"Reagan provided the stylistic model for Republican leaders ever since he first ran:
tough-talking, moral clarity, inspirational rather than tactical in rhetoric, someone who
will stand up to dangerous foreign enemies. Bush fits in that model, and so does Rudy.
This style and these attributes are as important, if not more important, than particular
issue stands to many voters."
-- a "TOP" GOP operative, as quoted by Rich Lowry, liar and whore  Link

 So they admit it's OK if Rudy is a cross-dressing, pro-gay, thrice-married,
pro-abortion gun-grabber, as long as he talks tough?

They want to win so bad, they'll line up behind "a baby killer?"

Why We Write
 by Robert Parry

 consortiumnews.com

 Excerpt:
There is no more effective way to short-circuit democracy than to get large segments of the population to buy
into a made-up reality, while keeping other citizens so uncertain of the truth that they are politically paralyzed.

When autocrats stage a coup, one of their first actions is to grab control of the radio stations and close down
independent newspapers. In an advanced society like the United States, that task is more daunting because
the seizure of media control must be done more subtly and gradually.

Like the proverbial frog that would leap to safety if tossed into a pot of boiling water but would die if the water
were slowly brought to a boil, the American people have been lulled into lethargy, either not detecting or not
acting upon changes that were occurring in the U.S. media and were eating away at the foundations of the Republic.

Now, only at this very late stage - as the Bush administration, with the complicity of Congress and much of the
Washington news establishment, keeps turning up the heat - more and more Americans are awakening to the
threat but remain unclear what to do.

Quotes

"Too often, patriotism is defined as endorsement of any war launched by U.S. politicians.
But true patriotism has a deeper meaning. In some cases, it can impel conscientious Americans
to try to prevent their country from plunging recklessly into unnecessary combat that kills
multitudes of people and costs billions of taxpayer dollars. The Iraq mess is a supreme example."
-- Charleston Gazette Editorial,  July 2004      Link

Subject: gas prices

If Bush is really controlling gas prices he's doing a heckuva job
because we are paying $3 per gallon and the Brits are paying eight per gallon.

Cheney likes to kill helpless animals

 Link

 Excerpt:
While most people are lamenting the violence in Pakistan, Burma, Iraq, etc., it's not enough bloodshed for Cheney.

Last month in a caravan of 15 sport utility vehicles, Cheney made his way to Clove Valley Rod & Gun Club
for a day of controlled bloodletting. Like Cheney's last visit, the club, which costs $150,000 a year to join,
was a fortress with Blackwater-style snipers "protecting" the vice president's right to shoot tame birds.

So, like Bush, Cheney relaxes by killing the helpless - for his f-ing amusement.
He gets away from the horror of his failed war by killing doves with clipped wings.
He almost makes Bush's "frog-blasting" seem humane by comparison (not a compliment).

Yet they attack us when we point out the obvious.
Remember when Rep Starke (sp?) said Bush & Cheney got wood from violence?
The world came down on him, from all points left and right, but he just told the truth.

How can you man-handicapp birds so powerful bastards like Cheney can cut them down with bullets?

...and you wonder why we're in Iraq?

Musharraf - Bush clone

 sfgate.com

 Excerpt:
"The war on terror" made me do it. That's the excuse that works for George W. Bush to rationalize
his assaults on the rule of law, from arbitrary arrest to torture. So why not try some war-on-terror
obfuscation to bail out his president-dictator buddy over in Pakistan?

That's the card Bush played at his Saturday press conference when he once again celebrated Musharraf as a
strong ally in the war on terrorism: 'If you're the chief operating officer of al Qaeda, you haven't had a good experience.
There has been four or five No. 3s that have been brought to justice one way or the other, and many of those folks
thought they had found safe haven in Pakistan. And that would not have happened without Musharraf honoring his word.'

The Cheney Threat
  by Joe Conason

 Link

 Excerpt:
The Pentagon has launched a preventive strike against Cheney's office. Thrusting back hard against his
warmongering, the head of U.S. forces in the Mideast declared that an attack on Iran "is not in the offing,"
and more or less urged the vice president and his political allies to shut up.

Adm. William Fallon, who heads the U.S. Central Command, spoke in diplomatic tones, as top military officers
usually tend to do when they make strong political statements. Yet there was no mistaking the admiral's message.
While Iran certainly poses a "challenge," he said, we must engage Tehran to encourage changes in the regime's
behavior. But the Iranians won't "come to their senses" while under threat of bombardment, invasion or worse.

"None of this is helped by the stories that just keep going around and around that any day now there will be
another war, which is just not where we want to go," he said with a degree of exasperation. "It seems to me
that we don't need more problems. It astounds me that so many pundits and others are spending so much time
yakking about this topic [of war against Iran]."

So, if Cheney would just stop baiting Iran into a war we'd all be safer?

Admiral Fallon, where have you been the last six years?

Obama's moment to shine
  by Brent Budowsky

 Link

 Excerpt:
It is Barack Obama's moment and here is how he can make the most of it:

Lead a national mobilization and call to action for an American commitment to our
troops and vets that surpasses anything done in America since the Second World War.

By brilliance or fate, the most important speech of the campaign was delivered by Obama
at the most important moment of the campaign, the Iowa Democratic dinner.

What was powerful about the speech was that Obama tapped into the momentous
sentiments defining the state of the union in 2007.

Americans are repulsed by both parties in Washington and there is a deep and powerful
yearning for a politics that treats Americanism as a statement of principle and not a war of polarization.

Americans are repulsed by the choice between a corrupted, fear-driven and warmongering
party of what used to be conservatism versus an incoherent, fearful and careerist party of
what used to be progressivism.

The Democrats who will decide the nomination believe the great mandate of 2006 was
stolen by a president who disrespected it and Democrats who lacked the courage to fight for it.

Obama seems to be waiting - but waiting for what?

Subject: they deliberately let 9/11 happen

The following facts are not being reported by the mainstream media:

    * Hijacked airliners flew all around the eastern U.S. for hours without any military response???
How could Osama bin-Forgotten make our air force stand down, or did Cheney do that???

    * The Pentagon was struck by a "hijacked" airliner 45 minutes after two other "hijacked" airliners
struck the WTC, without the airliner being intercepted, approached, chased, or even seen by our air defenses?

    * The Gov't still refuses to release clear video of whatever happened at the Pentagon to this day, six years later???  Why???

    * The massive WTC-7 building was 350 feet from the nearest tower, was not hit by a plane, yet it imploded in
a controlled demolition at 5:20 pm???  It housed many gov't offices, & the over-insured owner said the building was "pulled."  Why???

The Bush/Cheney regime is using 9/11 as a pretext to brazenly subvert our U.S. Constitution, launch illegal invasions
of Afghanistan, Iraq, (Iran?),  & grant themselves dictatorial powers here at home!  They have committed high treason
& must be impeached & imprisoned while we still have the Bill of Rights!

I urge everyone to watch "Loose Change" free on the web for proof that 9/11 was an inside job!
Also Google terms like "911 truth" & visit www.911truth.org & other patriotic sites!
Wake-up! Do your research & learn the facts for yourself!
We must defend the Constitution, our nation, & our freedoms now!
 JoeyR

Another fact to remember: They took the audio tapes from the control towers and cut them into
little pieces and put them in many different trash cans so nobody could ever hear what was on them - why?
Why would innocent men need to cover their tracks?

Subject: Barbara Boxer quote

Hi Bartcop:

I clicked on the link with Senator Boxer's quote because I never thought she was one of
those pants-wetters and I think you must have read it too quickly and got the wrong impression:

* BARBARA BOXER
* US Senator, on Congress' message to the White House after
* its override of a Bush veto on a controversial water bill.

See, she said that their override of his veto was their way of telling the spoiled boy-king
that he *can't* just keep rolling over them. It's about time, too.

Regards,
Rochelle

Rochelle, you're right - the water bill was the one time they stood up to Bush.
What threw me was, when you kick a bully's ass, you don't need to explain why.

When you cave in to a bully, you're setting yourself up for more caving.
The Dems finally acted like the majority because the Republicans held their hands.

Subject: you are right again

The other night I was polled by phone.  By Democrats for something or other.

Everything went smoothly (marital status, definite caucus-goer, etc) till this:

"Should Obama become the nominee, what cares or concerns do you have?"

"Should Edwards become the nominee, what cares or concerns do you have"

"From this list of concerns, pick the most important should HRC become the nominee."

FROM THE DEMOCRATS!!!!

You are right again, my friend.
 JimmyD

Jim, did you ever seee "Day of the Condor" with Robert Redford?
It was about a cell withing the CIA who decided to go "all in" and get rich.

If the Democratic party big shots are openly sabotaging Hillary,
that would make them more stupid than even *I* think they are,
and considering how stupid I think they are, I just can't believe it's true.

Shirley it's some semi-quasy-Democratic mini-caucus that's making that bold/fatal move?
Maybe the best campaign question I've heard so far, from Chris Dodd, no less is:

"I wonder which of the Republicans John Edwards prefers to Hillary..."

It's like Chris Dodd reads  bartcop.com!!!

Hey Democrats!
If you work against the overwhelming-favorite Democrat, when Fascist Rudy takes the oath
and makes Bush look like f-ing Ramsey Clark, don't come up later asking, "How'd that happen?"

Bush Legacy: 120 US war veteran suicides a week

 Link

 Excerpt:
The US military is experiencing a "suicide epidemic" with veterans killing themselves
at the rate of 120 a week, according to an investigation by CBS.

At least 6256 US veterans committed suicide in 2005 - an average of 17 a day - they said,
with veterans overall more than twice as likely to take their own lives as the rest of the general population.
That figure rose to 22.9 to 31.9 suicides per 100,000 among veterans aged 20 to 24 - almost four times
the non-veteran average for the age group.

"Those numbers clearly show an epidemic of mental health problems,'' says vets advocate Paul Sullivan.

In 2000, Bush told the military hundreds of times, "Help is on the way."

After he stole power, he lied thousands of soldiers into their graves and tens of thousands
have lost their sight, their mental health, their limbs and their families because of Bush greed,
but they still love him because his sex life has never been investigated.

Subject: Gore & Clinton

Bart,

If Clinton doesn't have "sex with that woman" he campaigns for Gore and Gore wins the
election...which he did anyway. Clinton did the single stupidest thing in Presidential history...
he gave the rightwing animals a real issue. That's why he is the stupidest and worst President in history...

He begat the imbecile in the White House. He blew the country and took it down.
How could he have possibly been so stupid. You'd think his handlers would have found him women,
kept Hillary out of the loop... (not easy to do)...or kill his libido with drugs that rendered him impotent.

What a fool. I voted for him twice, I'm a liberal and have been on a Mylanta drip since the 2000 election.
It will take years to repair this country if ever. If Hillary wins they'll take her apart every day like they did Bill.
The Dems are emotional eunuchs who wear diapers to keep from soiling themselves when a Republican barks at them.

You have a terrific website.
Jack

Jack, I think his sex life was none of our business.
For all we know, every president got BJs in the Oval Office
but Clinton was the only president investigated for that.

And remember, Clinton beat them twice, three times if you count impeachment,
and there's no doubt he could win a third term if the GOP hadn't made that illegal.

Our motto for this year is - "No Anti-Bush Site Left Behind". So - if you have an anti-bush site and you are  choking on hosting fees or dealing with threats - let us know and we'll help keep you online.

We also have that strongest server side spam filtering on the planet.
Check out Marx Mail for info on how you can have a Spam Free Email Account.
