Under Obama, the federal budget deficit has been more than cut in half, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
However, a recent Bloomberg News poll shows that 10 percent of American voters are acquainted with this fact
— 59 percent mistakenly believe that the deficit has risen under Obama. Another 26 percent think it’s remained
approximately the same. It’s hard to run a democracy given such widespread public ignorance. Militant ignorance, much of it.
Fully 93 percent of Tea Party members subscribe to the false belief that government spending is skyrocketing out of control.
No wonder they’re running around with their hair on fire.
But there’s more: Measured as a percentage of the overall U.S. economy, the federal budget deficit has shrunk from
10 percent in 2009 to 4 percent today. Given increased revenue and decreased spending, the CBO projects the figure
will decrease to 2.1 percent by 2015.
“By comparison,” the May 2013 report notes, “the deficit averaged 3.1 percent of GDP over the past 40 years.”
And for this we needed a government shutdown?
I blame the whore media and the refuse-to-list-the-facts Democrats.
Teabaggers have been VERY angry since the Black guy won the White House.
They will get before a TV camera and scream, "We want our country back,"
but the reporter with the camera NEVER asks, "Back from what?"

I read a lot about people complaining about the Obamacare web sites not working.
If they took the 24 billion the Republican Tea Party wasted shutting down the government
and had the programming talent of the NSA spying agency working on the web site instead
of illegally spying on us we wouldn't have these web site problems.
Out here in sunny California we don't have these web site problems because we set up our
own exchanges. Most of the problems are affecting states who opted out and didn't want Obamacare
in the first place. There's a word that describes that but ironically I can't remember what it is.

Ted Cruz convinced the GOP to shut down the federal government in a bid to defund Obamacare.
The result: 120,000 lost jobs, a $24 billion hit to GDP, and a complete cratering of support for the GOP
in national polls. But it wasn't all bad news—at least for Cruz personally. He raised quite a bit of money
off his stunt, and he's a hero to Tea Party types who can lift a politician to a victory in the Iowa caucuses.
Now Marco Rubio, who mainly stayed invisible during Cruz's crusade, is picking up the baton in the
anti-Obamacare fight with a proposal that seems, in comparison, logical, moderate, and oriented toward
the practical goal of improving the lives of his constituents as they struggle with a federal enrollment system
that's proved as unready for prime-time as Republicans warned. Unlike Cruz's bid, it's unlikely to provoke
either a national political backlash nor do much to make him a hero to activists.
Rubio said he plans to introduce a bill on Monday, to "basically say ... that the Obamacare website has to
be up and functioning for six consecutive months before they enforce this individual mandate on people."
For a Republican, that sounds half-sane, but I doubt it's necessary.
Once the idiot Democrats frigure out how to put up a web page that works, like tens of millions of
people and corporations have done before them even with IQ of 64 wenmasters all this kerfluffle
will be forgotten and people will save hundreds a month on better health care and that means
Hillary is going to win 63 states.
With a Democratic House and Senate, and the balls to lead,
Hillary could make some REAL changes and make America great again.
So yeah, Republicans, KEEP trying to take health care from people.

Republican Don Yelton has stepped down as precinct chairman of Buncombe County, N.C.,
following controversial comments that aired last Wednesday on the Daily Show.
Speaking to Aasif Mandvi (The funniest guy on that show) about new voter ID requirements
in North Carolina, a requirement that many critics argue will subdue voter turnout in the state.
“The law is going to kick the Democrats in the butt,” Yelton said. “If it hurts a bunch of college kids that are
too lazy to get off their bohonkas and go get a photo ID, so be it. If it hurts a bunch of whites, so be it.”
“If it hurts a bunch of lazy blacks that want the government to give them everything, so be it,” Yelton added.

When you're on TV, you're not supposed to say how you really think, because that KILLS your party.
Following that, GOP Chairman Henry Mitchell vehemently distanced the party from Yelton’s comments.
“Let me make it very clear, Mr. Yelton’s comments do not reflect the belief or feelings of Buncombe Republicans,
nor do they mirror any core principle that our party is founded upon,” Mitchell lied in a statement.
Well of course his comments reflected your beliefs.
How do you think he got to be chairman?
It's because he had "the courage" to "tell the truth" anout "those lazy niggers." That's how you work
your way into high positions in today's GOP, expecially in Carolina and other hyper-racist Southerm states.

HI BC, First the government contracted private companies to come up with the plan...
This is the result of privatizing & the right wing wants to privatize the Social Security
& stop Medicare if they can get away with it. It’s all a big game for them.
Mu husband Jim & I paid for our mortgage, sent 2 daughters to Ohio State & the daughters
finished paying off their loans. We never took big holidays or trips, but tried to save.
When Jim started getting ill in his 50s . I realized my income would not cover house & car payments
if anything bad happened to him so we really started 401Ks & I saved federal savings bonds every
payday & pinched pennies much as possible-no vacations except trips east to visit my sisters.
Fortunately I worked for the State of Ohio which gave us comfort during much of his many illnesses.
I suggest to every young person I meet to save, save, save because the future is uncertain.
After what Wall Street & the big banks did to couples & their house loans is a major crime & they
need to acknowledge their bad deeds. Those people who were caught in the net set up from Reagan’s
presidency & his “trickle-down” economy were left to sink. Even his own economist, David Stockman
claimed it didn’t make sense. I grew up poor & have stayed within my financial boundaries.
The plutocrats are willing to shove us all down the drain provided (remember Enron) they always get theirs.
Government, business & populace must work together (We are deemed a COMMONWEALTH) in order to
make the Social Contract work for all.

They showed the gun the kid had on last night's CBS News.
A cop held up the kid's gun and a real AK-47.
I'm no gun expert, but I couldn't tell the fake AK-47 from the real one.
From the cop's point of view, you have a teenager with an AK-47 who refuses to drop it.
So, who do we blame?
The NRA who fought AGAINST a law requiting toy guns to have orange barrels
so a cop could tell from a distance that it was fake. But even that doesn't always work.
What about a kid who buys an orange-barrel gun and paints it black?
Maybe one answer is if your kid HAS to play with a toy gun, have him do it in the backyard
so he's not wandering the neighborhood looking like a George Zimmerman about to happen.

The Cardinals lead the series 2-1 if you don't count Lester's games, and he's not playing tonight.
On the other hand, if we end up losing, one consolation is we're always in the playoffs.
Boston's been working off that Bambino Hex for a century and somehow, possibly thru the F-word,
the Red Sox have lately become the symbol of "Boston Strong" so we might let them have this one.

Former comedian Dennis Miller has some advice for small-business owners who claim Obamacare
is causing them to lay off workers: Fire Obama supporters.
"Fire somebody with an Obama-Biden sticker on their car in the employee parking lot," Miller said after
someone claiming to be a small-business owner named Tony called into Miller's radio show to complain his insurance
premiums had increased due to Obamacare. "It's the right thing to do. They'll understand. They're patriots."
Then Miller said, "Ted Cruz is the last living statesman in our government."
Poor Dennis Miller - he's stuck worse than Boner during the shutdown.

When Stafford threw the ball down the deep left sideline, I saw it hanging in the air and thought
"that's an interception!" Then, when the camera panned down the field following the thrown ball,
I realized that the safety was no-where near the play. Surely the safety wasn't up on the line
expecting a run from Detroit? How far out of position could he have been when there
was only one receiver in the area and he was responsible for just that type of deep pass?
Also, I know megatron is a big guy who can jump well,
but three D-backs can't knock the ball down instead of trying to catch it?

the losing team's defensive coordinator should make himseelf available to the damn press
so they can ask him questions like the one you've raised.
Back when Dallas was good, they'd often be behind 31-20 with 90 seconds left and
Staubach or Acheman would magically engineer TWO scoring drives to win the damn game.
That drove me crazy, but now I'm cool because they can't do that anymore.
