Bart will be missed by all of the sane folks out there. He gave us all inspiration during the smirking shrub's and his master=Cheney's criminal years. I loved to forward his words and cartoons to the right wing wackadoos that live here in Cornfield IL. Bart's honesty, decency and humanity will be sorely missed. Bye Bart

So sad to hear of his passing,,I tuned into this site many many years ago and always felt a kinship to a contemporary of mine at the U of A with shared the same political views...He was fighting such a good fight in tough times (the Bush years) and in a truly conservative state...I loved the the Bartcop website which was always so funny and so absolutely on point...
What an amazing talent....He will be missed....condelences to his family

What a sad day. Bart was a true pioneer, and his legacy cannot be overstated. Here's to you, you glorious SOB.

My mom's been a bartcop fan for years, and this site (along with the Daily Show) is what sparked my interest in politics. When I was 14 this was just "mom's site", but once I hit my early twenties it was in my favorites bar. Bart's vicious jabs to the assholes running our country kept me checking for updates every day.
I'm gonna miss you, Bart. Tonight I'm gonna get smashed on tequila and blast some Garbage.

Bartcop was one of the very few, corageous sites that we could read during Bush's years. It helped us not going insane. Rest in peace, Bart.

Earlier in my career I worked in Ghana, West Africa, in very rural, poor villages. The people there, despite their poverty, were incredibly generous and welcoming. Often, when I protested their offers of food (to the detraction of their family's nutrition) I was often answered by the phrase "you are my brother....If I had two loaves of bread, I would give you one". These acts of humanity have never left me. So although I also struggle to make my own mortgage and bills, I have to pay it forward, in however humble way I can. God Bless.

Well damn it, this day came way too fucking soon didn't it.
Last night when I read the bad news I didn't have any anejo on hand to throw one back so I did the next best thing, I loaded up the blu ray with a disc of Shirley in Denver cranked the surround up to 11 & tried not to think about a world without Barts wisdom & wit to get me through the day. I'll always keep the Bartcop link in my favorites.
