I go a long way back with BartCop. I started reading him during the 1996 election season and it was love at first sight. BartCop did blogging and social media long before we had any inkling of those concepts. BartCop - mad as hell, funny as hell - an unbeatable combination. Rest in peace.

I'd like to think that pretty soon now, Bartcop's going to hook up with Joe Bageant and that those two cowboys can put their feet up and watch a few sunsets together.

I clicked on bartcop.com this afternoon, saw it was a new page, got excited until I saw "Bart's Last Words."

Monday through Thursday were my favorite days of the week. Reading Bartcop was always a highlight of my day.

The Internet is a sadder place tonight. Bart will be missed. And goddamn Cheney is STILL wasting oxygen.

I never had the pleasure of direct contact, but have been a regular contributor to Marty's page for many years and've read with relish the fruits of Bart's fertile brain. This is a great loss to the thinking community, and I am very saddened..

I will miss him dearly. We seemed to share thought waves. Even the times he seemed to "stand alone" in his opinion -- I had already reached the same conclusion.

The first, and the best of the political blogs I ever really got into.. I remember buying adspace here once, and Bart himself calling me to let me know I got a free extension. Unfortunately I was at work and couldn't take the call; I really wish I had the chance to speak with him, as I had with some of his associates... and I really hope the online community he founded will continue in some form...
