sad. seems I've known him from when he first started online. I will miss him.
I treasure all of his first cd's he made and sent to me wrapped in newspaper and with his name written in magic marker on them that said Bart.
It was his own handwriting and hand packaged radio delivery system.
Like I said... I will miss him.

I'm Australian and have a keen interest in US politics, which I read everyday. I'm a lefty. BARTCOP to me was the best page on the internet. It punched well above its weight. It was hilarious. It was authentic. It was informative. It was cozy. And I loved how tough it was. After reading US politics for several hours each day Bartcop was the icing on the cake. It was sane and amazing. Bart I miss you terribly already. All the way from down-under, mate. This is a very sad day. Your passing will leave a black hole in the internet. I urge readers to send a little something to Mrs Bart to help put food on her family, etc.

Thank you Bart, your page helped me get through the Bush years.

I drink, a shot of Chinaco, to your memory. Your work will never be forgotten.

BartCop has been my home page since the mid 90's and I've been sitting here for hours looking back over the past issues, remembering the laughs, the stickers, Worst Pres Ever poster hanging above my monitor. Remembering the time he actually called me and we chatted for over an hour as if we were old friends even though I never got to meet him in person. I was 'praying' for his recovery even though I am an athiest cause I just couldn't imagine not having his brand of honesty and bravery around anymore. I too, like the others posting here feel like I have lost a true friend, a brother in arms in the war of insanity that passes for life in these divisive times. My thoughts and well wishes go out to Mrs Bart and I raise a shot of Chinaco to the Hammer swinger par excelence. You will be sorely missed. Peace be with you, your pal MadVet.

Like of lot of others have mentioned, Bartcop was one of the first political blogs I went to. The trifecta of Bartcop, Media Whores Online, and Democratic Underground let me know I wasn't alone and helped me keep my sanity during the dark days of the Bush regime from 2002 on. Bart was a shining beacon. Keep swinging the hammer.

Bartcop is the reason I blog or do anything on the internet. I started out as his Vidiot and transformed into one pissed off biker chick. I started my own blog at blogspot and did quite well with it for awhile. Made a few lifelong friends along the way too! As my politics changed, I didn't always agree with the left/right paradigm Terry railed against, but I always appreciated his humor and tenacity. RIP dude. You were a wonder. And Mrs. Bartcop, I cannot imagine what you're going through. My thoughts are with you.

There's only one of you, bro. I am sorry I never had the privilege of meeting, you, but you gave us so much more than could be exchanged over a beer and a shot.

You gave those Bush bastards the cussin' they deserved, and us all hope that smart people like you would help find a way out of that dark place.

The world is worse off without you. I will always remember your sharp wit, your keen observations, your world-class cussing, and your absolutely beautiful humanity.

It feels like I've lost a friend. No day would be complete without some fresh Bart rants.

I'm glad that before he passed, he was able to buy legal weed. I know that meant a lot to him.

I wish he could have stuck around for the 2016 elections. I hope the site is able to continue in some form or another.
