We corresponded several times, and I was honored to have a couple of things published on his page over the years. His voice and his willingness to stand up and call out the jerks by name will be sorely missed. Condolences to Mrs. Bart.

So sorry to hear of Bart's passing. Like many others have said, BartCop was the first site that engaged me in politics. Who can forget the Tim Russert gif "Clinton's cock, Clinton's cock" and the pink-tutu'd Dems telling Bart they didn't want to upsrt the GOP. So many memories and so many laughs. Cheers Bart, you'll live on forever in our hearts.

I discovered Bart through MWO and have been a subscriber and a pillar for a long time. I also sent him a lot of toons the last couple of years. I remember him saying that he couldn't understand how people who don't drink or smoke pot could function during the awful stuff we were going through during the Bush years. I once told him that as one of those people, his site was one of the main things keeping me sane. I am heartbroken at his passing and send much love to Mrs. Bart and to everyone who loved him. I'll definitely keep my subscription going. Love you like a brother, man.

So sorry to hear that Bart passed away. He's the one who opened the door to activism for me. If it wasn't for him, never would have known about Democratic Underground, Daily Kos, Media Whores Online, Mike Malloy and others. My heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Bart.

Bartcop was one of the first blogs I ever read, back in 1997, when the internet was in its toddler stage.
I didn't agree with everything he said, but I always had major respect for his disdain of the right wing nut jobs who have been ruining the world. His sense of humor kept me coming back to Bartcop.com all these years. So sorry he's gone. I will miss him.
