ACLU obtained -- between four to six years old -- are heavily redacted, with the vast bulk of the 
legal conclusions of our Government simply blacked out. We just don't live in an open society, 
as most of the most consequential actions in which our Government engages are undertaken 
behind an increasingly impenetrable wall of secrecy.

The vast bulk of these memoranda consist of nothing more than legal arguments as to why the 
Bush bastards claimed they had the authority -- as the ACLU's Jameel Jaffer put it -- 'to permit 
interrogators to use barbaric methods that the U.S. once prosecuted as war crimes.' 

There is absolutely no justification whatsoever for these Memoranda to be concealed from the public. 
All they do is set forth the Executive Branch's purported understanding of the law. How can legal 
arguments about the President's alleged authority possibly be secret?
 

They're secret because the Democrats and the whore press refuse to ask about them.

The Democrats are making Bush's crimes legal after-the-fact, which is illegal in itself.
Simply put, the Democrats are OK with the torture of the non-convicted.

Brazile's breezy account confirms what many have long since suspected
- that Rove's claim to be sitting out the 2008 race is hogwash.

If it was me, and I was innocent, I'd offer to sign over my house

I'm just north of Sacramento so a short drive to the University of Davis (20 miles+) 
was sweet for a FREE 1 and a half hour concert!   I walked up to the front and sat on 
the grass and watched two guys blow me away with their lead guitar work! 

The brothers were fantastic and their band world-class.

John McCain, addressing the issue of Social Security angered conservatives Sunday saying 
"I don't want tax increases. But that doesn't mean that anything is off the table." 

Just a few days before McCain seemed to be warming up to Obama's timetable of 
getting out of Iraq in 16 months. At this rate he might eventually figure out that America 
isn't going to get off of oil by drilling for more oil.

After 8 years of having a president that gets it wrong we can no longer afford the luxury 
of having a president who has an adverse relationship with reality. We need someone who 
is the first to get it right - not the last. 

John McCain isn't even changing as fast as Bush is and the last thing 
America needs is the same old same old all over again.

Traitor Novak has Brain tumor

While the right-wing will publicly run from this guy and claim he's "crazy," (and privately think 
he's a hero and martyr) I'll offer you an early wager: he'll be adjudged sane for trial, mainly

The real lesson from Knoxville is that this is natural outgrowth of over 2000 hours of right-wing

and the HannityJob bloviating over "conservative family values." 

Dr. Dobson needs to take ownership of this tragedy.  And Pat Robertson. 
And Pastor Hagee. And Rod Parsley.  They created this misery. 
They did it intentionally, deliberately and with malice aforethought.

When was the last time you heard of an atheist going on a shooting spree?

I read your site yesterday and must say that I found the argument for the reason for our 
national apathy quite reasonable.  We should be marching on the White House with pitchforks 
and torches...yet here we all sit on our collective fat asses...doing nothing. 
Sounds like a drugged citizenry to me....drugged and apathetic.

Anywhoo.....we may not always see things through the same lenses, but you come pretty 
darn close to expressing all of my pent up rage....so I'll stick with you in these crazy times.

Journey to the Center of the Earth Movie Review

We didn't realize this was a kid's movie until it was too late.
Mrs Bart says it was pretty faithful to the Jules Verne story, 
but I was struck by how bad an actor Brandon Fraser is.

I've never seen him act before - and he's gotta be the worst
of any famous actor making real money in Hollywood.

As bad acting goes, he's right up there with Harrison Ford, who I kinda like,
but the poor bastard is just in the wrong line of work. He can't act - not at all.

Over the years, I've given Tom Cruise a bad time about being a bad actor,
and he deserves it, but Cruise can out-act Fraser and Ford in his sleep.
