I'm crying, so sad. I'm so sorry for Mrs. Bart. I wish I could help her but I can't even help myself. Over the yrs I have relied on Bart to put a humorous spin on the hell the GOP has been & I've used his stuff to shove it in their stupid faces. I will miss him dearly. Damn sad day

Regular reader since the Clinton days, sent a few emails and one check. Hope the crew will continue the site, maybe with a blog included. Many of us will miss his wit, humor and political views.

For Mrs. bart: May your current heart aches quickly become fond memories.

Condolences and blessings, Mrs. Bart Cop. Your husband was, in my eyes, a great man. And to all you readers, please, please, please look into purchasing the umbrella before it rains. If you do not have life insurance, please look into it: term insurance is very cheap, yes, you can afford it. And you can't buy life insurance after you are very ill. But you can when you are in good health, even if you are a bit ill, even if you are in your 60s. I will send in adonation for Mrs. Bart Cop.

I truly loved your spirit and will miss you greatly. We did memes long before they became popular. You are the original liberal blogger and we will always love you for it. I'm going to keep up the fight for you. Love ya Bart...

Bart, we first connected back in 1997 when you were just a rookie here, but your hammering of Rush was too good to ignore. You were always there for me and we had numerous "talks" on various issues.

I'm just so very saddened to have to say goodbye, but I know you're currently running after Ken Lay, swinging that hammer with Ted Kennedy lagging behind you.

Numerous shots tonight in your honor sir!

My condolences to Mrs. Bart and all those who were closest to him.
I first found Bartcop way back using a 14,400 modem. I continue to use his joke whenever I hear someone mention Rush. I always meant to email Bart about the Thanksgiving dinner I was invited to that had almost all right wingers there. As we sat eating one of them mentioned what Rush had said the day before and they all agreed with what he said. Well I couldn't resist as on the wall was a picture of the Hindenburg on fire, so I pointed at it and asked if they knew the difference between Rush and the Hindenburg. I explained it to them. Oh was it a quiet dinner after that.
I'll miss you Bart.
A shot of Chinaco to you.

Very saddened to hear of Big Bart's passing. He's left a pair of empty shoes that cannot be filled.

I first heard of Bartcop.com via mention on Mike Malloy's Air America show. I connected in and have been a regular listener/reader ever since. You didn't always agree with Big Bart, but mostly? Yeahp! Bart wouldn't have it if you nodded your head to everything he said: Yet if wished to offer dissention? You'd better have brought your A-game. Bart made us think, evaluate, re-evaluate, reposition, agree, disagree, argue, applaud; and he did it in his own inimitable, common-sense and straightforward manner. A fine man to be held up as symbolic of what Americans are.

I'll miss him greatly. I'm now part of America's poor, as are all of the undeserving folks in this richest nation on Earth. But I kicked in a little something about a week ago, and hope it helps just a little.

RIP, Big Bart. You now are the caretaker of the Big Treehouse in the Sky. I hope you'll slip me the password when I arrive.

Wow, so sorry to hear the news. Though I never had the opportunity to meet Bart, his passing has left a hole in my life that will never be filled. I will truly miss his wit and humor, and his relentless hammer-swinging energy that helped raise my spirits every time I visited his site.

Bart, you touched all who regularly visited the treehouse, and I will always honor your memory with every tequila shot I take. Thanks, Bart, for all of the laughs and fond memories from so many years. May you play in a field of God's finest flowers for eternity! You will be missed....
