Sad, sad news. Bartcop was one of the first websites I discovered when I bought my first computer back in 2001. I loved the humor and attitude even when I didn't agree with him, but who wants friends you always agree with ? And when we started our website " Keeping The Public In Public Radio " Bart would post some of our stuff on the page. We had a mutual fan in Austin DJ Larry Monroe, we lost Larry a couple of months ago and Bart was kind enough to post my obit/eulogy of Larry on the page the next day, along with his own thoughts of Larry. We've lost a great liberal voice and I'm not sure how I'll replace dropping by the tequila treehouse, hopefully somebody somewhere will find that elusive blend of humor and outrage that Bart had developed.I'll be continuing my subscription indefinitely and will also send a separate larger amount this month in tribute.I know Bart had no use for religion so I'm not going to say anything about him looking down on us or anything. But his memory should stay with us all, the best afterlife possible. Thank you, Rev Jim

I have been coming to bartcop.com for over 10 years. I will miss this site very much. Fuck!!! While other sites like liberaloasis.com and hated.org became nothing, bartcop kept swinging and he never gave in. Thanks for years of sanity in an insane world.

just a suggestion to help more of the money to get into mrs bart's hands - go to paypal and send as a GIFT instead of paying through the link above.

I was excited to see that the page had finally been updated, but how quickly my heart sank when I read the reason why. I returned to the page several times that day in disbelief, as if the next time I checked it would all have been some karmic mistake.

Like many have already said, I feel like I've lost a good friend. I never met him but Bart sure seemed that way to many like minded people. BartCop was where I spent many hours. 4 days a week I came here even when I knew nothing new was published. Just in case. I never wanted to miss a new page.

A proud moment of my life came when Bart published a graphic I had created for him. I saved the whole page to my hard drive.

I am sorry I never had the honor to meet him.

I used to think "a day without BartCop was like a day without sunshine." The days are cloudy now.

My condolences to Mrs. Bart, I am so sorry for your loss.

I am devastated. Bart was one of the earliest, most original, and most indefatigable online voices railing against the bullshit industrial complex. Man this is a tough goodbye to say.

Thank you Bart - Koresh knows your voice made a huge difference to me and so many, many others. Deepest condolences to Mrs. Bart and the kitties. Sending what $ I can.

My condolences to all who knew him. It is said that we have two deaths. First the death of the person and second the death of the last parson who knew him/her. Based on my feelings today that should also include all of us who have been reading bartcop.com. I will remember him until my dying day.

I'm just agreeing with all the positive things that have been said about Bart. First click of the day, waiting anxiously for the next page/show to appear and quench my thirst for what Bart would unleash on the masses. Thank you Bart for letting the mainstream media know that it is OK to tell the truth and call out the Hypocrite's when needed.
You'll be missed.

This is a very sad day. If he finds that there really is an invisible cloud being, I'm sure he will be welcomed with open arms.

Bartcop was always the first place I would go to when I turned my computer on in the morning. He will be missed.

A giant Sequoia in the Forest of Public Opinion has fallen, and the reverberations will last for many years to come. Like a huge hammer against a world-sized gong, his wit and wisdom will ring true in the ears and hearts of his adoring public and dumbfounded enemies for longer than any of us survive him.

I was fortunate to stumble upon Bartcop within the first few months that Marc hosted him. I was almost instantly hooked and to say his mighty hammer was an important part of my life doesn't begin to suggest what he has meant to me. When he wasn't able to post on a regular day, I felt a loss. These last few weeks have been a trial filled with apprehension and worry. Now that loss is complete but again in a sense I will never truly lose him, he will be with me in spirit as I fondly remember him.

The radio show while it lasted was a real treat, especially when he mentioned receiving bottles of Chinaco from me and others. And also when a few of my cartoons made it on the page. The Anejo wild flowers as well as the other flowers we shared a love for will always remind me of him.

I have been proud to be a long time fan and supporter, and like his influence and fame that support has not ended. I ask all of you to thank him at least one and hopefully many times to come by blessing Casa Bart, his shrine and shelter for Mrs. Bart, for many years to come, as was his wish.

Adios amigo. A long row of Chinaco Anejo shots to you. The world is a better place for having heard your voice and listened to your heart. The world is a lesser place without you. May you rest in peace and long be well and fondly remembered. And may Mrs. Bart find solace and comfort in the knowledge that the man she loved was truly loved by so many more. Salute!
