my good friend rick janes first told me to check out this site, and i always loved it. my complete sympathy goes out to the entire BC community! what a beacon during those harsh years of the bush administration, for those of us being ignored and hated for our disposition towards the illegality shoved down our throats!

Bart, if it eases your soul any, you managed to keep a lot of people sane during the Bush idiocy. While it's a terrible loss to those of us left (and a worse loss to Mrs. Bart), at least now you've got your fill of Bixby corn. You tell us thanks for the life we gave you. Thanks for the sanity you gave us.

Like many here, I logged into the site today and was pleased to see it had CHANGED for the first time since Feb. 18, but then my heart fell when I saw "Last Word from Bart." My heart then crashed thru the floor when I read of his passing. I feel I've lost a true friend, someone I've spent countless hours with over the past 12 or 13 years. And I didn't even know his real name.

Bart, you will be missed by more than you could ever have imagined. You've been instrumental in helping me keep the faith, and your spirit continues onward.

Bartcop was the only liberal site I read on a constant basis. The way he thought was how you read it, he didn't filter anything. Since George Carlin died, I've wondered what his take would be on current events and wished he could give us just one more stand up special. In that aspect, I wish Ol' Bart could give us just one more page. Double shot of Chinaco to you, Bart. We will swing the hammer in your absence.
