Opportunistic Bush bastards
How they turned torture into business as usual

What soone came to be called the "war on terror" led quickly and inexorably to some of the most
harrowing tactics ever contemplated by the United States government. The war in Iraq is the most
obvious and familiar result of the heedless "toughness" of the new administration. But as Jane Mayer
makes clear in her book "The Dark Side," (Stupid, stupid, stupid name for a book. Cheney
dresses up as Darth Vader on Halloween. He loves being called Darth Vader, Jane.)
Mayer recounts a different, if at least equally chilling, story: the emergence of the widespread use of
torture as a central tool in the battle against terrorism; and the fierce, stubborn defense of torture
against powerful opposition from within the administration and beyond. It is the story of how a small
group of determined men and women thwarted international and American law; fought off powerful
challenges from colleagues within the Justice Department, the State Department, the National Security
Council and the C.I.A.; ignored or circumvented Supreme Court rulings and Congressional resolutions;
and blithely dismissed a growing clamor of outrage and contempt from much of the world - all in the
service of preserving their ability to use extreme forms of torture in the search for usable intelligence.

Too bad we didn't have an opposition party to stand up to those lousy Bush bastards.

"Why are they picking on our best war-time president ever?"

Subject: American Consumers bring Oil Down - not Drilling

American consumers are bringing down the price of gas by lowering  demand.
We have started driving less, driving slower, airing up our tires, tuning our engines,
and buying cars that get better gas mileage.  And we're doing it without drilling for more oil.

America has very  little oil left so even if we drilled every drop as the Republicans want
it does nothing to solve the problem that we are running out of oil and that oil is warming up
the planet. The real solution is to stop using oil, not drilling for more.

If we really want to get out from under the thumb of big oil we need to stop buying their products.
Oil is going away. We have no choice but to find something else and find it now.

Lynching Advocate Toby Keith:
He said some things about Obama...

During Keith's appearance on the Whore Glenn Beck's show, he remarked, "I think the
black people would say he [Obama] don't talk, act or carry himself as a black person."

"What does that even mean?" Beck replied.

"Well, I don't know what that means but I think that that's what they would say.
Even though the black society would pull for him I still think that they think in the
back of their mind that the only reason he is in this is because he talks, acts and
carries himself as a Caucasian."

I'm not sure Keith was trying to attack Obama.
Keith is an Oklahoma Democrat, which would be, in most states, a Republican, but I think
he's saying Obama displays none of the negative stereotypes that whites sometimes see in Blacks.

He speaks very well, he's very well-educated, he dresses like a president of a company,
he doesn't use black slang and he doesn't wear his pants below his waist and he wears a shirt, etc.

Put another way, if Obama acted and dressed this way in high school, he probably got some
criticism for "acting white," and perhaps his good grades made him seem "white" to some Blacks.

Put still another way, if Obama spoke, dressed and acted like Tracy Morgan...

I doubt he'd be the Democrat's nominee this summer - who can argue with that?

I'm just saying it IS possible to make a racial observation without it being an attack.

Only luck can save America's economy
 by Clive Crook

The blame for this neutering of fiscal policy lies squarely with the Bush administration. At the start
of this decade, the budget stood in surplus to the tune of 2.4 per cent of GDP.  This year's actual
deficit of 3 per cent of GDP therefore represents a worsening of more than 7 per cent of GDP,
or roughly $1,000bn. Almost all of this deterioration is due to policy: to tax cuts, spending increases,
and their associated debt-service costs.

That projected surplus was a priceless gift to the White House. It offered the Bush bastards ample
scope for outlays on homeland security and other unforeseen priorities, and moderate tax cuts as well,
all within a budget balanced over the course of the business cycle. Instead, the administration knowingly
opted for outrageous fiscal excess - adding insult to injury with its phoney tax-cut sunset provisions,
designed for no other purpose than to disguise the long-term fiscal implications. Eight years on,
this record of fiscal irresponsibility has all but taken fiscal policy off the table as an available
response to the slowdown.

The US economy had better have luck on its side. Luck is about all it has left.

The End of Novak the Traitor

For over 45 years, Bob has written a column of lies about politics.
Stricken with a brain tumor, Novak said today his long run of lying was coming to an end.

He started as a moderate Republican and personal admirer of JFK and
wound up as a traitor to the country he claimed to love

Through it all, though, his column adhered to a central aim: to fool anyone who'd believe his crap.

Why is God calling home so many bad people?

"If Obama picks Claire McCaskill or Janet Napolitano or Kathleen Sebelius,  I think it
would annoy women...'those are women who we spent our lifetime helping run for office'
...a lot of us are not happy with these women for not supporting Hillary because they
came to us for help based in large part on their gender."
       -- Female Democrats     Link

 I agree.
If Obama is seen as dissing Hillary when he picks his VP, there will be hell to pay.
Things as they are, Obama has to pick a man for VP, which gives Grandpa the
chance to pick a woman and pretend they all-white-boys GOP respects women.

Obama's got a tough test in front of him - how will he do in that big test?

 Subject: Mississippi

Bart, here in Mississippi, McCain is only 3 percentage points ahead. IN MISSISSIPPI!!!!
That is saying something. Dissatisfaction is high here and Republicans are dispirited.
 Don in Seminary MS

They called Clinton a dirty rotten racist for speaking the truth, but I don't care,
I'm going to speak the truth, or at least take an honest guess:

In 2004, blacks were 34 percent of the voters in Mississippi.
Obama might be able to increase that to 40% - maybe that's why he's ahead,
because MS has a higher percentage of Black voters than most states.

There, I said it, and if that makes me a racist - then I'm a racist.

So if Obama wins all the states with a high Black population, then what?

We'll probably never get to look back on that primary madness and figure out
what happened because win or lose, next year will certainly bring another
tidal wave of shit that we'll have to deal with.

Which reminds me - America's never had a chance to catch her breath.

We went from Tanya Harding to OJ to Clinton's sex life to the Florida Theft
to 9-11 to war to torture to losing the 4th and 6th amendments - our heads are
spinning and there's no overview - no look back to see how the hell we got here.

Thanks to the cock-hungry impeachment managers and the Bush bastards,
the outrages have come so fast there's no time to even list them all.

If I was on some talk show and they asked me to list Bush's crimes,
it would tough because there are so goddamn many - who can keep up?

Why do they always hide in a group of kids when they get caught?
Do they think it makes them look innocent?

Book says Cheney Ordered Forgery
Is that why 4100 soldiers had to die?

A new book by Ron Suskind says that the White House ordered the CIA to forge
a back-dated, handwritten letter from the head of Iraqi intelligence to Saddam Hussein.

Suskind writes in "The Way of the World," to be published Tuesday, that the alleged forgery
- adamantly denied by the White House as you'd expect - was designed to portray a false link
between Saddam's regime and al Qaeda as a justification for the Iraq war.

The author also claims that the Bush bastards had information from a top Iraqi intelligence official
"that there were no WMDs in Iraq - intelligence they received in plenty of time to stop an invasion."

The letter's existence has been reported before, and it had been written about as if it were genuine.
It was passed in Baghdad to a reporter for The London Sunday Telegraph who wrote about it on
the front page of Dec. 14, 2003, under the headline, "Terrorist behind 9-11  'was trained by Saddam.'"

Is there nothing these Bush bastards can do that upsets Democrats?

White House denies everything
"Would we lie to steal hundreds of billions of barrels of oil?"

"No matter who Obama picks, the question is going to be raised:
Are you telling me that this person is more qualified than Hillary Clinton?"
      -- Mario Cuomo,     Link

 He has a point.
Who else can bring in money like Hillary?
Who can bring in the OH-PA centrist Democrats he needs to win?
Will Obama repeat Gore's mistake and try to win without the help
of the most popular couple in the Democratic party?

If Obama wins without the Clintons' help, he'll be the hero.
But if he loses because he wanted to "be his own man," he'll be the goat.
If Obama puts his pride before the welfare of the planet,
if Obama puts his pride before saving us from another four Bush years,
I fear for his future in the Democratic party.

Democrats don't like losers - when's the last time you saw Mike Dukakis?

Gore semi-redeemed himself because he actually won AND his global warming
urgency just might save this planet - but Kerry is nothing but a walking joke and
I'd hate to see Obama end with that Kerry-the-loser stench all over him.

In a sane world, Obama would beat McCain by 25 points.
Do we live in a sane world?

Who will Obama pick for VP?

Will he pick an unknown or an old fart like Biden?
Doesn't he need to pick someone we know - someone with gravitas?
Wes Clark would've been good, but Obama's already thrown him away.

The only name I super-hate is Sam Nunn the Racist Back-stabber, but a guy
like Evan Bayh (he's so unknown, did I spell his name right?) puts me to sleep.

Obama is so electric, anybody he picks (besides Hillary) will be a snoozer.
Plus, his VP will need to be on the attack, so he needs a scrappy fighter there.

Who, besides Hillary, makes sense?

And what's up with Pelkosi pushing that Chet Edwards dude from Texas?
Why doesn't Nancy Pelosi mind her own damn business?

Chet Edwards might be cooler than Shirley on White Russians but being
introduced by Nancy Pelosi is a really bad way to start your career.

Did Mary-Kate kill Heath Ledger?
She can't talk about her role without immunity

The feds want to question Mary-Kate Olsen about how Heath Ledger got the painkillers that
contributed to his death, but, like a member of the BFEE, she's refusing to talk without immunity.

Olsen's lawyer has twice refused requests for her to speak with investigators, said the actress
has nothing to do with the drugs, and has already told the government everything she knows.

The cops confirmed that Olsen wants a promise of immunity from prosecution before speaking
to the DEA.   Olsen was a close friend of Ledger's, and was the first person called by a masseuse
who found the actor's body in his Manhattan apartment.

She knows nothing, but can't say what she doesn't know without immunity?

Since she's asked for immunity, she's apparently not protecting anybody else,
so something's going on.  Plus -

The masseuse discovered Ledger's body on Jan. 22.
Police say she spent nine minutes making three calls to Olsen before dialing 911 for help
then called Mary-Kate a fourth time after paramedics arrived.

Was the masseuse asking Mary-Kate for advice? Or maybe for an antidote?
In an emergency, who calls a 21 year old actress three times before calling 9-1-1?

Subject: your new Bartcop Crosswords

Hey, Bart! I love the new Bartcop Crossword puzzles.

One small gripe: having done crosswords all  my life, I have yet to find one that accepts
spaces or punctuation (hyphens) as legitimate. If there is to be a hyphen in the answer,
the clue provides ______-______. if there is to be a space, it is understood that it is
in between the two words in the answer and does not take up one of the precious squares.

Love 'em, but get annoyed when I lose because someone invented a new form
of something that's been around since McCain's birth.

Dude, I get that, but it's one lady working with some new software.

Okay, Bart Cop, I always wanted to tell you that getting rid of was a real bummer.
Sheeesh, you'd have had a festival of stuff to write about under the regime of the Idiot-In-Thief.

I agree - we could really use The Horse now.

The point of my email is a query on the suicides that have occurred related to the Bush regime in some way.
I read in the not too distant past a site that listed dozens of auspicious suicides that could be considered
fortuitous for the Bushistas and was wondering if you had any idea of the name of that site?

I'm not aware of that site - maybe someone will see this and write in?

BTW, is it me or has the internet, from the perspective of searching for political information, become quite difficult?

I agree - I'm amazed sometimes at how hard it is to find info on the net.

The idiot whore press had no idea at all about how to write a story and
under Bush, our government has gotten as secretive as the old Soviet Union.

Why is CNN so impossibly retarded?

Who the fuck cares what Jet Blue rents for $8?
Why does CNN think that's so damn important?
They mentioned it every 15 minutes all day Momday and then all day again Tuesday.

Granted, it's a stupid-as-hell decision on Jet Blue's part - but who cares?
Does one percent of the nation fly Jet Blue?

The economy is crumbling and people are losing their jobs and their houses

We're about the pick a new leader of the planet and gas prioces are sky high and

It's the biggest theft in Earth's history.
