It pains me greatly to hear of Bart's passing. This site has been a bastion of sanity in a world that is crumbling while the rapacious sharks of the right-wing attempt to devour everything,
Bart, you will be missed.

Terry changed the course of politics in this country. At a time when the political discourse was controlled by the mainstream media, one man with an opinion and a modem discovered the power of the internet. Before the term "blogger" existed, Terry was expressing his opinions and influencing politics from the bottom up. Most of today's political opinion outlets are a direct descendent of Terry's original work at BartCop.com.

Bart's work inspired me to start my own blog many years ago. I figured if a guy with an IQ of 64 could do it, how hard could it be?
But nobody could do it the way Bart could. I never even got close to having the DOZENS of readers that he had. RIP buddy, you fought the good fight and you were damn good at it.
I'll lift a shot of Chinaco for you tonight.

Gonna have to raise a BOTTLE to you, old Bart. You rocked it longer & harder for the TRUTH than few - if any - could match.

Bart was the alpha of this genre. We who endlessly rail at the powerful owe him a huge debt for showing us a way to turn our tilting at windmills into having an effect on the politics of America. Adios, Bart.

I hurt for our loss. I had to have my Bart fix every day & yes he got us through "der monkey". I'm so happy I met him in Vegas & again just recently in L.A. He was one of the best & will be sorely missed. "With an IQ of 64 he was still smarter than Bush. My thoughts go out to Ms Bart.
A shot of Chinaco to ya Bart.

This news makes me so sad. You were such a joyous and needed voice. You were also one of the fist people on the Internet to give me a shout-out, long, long ago and I was always grateful for that. My thoughts are with your family. You will be missed.

I am so sorry. I have loved reading Bartcop off and on since my dad introduced me to it in the late 90s. Thanks to Bartcop for his years of service to the cause of a better tomorrow. And thanks to Mrs. Bart for being his constant companion.

Wow, what a shock. I knew Bart was sick, and had an uneasy feeling about this absence , but never expected him to pass. I've been reading daily since around 2000. He helped me cope with BFEE being in power, and I'm happy to say I recently told him so in an email. With the recent attitude change to pot, I had the thought of meme change, and told Bart my idea called 'Reefer Gladness'. Bart laughed and used it as a daily title a month or so ago. I was proud of my contribution, albeit a small one. Bart emailed me and said" you're in British Columbia, right, with the good pot?" Yup, I told him. " If I was passing through, on my way to Banff maybe, do you think you could help me out?" Yup, I told him.
I was looking forward to meeting him one day, as we are the same age. Sorry it won't be happening. All the best to Mrs. Bart in this sad time.
PS- I read about Bart's passing yesterday, and last night I dreamed that there was a memorial service for Bart in my community. There was about 100 local people in attendance in my dream. Bart's influence might be more widespread than we realize.
