My hope, and in my opinion the only fitting memorial, is that Bart truly witnessed the death of conservatism - gay marriage, pot legalization, the grand bargain off the table, the tea party fellating an ever-decreasing rump of insanity.

Conservatives must never be given power ever again. Break the cycle.

Condolences to Mrs. Bartcop. Your husband was everyone's favorite hell-raising liberal. I've read his page since before W's reign of error. He kept it real all those years and he kept a lot of us going. Wit, humor, a smart mouth, and the truth. Yes. A hole in the inter tubes that won't be easily filled. Thank you. He will be greatly missed, I've been following him since 2000. Kept me going through the worst of that period. Nobody else had the mix of humor and unrepentant liberalism he had.
