Reader for 15 years. Never donated a nickel. But I will help Mrs. Bart now. Will miss Bart's wit and wisdom. This news hit me like a freight train cause I never saw it coming but I'm sure others will carry on his legacy. Adios Chinaco hermano.

Been a reader and occasional subscriber since the Big Dog was in office. Someone posted his beyond hilarious expose' of Dr. Laura in a usenet group back then and I was hooked. Bart always graciously emailed or published a note of thanks whenever I could manage to send a few nickels his way. Such a very gifted writer, with the sharpest wit on the "internets", as well as a genuinely nice person behind all that talent. I remember that when he first learned that he may not live into old age, his first concern was not for himself, but rather for Mrs. Bart. I'll be sending a renewal her way. There are still sooo many back issues to still enjoy. Thank you Bart, for sharing your incomparable methods of making people laugh.

I actually had the good fortune to meet Bart once in Louisiana in Perry's barn having a drink. Great guy and I read his website for years. Sorry to hear of his passing.

I was writing a political column in a weekly paper in Wichita, Kansas during the early days of the Bush wars and Bart was always an inspiration. I read the site pretty much daily off and on for years, and hearing that Bart has passed on just now took the wind out of my sails. Thanks to you, sir, wherever you may be, for keeping the hammer swinging for so long. My deepest condolences go out to Mrs. Bart.

Bartcop kept me going through some very rough political times. There will never be another voice like his. I am deeply saddened.

The worst part of growing older is having to say goodbye to your heroes. Bartcop kept me sane during the Bush era, when this country had lost its mind. I'm having a shot of Chinaco right now, toasting a good friend
