their college education,
car and first apartment while their careers got off the ground.

Besides that, they are woefully ignorant.  I asked one of them what habeas corpus was
and he thought it had something to do with after your death. God help us!

The day I see a recruitment ad on TV where a rich, white kid jumps out of his Beemer, runs into
his parents house, (in a gated community, of course) and tells them he is joining the military,
then I'll believe they see this as the cause of their time.  They make me sick.

In prison, it's 5-to-1 blacks vs whites

 Link

 Excerpt:
Blacks in the United States are imprisoned at more than five times the rate of whites, and Hispanics are
locked up at nearly double the white rate, says a study by a criminal justice policy group.

The report by the Sentencing Project, a Washington-based think tank, found that states in the Midwest and
Northeast have the greatest black-to-white disparity in incarceration. Iowa had the widest disparity in the nation,
imprisoning blacks at more than 13 times the rate of whites.

Such figures "reflect a failure of social and economic interventions to address crime effectively," as well as
racial bias in the justice system, said Marc Mauer, the group's executive director.

Vermont, New Jersey, Connecticut and Wisconsin incarcerated blacks at more than 10 times the rate of whites,
the group said, citing Justice Department statistics from 2005.

Election prediction

According to Bushflash  (not to be confused with Buzzflash...)

It is my studied practice not to slander any candidate running for president on the democratic ticket,
but for the duration of the forthcoming campaign, I must make one exception: Hillary Clinton.

If George W. Bush was somehow able to run again for a third term against Hillary Clinton,
and even if, at the eve of the election, Bush's approval ratings were still at 28%,
you know who would win by a landslide?

George W. Bush- and this time, he wouldn't even need to resort to fraud.

Hillary Clinton is unelectable- period.

Wow!
Compared to Bushflash, Arianna and Kos are madly in love with Her.

Seriously, how much can you hate a woman?
Bushflash states for a fact (I wonder if he gambles?) that Bush would beat Her.
Of course, he cites no evidence or polls or statistics - because he can't.

Every scientific national poll says the Dems are going win - BIG time - next year and she's
15-25 points ahead of the pack, but Bushflash says Bush would beat Team Clinton?

 Three minute video from  blackheritage.ws

Whore CNN

I semi-watched CNN for hours and hours while working on this page Saturday.

Every hour, they ran a piece Candy Crowley did praising Obama. Crowley interviewed a
black man who said he loves Bill Clinton, but he's not yet willing to give his vote to Hillary
because he's not sure it's good to have another Clinton in the White House so soon.

Fine, that's a valid opinion - but every hour?

If CNN wants Obama elected, they should just come out and say so. But it's cheating and
whoring to pretend you're giving all sides equal treatment, then find a black man who's reluctant
to vote for her and then run that every hour to be sure everyone knows that blacks hate Hillary.

It reminds me of those Maureen Dowd columns where she goes to a Hillary fundraiser in New York,
talks to 200-300 people, then does a complete column on the three disgruntled Democrats who are
closet Hillary haters (who spent $1000 to get in) and pretends she's taking the pulse of the mation.

I don't expect fairness from America's media whores, but running the "Obama is great, and we don't
need another Clinton in the White House" piece every hour makes me wonder if Murdoch bought them.

Did Cheney pardon himself Saturday?

As far as I know, there's no law that says the president has to immediately
