Romney speaks on Gun Laws
This idiot thinks he should be president?

  Link

WILLIAMS: "On things however like Aurora, Colo., do you see why Americans get frustrated at politics?
They can see and hear your words from earlier in their career, people are hurting out there. Perhaps they
want to start a national conversation about whether an AR-15 belongs in the hands of a citizen, whether a
citizen should be able to buy 6-thousand rounds off the internet. You see the argument?"

ROMNEY: "Well this person shouldn't have had any kind of weapons and bombs and other devices

But your party voted to make the 100-round clip LEGAL.
How does saying "He shouldn't have had what we made legal" make any sense?

and it was illegal for him to have many of those things already.

All the information I've read says he bought everything LEGALLY.
Is Romney just lying again?

But he had them.
And so we can sometimes hope that just changing the law will make all bad things go away.
It won't.
Changing the heart of the American people may well be what's essential,
to improve the lots of the American people."

Of course, none of that makes any sense.  You can bullshit "change" all the hearts you want
but the crazies will still be crazy.  Theater shooter didn't shoot because he had a bad heart:
he shot because those weapons were available and he's f-ing crazy.

Repeat:
If those hundred-clip magazines weren't available, he could ONLY
fire 28 bullets )in each Glock) before he had to stop and reload.

Since 70 poeople were shot, he probably got off around 200 rounds or so.
Reducing 200 shots to 28 shots probably
means  TWO dead instead of TWELVE.

Romney says those other TEN LIVES mean nothing.

That lack of logic makes Romney the wrong man for president.

Romney's London Flub
Like Bush, he's a gaffe-a-minute overseas

 Link

Several Romney campaign flubs yesterday gave Obama an opportunity to shift the conversation
away from the economy and Romney’s successes. First, an unnamed campaign adviser made a
racially charged comment that Romney shared a special relationship with Great Britain based on
a shared “Anglo-Saxon heritage.”

Next, Romney incorrectly categorized “many” of the weapons used in Colorado as “illegal.”
Turns out, all three of the guns used by the shooter in the massacre were obtained legally.

This wasn't even the Romney-gaffe story I was looking for.
On the radio, I heard he said something about the Brits not getting it right.

Now they love him just as much as American dogs do.

Subject: Firewalking explained

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-W5FRl0qhOM

Michael Shermer, in 6 minutes, does a good job of both explaining why
it CAN be dome, and why it has nothing to do with Faith.

I would not have a go myself though as people have been burned trying it for various reasons.

I’ve heard of using the wrong type of wood and walking too fast and thus pounding through
the protective layer of ash or making the coals stick to your feet.
  Clive

If one needs a protective ash barrier to protect their feet, that's not firewalking.

That's ashwalking and it's fraud.

Theater shooting lawsuits begin

  Link

Torrence Brown Jr., one of the movie shooting survivors, is planning on suing the theater,
confirmed his family's publicist on Wednesday. "We're going to make sure whoever is
accountable is going to take responsibility for this tragedy," Cassandra Williams said.
She said that Brown is handling the criticism his suit has sparked. "We know it goes with
the territory, so he's fine," Williams said. She added that Brown, 18, is seeking therapy and
is emotionally distraught after the shooting.

Why should Brown be criticized?
If he was shot due to someone's negligence, they should pay.

Brown's attorney Don Karpel told TMZ he plans to sue the Century 16 theater, which is owned
by Cinemark, for having an exit door that was not equipped with an alarm or guarded. (Holmes
reportedly left the theater through the exit door, propped it open and returned with his weapons.)
Karpel also said he may sue Warner Bros for releasing violent movies that may have inspired the
shooter, as well as the suspect's doctors, if he had any, for hypothetically not monitoring James
Holmes' mental condition properly.

We've all seen the signs 1,000 times.   ALARM WILL SOUND IF DOOR OPENS
If the theater employees disconnected that alarm, they should pay.

You can't sue the movie studio because this was Batman 3.
You knew the movie would be "violent" and you still bought a ticket.

Suing the doctors is iffy, too.

Maybe every bricks-and-mortar business in America should take this time
to ensure that their doors are reinforced and their alarms are working.

To be more like Reagan, Obama would have to make some
really boneheaded decisions that get 250 Marines killed in one day.

Plus, he'd have to go to Germany and
honor Hitler's SS corps of murderers.

And of Obama really wanted to be like Reagan, he'd have
President Biden pardon his adnministration for their global crimes.

Subject: Sheriff Joe

Hi Bart,

The sheriff is a loose cannon.   I predict a class-action lawsuit, or a wrongful death case,
against this guy that will cost the people who vote to keep him there.

Maybe a 50 million judgement against him, paid for by his taxpaying supporters,
will convince them that racist behavior has a price.   Or, maybe not.

Looks like Obama may be reading your page, he has come out swinging lately
and keeping the record straight.
 Al in San Jose

Al, I agree - thanks for that.

Feinstein: I speak before I think

  Link

After Sen. Dianne Feinstein blamed national security leaks on the White House, Romney naturally
picked up her criticism for his campaign, and now the not-too-bright senator says she's the one who
shouldn't have spoken so freely.   Feinstein didn't disavow her suggestion to the World Affairs Council
on Monday that "the White House has to understand that some of this is coming from their ranks."
But she did say she shouldn't have made it.

“I stated that I did not believe the president leaked classified information,” Feinstein said. “I shouldn’t
have speculated beyond that, because the fact of the matter is I don’t know the source of the leaks.”
She also said, "I regret my remarks are being used to impugn President Obama or his commitment to
protecting national security secrets," referring to Romney's speech to a Veterans of Foreign Wars
conference, in which he cited her comments on the leaks.

How many years of experience does a politician need before he/she learns to control his/her mouth?

Paris Jackson: "grandma's here!  thankyougod"
Perry Sanders negotiates Katherine's release

  Link

"Katherine's attorney, Perry Sanders, went to the spa where Katherine was staying
and he was still unable to meet with Katherine in person," a source told the site.

"However, he did talk to Jermaine and Janet Jackson who were also there.  Perry explained
that the lack of communication has been very confusing and was a cause for concern.

"Perry insisted that Katherine be able to speak to the grandkids, and it finally happened last night.
Perry urged Janet and Jermaine to have her mother come home immediately because of the
pending custody hearing which will happen this morning in a Los Angeles courtroom."

The insider said the conversation "was extremely emotional, and Paris was just so relieved to hear
from her grandmother."   Katherine is said to be "extremely upset at her children for doing this."

Castro to Obama: Let's be Pals

  Link

Cuban President Raul Castro said Thursday that his government is willing to mend fences with
the United States and sit down to discuss anything, as long as it is a conversation between equals.

At the end of a Revolution Day ceremony, Castro grabbed the mic for apparently impromptu remarks.
He echoed previous statements that no topic is off-limits, including U.S. concerns about democracy,
freedom of the press and human rights on the island, as long as it is a conversation between equals.

"Any day they want, the table is set. This has already been said through diplomatic channels,"
Castro said. "If they want to talk, we will talk."

Washington and Havana have not had diplomatic relations for five decades.

The 50-year-old U.S. embargo outlaws nearly all trade and travel to the island, and Washington
insists Cuba must institute democratic reforms and improve human rights before it can be lifted.

That's such bullshit.

We have trade and travel with China - do they have democracy?
What's the REAL reason we need to hate Cuba?

Pink Panty Sheriff grilled on race

  Link

ROBBINS: But plaintiff's lawyer Stanley Young spent the day using not just TV appearances,
but the sheriff's own writing, trying to establish a pattern of prejudice and discrimination.  Young
read from Arpaio's book, "Joe's Law," which says Mexicans don't share the same values
as other immigrants. Arpaio said it was his co-author who wrote that.

Sure it was, Joe.
All the non-racist lines in that book were yours, and the racist lines were your writing partner's?
You'd have to be either stupid or a racist to buy that.

Then Young read a number of emails and letters Arpaio got from supporters. One urged the sheriff
to run a sweep near a Phoenix McDonald's because no one behind the counter spoke English.
Arpaio said he didn't act on that request, he just passed it along to his chief deputy, who did.

ha ha

*I* didn't put anyone in any ovens.
I just passed the orders on to those who did?

That's your excuse?

Subject: the religiously insane

Bart,

It never ceases to amaze me that there are religiously insane people out there.
They are all over the globe, all worshiping their own version of "god".

What really gets me though, is those who think it's OK to kill others who don't agree
with their definition of god.  The Taliban get a lot of press, but it's everywhere, but I
don't see any difference in them and the other religious zealots throughout the world.

You've got nut jobs in the U.S. who think it's OK to kill doctors who perform abortions.
How is this different from the Taliban who kill people who don't subscribe to their particular definition of Allah?

Human beings have been killing in the name of god throughout history.
The ignorant are being manipulated by those who aspire to greed and power.
Catholic, Protestant, Mormon, Jew, Muslim, ad nauseum, ad infinitum.

It always comes back to money and power, and the foot soldiers are those poor
ignorant wretches who have given their reasoning over to "spiritual leaders" who
then manipulate them as they will.

It is sickening, whether it is in the Persian Gulf, Europe, Afghanistan, or the U.S.A.
