Goodbye Bart.
Thanks for inspiring me to start a political website way back in 2000. You were even kind enough to post some of my captioned pics. I'd been neglecting the site lately, but I feel inspired to get back to it now, again because of you.
Thanks, and God bless Mrs. Bartcop.

RIP Bart, I am truly saddened by the loss. I have been a regular reader and contributor since 2003. And Mrs. Bart, you have my utter condolence. I lost both of my parents earlier than I should have due to cancer, so you have my empathy.
This does not mean the web site has to die too. I have written on the bartblog under Greg in cheeseland. I am experienced with web copy writing, SEO and marketing. With the help of someone who knows graphic art/imagery, I think we can keep this site alive. Is anyone with me on this?
Email me at grpatin@hotmail.com if you think we can do this. Especially you, Chicago Jim, because I know you have experience with this as well.
Regards,
Greg

I just heard the sad news and I'm just flabbergasted. BartCop was the first liberal site I'd ever encountered back in the days when dinosaurs ruled The White House and we launched The War of the Week Club.
You could always count on Bart for solid information, withering humor and, best of all, righteousness. He always came out swinging. He always connected.
RIP, Bart. You did a lot of good in too short a time.
Love and best wishes to Mrs. Bart

Oh my gosh, I am so horribly sad about this news. I can truly say that my ability to stay sane through the Bush Era was heavily due to Bartcop!!!
My deepest sympathies, Bart's Family.

Deepest condolences to all at Casa de Bart.
Truly the end of an era & a voice (and ATTITUDE) that will be sorely missed.

I was a regular from the beginnings, when Bart was one of the few honest and sane nailers of the Bushit criminal enterprise.
Hadn't been by recently, didn't know he was ill. The memories are sufficient basis to miss him and his voice of light in the dark wilderness.

Forgot to mention, that at the Party I had at my house with Bart, Mrs. Bart & Chicago Jim a few months back, I bought a bottle of Don Julio 1942, for the occasion. I will be drinking several shots in Bart's honor tonight.
