This comes as such a shock...My friend, Bart will surely be missed, he was a mainstay each morning for me and like a friend, was on the mark in his opinions 99% of the time and one of the few liberal leaning opinionists that I trusted to tell me a truth I could usually count on. Please know he will be missed and I wish you and your family my condolences. Stay strong and know we all admired him for being there for us....R.I.P

Life is unfair. I knew that already. And the last decade taught me about waiting a decade for things to change from horrible - lost my job at the top of my career from a layoff, Worst President Ever stole the election, a gang of money-thugs ate the White House and every dream - I wait and survived a decade of zero hope. The year I was born some madmen rattled sabers at each other over pointed explosives settling in Cuba - the world tried to erase everyone, but especially me, because this was personal.

And so here was this one guy whose site I ambled to after one after another other truthish site came down, this one guys whose simple language, full of sarcasm, full of irony, this one guy told me that, hey asshole, you're not alone. It helped me survive what came. And I almost died from a stroke halfway through, and he helped me survive what came, and I stood back up, and my idiot sense of fair play and kindness are still intact, annealed even, and he was part of it.
So. Thank you, unknown friend. Yes, you live on, and we will pass you on, and you will be known as long as there's greed, as long as there are systemic lies, as long as there are walls that need hammering, we will hammer.

Travel well, friend. See you soon, though we still won't know each other except by the sarcastic twinkle.

I'm deeply saddened to learn of the loss of Bart. I've been a fan of his webpage since 2000. I always liked his unique perspective on things and his unremitting crusade against the crimes of right-wingers. He was a true champion for the common man and he will be greatly missed.

I'm filled with sadness on learning of Bart's passing. It makes me think of the Steve Martin bit - "What if you died, and woke up in heaven, and there were angels on clouds playing harps everywhere - wouldn't you feel stupid!" I hope Bart finds the truth after death he always was seeking in life. P.S and let's help Mrs. Bart keep Casa Bart! I mean, how much can houses cost in Tulsa?
