*sigh* I heard of the site from a friend in Little Rock (Terry's former home, of course) back in the late '90s, & I've never missed an issue since, which surely means I've read words on Bartcop over the years than any other place on the web. I disagreed with him at times, but never for a second did I ever think his heart wasn't in the right (which is to say, of course the Left) place.

The only monthly online sub I've ever had is to Bartcop. That's not going to change.

Goodbye, Terry, & thanks for everything.

My favorite political blog was Bartcop.com. Bartcop taught me to call it like I see it and say it with confidence. My main source of political news and humor while living in conservative West Texas throughout the W years. For over ten years Bartcop.com was a daily stop. He helped make living in this desert of ideas tolerable. He also taught me a little about tequila.
Thank God & Al Gore for the internet!

I visited Bart's blog daily. I loved how he trashed republicans. Thank you for the great memories Bart. My thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Bart.

My late father turned me on to Bart during the Bush $ Co years and I was a big fan. Bart honored my father in volume #836 and I was deeply moved by this gesture and very thankful. We were on opposite sides on a number of issues and had heated debates; recently, he wrote "blow me" in response to one of my email grenades and posted it on the website, which was one of the highlights of his posting some of my emails. I was honored and I never took it seriously and would have been happy to go out and have a drink and BS about politics with him.
I will miss his voice and am deeply saddened by his passing.
Bart, wherever you are, sit down with Pop for that shot of Chinaco and sit and talk politics; I will join you in another 30-40 years or so. Rest in Peace, Bart and condolences to your family and friends.

I am so sorry for your loss, Debbie. I only hope the site will continue on in some fashion, but it will never be the same.

Bart;

My condolences to Mrs. Bart.

I started reading your page right after 9-11. Civilization got hijacked and I was trying to make sense of it all.

Over the decade+ I've had disagreements with your conclusions, you even monkey-mail'd me one time. You've also highlighted a few of my compositions and gave me a forum to kvetch.

Thanks.

I will miss your commentary.

I will never forget how proud I was when I got on Rush's show and got it the classic shout out " Mega Bartcop Dittos Pigboy". It was also fun partying with you at Planet Hollywood. Thanks for all the years of being a voice for so many of us!

I discovered BartCop in the dark days following 9-11. At that time I was in the midst of what turned out to be a 2 year stint of unemployment, living hand to mouth. The only thing I could afford was the internet, and BartCop helped me to laugh to keep from crying. My own political activism and sense of altruism, and humor, I contribute to Bart. Thanks Bart. I'll always remember...

I wrote at my blog, "What's the Diehl?," about how important Bart has been to me. Rest in peace, Mr. Coppage.
