Subject: RE: Gray Davis

Gray Davis wasn't pulled from office because he wanted to pay the bills.
He was pulled from office because he won his re-election.

Barely ten weeks after he won, The Republicans began the effort and really got going when
Darrel Issa (R-San Diego, Car Thief) funded it with $2 million dollars to gather signatures.

Many months later when it finally had the signatures and had passed all the legal hurdles,
the claim was...because he was because he was doing a bad job.
(enron energy crisis, failing Bush economy, and wanting to pay the bills)
 Nobody Special

I can't follow Cali politics from here but I was told the fire started when Davis
increased license plate fees, which is what I was calling "paying the bills."

The way I heard the story, Cali idiots want tons of services AND low taxes.

And let's remember, anti-democracy Arianna was fanning those flames with both hands.

Buchanan: Hitler didn’t want war
He invaded other countries, like Bush, for defensive purposes?

Pat Buchanan is coming under fire for arguing that Hitler didn’t want a European war,
and that World War II could have been avoided if Poland had agreed to hand over Gdansk to Germany.

He even appears to have implied that the Holocaust wouldn’t have happened if the Allied powers hadn’t
guaranteed Poland’s security.   Buchanan wrote:

The German-Polish war (sic) had come out of a quarrel over a town the size of Ocean City, Md., in summer.
Danzig, 95 percent German, had been severed from Germany at Versailles in violation of Woodrow Wilson’s
principle of self-determination. Even British leaders thought Danzig should be returned.

Why did Warsaw not negotiate with Berlin, which was hinting at an offer of compensatory territory in Slovakia?
Because the Poles had a war guarantee from Britain that, should Germany attack, Britain and her empire would
come to Poland’s rescue.

Buchanan followed his assertion that Poland could have prevented the war with an argument
that Hitler was not interested in a broad war to conquer the world.

The GOP will rewrite history unless we stand up and stop them.

You just know Clinton will be painted as the guy who funded Al Qaeda
and Monkey Fuhrer Bush will be the hero who saved America from them.

" Torture and tax cuts saved America."

Subject: Seven of Nine

Hey Bart,

After seeing your website this evening, seeing Jeri Ryan brought back a flood of memories!
I use to work with her dad in Paducah, KY, before I went into the military.

Her dad is a "perfect ass". After my right foot got butchered by Navy doctors and I came home,
this SOB had the never to tell me that there was nothing wrong with me and I shouldn't be parking
in handicap parking. I looked the asshole straight in the eye and told him, "Gee, I guess that 30%
I get from the VA says otherwise doesn't it?!" I told him to "fuck off".
Talk about a half-ass Nazi, this guy was. He seriously thought he was the "shit"!

The hotel had a bar in it called the Silver Saddle and one night she was in there with her "future husband"
Jack Ryan and her mom and dad. Her dad was drunk off of his ass. Anyway, a slow song came on and I
asked her to dance, she was really sweet. Nothing like her old man. I really liked holding her in my arms!
Actually, she was very down to earth, very proper. I do remember her asking me how I knew her dad
and I told her I use to work him at the "Big E". After that, she felt at ease with me.

They moved to California to be close to the grandkids and his daughter.
But, I never forgot about dancing with the future Miss Illinois.

They say this never happens now

Time for health care action
Says Blue Dog Back-Stabber Max Baucus

The Senate's chief Demo-backstabber on health care is indicating it's time to act
and has told his colleagues he won't wait much longer for a Republican compromise.

"I am committed to getting health care reform done — done soon and done right,"
Montana Sen. Max Baucus said in a statement. He is considering making a formal proposal
soon to the small group of Senate negotiators who call themselves the "Bipartisan Six."

Baucus held a nearly two-hour teleconference on Friday with the other five negotiators from
his committee. The group has struggled for months to come up with an acceptable bipartisan bill.

While careful to leave the door open to a long-sought deal, Baucus clearly signaled the time
has come for him to move ahead.

President Barack Obama plans to address a joint session of Congress on Wednesday to
boost health care reform, a key element of his ambitious domestic agenda.

The president, meanwhile, is trying to placate some unhappy House members who fear
he's too eager to compromise with Republicans and conservative Democrats to get a bill.

I LOVE your open letter to Republicans and plan to publicize it like crazy.
However, please correct one error of grammar.
It's "Teddy Kennedy, a man WHOSE boots you were not worthy to lick."
Your fan,

I really dropped the ball this time.
I promise I had no intention of claiming I wote that.

Truth is, I'm not that stupid.
Bartcop.com  is read by dozens.
Any attempt on my part to steal someone else's rant would be uncovered within minutes.

When I ran that, I didn't know it would get hueueueueuege.  (Do I owe Paris Hilton $5?)

It was sent to me without an identified author and I liked it so I ran it, but looking back,
I can see how the way it was presented, one could assume it was mine.

Over the years it's been suggested that I should sometimes write under another name,
perhaps in an attempt to gain "journalistic credibility."

My first reaction to that is "Blow me, I already have more credibility than those
sell-out sons of bitches." ...but the truth is I have no chance of disguising my writing style.

A religious GOP rethug is a train wreck handjob waiting to happen and I call them as I see them.

If I disappeared and someone else showed up screeching about
"the religio-handjobs who steal from the sick and the old,"
I think some people might say, "That sounds like Bartcop."

The guy who wrote the "Fuck you, GOP" rant can't help but ring a familiar tone.
They are lying, cheating, murdering, torturing, democracy-hating, torture-loving sons of bitches
so anyone who tells the truth about them will likely sound something like a typical Bartcop rant.

What Beck and Palin Are Saying

When Beck throws up a graphic of a segmented snake as his project's mascot, or Palin speaks of her native land
as the "sovereign" state of Alaska, they're blowing a kind of dog-whistle for the armed and paranoid who make up
the right-wing, neo-militia "Patriot" movement and the broader "Tea Party" coalition.

The loose affiliation of right-wing groups under the Tea Party umbrella can make it difficult to discern who's truly dangerous,
and who's just an angry blowhard...much of their ideology stems from the states' rights philosophy of the Confederacy in the
Civil War, and sometimes the ideas and symbols of the two wars are drawn together in a tangle of rage.

Some self-described "patriots" take part in the resurgent militia movement, but many do not. However, gun enthusiasts are
rife in their ranks, and many view their role as one of "resistance" to what they see as government encroachment in their lives.

They oppose virtually all forms of taxation and almost anything run by the government.
(Hence, the title of the site run by Grassfire.org known as ResistNet.)

Here are some words and images used by right-wing political and media figures as signals to the birther handjobs, signals
used to organize the throngs against health care legislation, environmental reforms and all things identified with Obama.

1. Snakes!
2. The tree of liberty
3. Patriots
4. Tea Party
5. Sovereign
6. Tenth Amendment
7. Second Amendment
8. Revolution
9. The government

He forgot The Race Factor, but maybe his editor didn't want him to include that.

THIS is the wildfire that Obama is ignoring.

Subject: Van Jones ResignsFIRED After G.O.P. Glenn Beck Criticism

Obama accepted the resignation of his special adviser for environmental jobs after a number of
his past statements became fodder for conservative critics and Republican officials.

The adviser, Van Jones, a controversial and charismatic community organizer and “green jobs” advocate
from the San Francisco Bay Area, signed a petition in 2004 questioning whether the Bush bastards had
allowed the terrorist attacks of September 2001 to provide a pretext for war in the Middle East.

He also used a vulgarity(assholes) to refer to Republicans just before being appointed to his
White House post early this year, and he has publicly supported Mumia Abu-Jamal, who is on
death row for the murder of a Philadelphia police officer.

wow....    "go fuck yourself" cheney....   "torturing suspects" cheney   valerie plame is "fair game" rove ....
Van Jones  ....   medal of freedom winner ?   lol

That's how it works - the GOP screams, "Fuck off, we do what we want," and meanwhile,
the Democrats are busy surrender ing and ther whore media calls us "arrogant.".

Someone needs to explain Bart's Law #2 to Obama.

Any time a person or entity makes a "mistake" that puts extra money (or power)
in their pocket, expect them to make that "mistake" again and again and again.

So, every time the GOP is rude to Obama, he apologizes and changes his course to please them.

Now that they know how easy he caves in, they're going to look for other "unacceptable"
White House staffers and soon Obama will be alone with his wife and kids - maybe the chef.

I forget - who won the last election?

How did Glenn Beck get a veto on Obama employees?

Bart, the Administration gives up on Van Jones because of Glenn Beck. Glenn Beck!! WTF?

It appears to me the White House (and Democrats) are practically in chaos.
They are giving the opposition everything they could want to defeat the policies they were elected to pass!
It seems the whole purpose is no longer 'change we can believe in', or 'changing the way Washington works',
but trying for bi-partisanship at no matter the cost.

Obama's quasi need or desire, to work with and try to please everyone has become an albatross
around the Administration's neck. It could end up sinking him.
If you're going to go down, why not at least go down FIGHTING?

Democrats are looking weak! We had 8 years of Dems looking and acting weak and I am sick of it!
In the meantime.Glenn Beck (and his ilk) becomes even more empowered. He believes he has succeeded.

People are already taking bets on who his next "victim" will be.
Then you have the criticisms of the President's speech to children. Unbelievable!
But we know the speech is not the real issue here.

Racism. Politics. A determined attempt to undermind this presidency.
All this is tied in together.
We have several very real problems, and I am very concerned.

Subject: Obama's statement about keeping your health plan NOT TRUE

President Obama says, "If you like your health care plan you can keep it."
This statement is not true.

When health care reform passes you will no longer be able to buy the kind of health insurance you have now.
For example, if the plan you have now excludes coverage for preexisting conditions, that will go away.
If they have a cap on what they will pay out if you are really sick, that will go away.
If they want to drop you when you are sick or raise your rates so you can't afford it, that will go away as well.
You will no longer be denied life saving procedures by insurance company death panels like you have now.

So when Obama says that you can keep your health plan, don't believe him. He's lying to you.
He's going to force you to get a better plan for less money whether you like it or not.

Gang Rape In West Palm Beach
16 year old pleads guilty, agrees to testify against others

The youngest of four men charged in the bone-chilling rape of a 35-year-old West Palm Beach woman and her
12-year-old son pleaded guilty Wednesday morning.  Avion Lawson, who was 14 when the woman and her son
were gang raped in her apartment in 2007, wants to accept responsibility for his actions, his attorney said.

"My life is fucked."

He has agreed to testify against the three others charged in the rape — (Two were found guilty, third yet to be tried).
However, while his cooperation may win him some points with Marx, there are no guarantees, Winkler admitted.

Lawson, now 16, faces a maximum 11 life sentences plus 50 years, according to sentencing guidelines.
He faces a minimum of 49 years in prison and he could get life in prison.

I know this is dumb question - but why did he and his stupid friends do that?

He left a used condom at the scene.  He had to know he was going to get caught\
so he had to know he was probably going to do some time in prison ...probably a lot of it.

If even you're the most crazed, starved-for-sex idiot ever, was your "fun" worth 49 years in prison?

For 49 years, he's not going to have any kind of normal sex with a woman.
For 49 years, he's not going to have a great steak or a flat screen TV or a nice car.
For 49 years, he's not going to see a beach or a sunset or a live football game.
For 49 years, he's not going to see his friends and family in any meaningful way.

He chose to give all that up and I have to wonder why that doesn't bother him..

This dumbass was 14 when he threw his entire life away for a couple of hours of wilding.

If we could figure out what makes a kid throw his life away, things would be better.

Healthcare didn't have to go this way
 by Joe Conason

Achieving humane and affordable healthcare in America was never going to be easy, even with an audacious
new president and large majorities in both houses of Congress. But the mundane grind of making legislation
need not have been quite as painful as it is today, when progressives feel betrayed, and Democrats feel deflated.

Obama’s problem can be found in an anonymous quote, attributed to a White House official. "It’s so important to get a deal,"
confided the unnamed aide, that the president "will do almost anything it takes to get one." Such desperate confessions of politics
as usual not only serve the president poorly but damage the fresh brand that he brought to Washington after his election last year.
They are the residue of an ill-conceived strategy that has left Obama politically vulnerable, attenuated his connection with loyal
progressives, and blurred his most important message...

For a president who wants reform and change, citizen agitation is an important instrument of power, not an obstacle to deal making.
But Obama surrendered that powerful weapon when he chose aides who prefer lobbyists to activists and adopted a strategy that ranks
bipartisan agreement above policy substance. The telltale remark came from still another anonymous aide who boasted recently that the
White House would welcome a "confrontation" with Democratic liberals over healthcare because it would "show he is willing to stare down
his own party to get things done."

We keep seeing the same thing and I have no idea how to explain it.
The ONLY time Democrats get tough   -   is with each other.

According to this unnamed aide, Obama "would welcome" a chance to stare down his own party,
yet he refuses to stare down the Fascist dogs who are thwarting the will of the people who voted for change.

The worst part?
Obama was THE guy who was going to do things differently.
Obama was THE guy who would finally and certainly bring change,
but his main goal seems to be to get the rabid dogs to like him and they hate his f-ing guts.

The media told us thousands of times about all the new faces Obama brough to politics.
How betrayed will they feel if Obama continues down this road of same-old, same-old??

Mexico’s New Drug Law Makes Sense

Mexico has taken a bold and pragmatic step in how they will deal with the “drug problem” that currently
is being felt in much of the industrialized world. Here are the provisions of the new drug law:

Drug Users: no arrests for personal possession of 1/2 gram of cocaine, 5 grams of marijuana, 50 milligrams of heroin,
40 milligrams of meth, or .15 milligrams of LSD. If caught with less than these amounts the police will give the person
the address of the nearest rehab center and suggest that they visit. Hell, they don’t arrest small-time users anyway,
instead they shake them down for a little bribe money.

Treatment: third time offenders get mandatory treatment

Dealers: Anyone with up to 1,000 times the legal amounts can be arrested by the state police. People with larger
amounts would be deemed to be traffickers and handed over the the Feds. You don’t want to mess with the Feds.

It doesn’t take a genius to see that the never-ending “war on drugs” has been a colossal, expensive failure for over 40 years,
both at home and abroad. The present system has filled the prisons in the US beyond capacity with pot smokers and has
turned Mexico into a country being terrorized by the mighty drug cartels. This ain’t working, and my hat is off to President
Calderon and the Mexican Congress for seeking a new direction.

I offer a shot of Chinaco to the Mexican government for doing what needed to be done.

Subject: Presidential address to school children

Our district is allowing parents to have their kids “opt out” from viewing the President’s address.  (Letter attached)

I don’t get how they can decree that this exception is for this “one endeavor,” and this “one endeavor only.”
How do they know that?  Are they able to see into the future and determine that there will be no other challenges,
no other reasons to make an exception?

Did I mention that we live in an openly gay community?  Lol!
It’s all very mixed here in our town/district, but our school board is right-wing whacko nuts!!!

Everyone is starting to sound like Glenn Beck!  How the hell did this happen?
They’re all going over the deep end.
Give me strength.
 Lisa, Ballet Mom in PA

Lisa, I have a theory about this:

Obama is on the ropes, and like a good boxer, the Rethugs are pounding him.
This talking-to-the-kids is a smokescreen - it's just the latest excuse to pummel him.

They're going to pound him until he fights back.
They're testing him to see where his breaking point is.

Once Obama does fight back, they will feign outrage and say,
"We had no idea that the president was capable of this much anger.
We wonder if he's fit to govern with his uncontrollable rage.
Is Obama mentally capable of running the country and the free world?"

It was a blunder to say, in effect, "No matter how mean you are, I won't get angry."

It's like several years ago, when Britney Spears said she was a virgin.
We all knew it wouldn't last, and now Obama's in the same corner.

If he'd shown some normal temper and some normal fight
we wouldn't be watching the GOP push him and push him and push him.

The first time he shows even a sliver of anger, they''ll call him Eric Harris.

opportunity to press a partisan political agenda on impressionable young minds..."

So the article admits these people have no idea what he will say, but they are sure it will be something partisan?
This "Many conservative parents" - is it what?  10 people?  In a crowd of 3, 2 is 'many', all things being relative...

Subject: Reaction to Obama’s school speech is tragic, sinister and sickening

I could understand it if these folk were worried about the H1N1 ("swine flu") virus, but that’s not their concern.

i could understand it if these folk were worried that Idiot Bush was giving the speech

I would find it laughable if it were not so tragic, so sinister and so sickening.

"It appears to be nothing short of training our children to support Obama policies," the she-thing said.
"When the recruits are children, doesn’t that constitute indoctrination, even brainwashing?"

With nixon reagan and widiot in the white house.... those are the good role models?   OMG!!

Every Demo surrender makes the next Rethug victory easier.

"Can you hear us?"

"We hate health care and niggers!"

Sick and Wrong
How Washington is screwing up HC reform

First, they gave away single-payer before a single gavel had fallen, apparently as a bargaining chip to the very insurers
mostly responsible for creating the crisis in the first place. Then they watered down the public option so as to make it
almost meaningless, while simultaneously beefing up the individual mandate, which would force millions of people now
uninsured to buy a product that is no longer certain to be either cheaper or more likely to prevent them from going bankrupt.

The bill won't make drugs cheaper, and it might make paperwork for doctors even more unwieldy and complex than it is now.
In fact, the various reform measures suck so badly that PhRMA, the notorious mouthpiece for the pharmaceutical industry
which last year spent more than $20 million lobbying against health care reform, is now gratefully spending more than seven
times that much on a marketing campaign to help the president get what he wants.

Interesting article, but it's by Matt Taibbi, who is the Left's Glenn Beck (not a compliment).

"Van's colleagues SHOULD have fought for him. The entire Obama administration SHOULD have fought for him.
But they didn't. Instead they cow-towed to a screeching, frequently weeping, mostly lying, dry-drunk who
hallucinates false images on buildings and calls our first Black president a racist."

Obama gave his lunch money to the bully on Monday.
Why does he think he's going to keep Tuesday's lunch money?

We were told he was street-smart, growing up in rough-and-tumble South Chicago.
Is that why he's so skinny?    Becuse he never got to eat lunch?

Subject: 35M on food stamps

I'm not counted among that 35 million on food stamps.  I'm a retired firefighter, living on an $837 a month
Social Security stipend and a $33 a month SSP allowance from the State of California.  When I first went on SS,
that SSP grant from the state was $127 so not being able to get food stamps because of it wasn't a big deal.

Now that Schwarzenegger and his Yacht Party cronies have f**ked up California beyond any hope for repair,
it's down to $33 a month and guess what?  I'm STILL not entitled to food stamps because of it.

Thank God for ramen noodles, eh?
 Tom the Firefighter

Tom, sorry to hear you're going thru that.

Some people say all of our budget troubles began in California with those idiot "Initiatives" that said,
"We want to go to Disneyland every day and not have to pay for it."

When you put Free Candy on the ballot, it's gonna pass.

Appeasing-the-Insane Quotes

"Fox News screaming head Glenn Beck now tells Obama to fire White House employees, and Obama obeys.
While Obama presumably believes obedience will cause Beck to like him and begin praising him, Beck is building
a list of additional people whose heads he will demand and denouncing Obama as hiding vast secrets by having
complied with the demand to fire Van Jones."

"Van Jones is the tip of the iceberg."

Who couldn't see this coming - besides Obama?

Somehow, we need to get word to Obama that constant surrender is a bad thing.

...who has the president's ear.

Appeasing-the-Insane Quotes

"If Jones left under pressure from Obama then we are in for a very long and painful four years."

That's not even open to interpretation, is it?
Beck screamed, Obama heard him, and Jones is gone.

"I would hate to think that Glenn Beck can simply shout down
any member of the administration he chooses to target."
-- Melissa Harris Lacewell, a political science professor at Princeton,    Link

"I'm heartbroken over Van’s departure. You get folks all riled up about change. You empower
a man who embodies that change. And they let him be run out of office by fucking Glenn Beck?
So Glenn Beck is running the White House now?  Did I knock on all those doors for nothing?
When will Obama learn that you can't negotiate with terrorists?"

It's hard to do parody when you can see the real thing
just by turning on any radio, television or computer.

Sports Weekend

Eldrick throws club after bad shot
Then he makes his caddy go fetch it

If he throws a club and hits some kid or old woman
the victim would probably get a real nice house out of the deal.

Sooners lose QB, Game
Heisman winner Bradford's return uncertain

Oklahoma's medical staff was still taking a look a treatment options for Bradford on Sunday.
The injury to Bradford's right, throwing shoulder has been called a sprained AC joint.

Four days before he was hurt, Bradford said he'd taken out an insurance policy
after he decided to pass up the chance to be a first-round pick in this year's
NFL draft and instead pursue a national championship at Oklahoma.

That was smart - getting that insurance policy.
It's possible he'll never throw another football.

Reality TV guy wins for Dallas Cowboys
...and that ruined my whole weekend

...and did you see that great Miami/Florida State game?

It seemed like every other play went for 40 yards.

Subject: why are they so afraid?

All the right-wing blowhards keep talking about how afraid they are of...well...just about anything the Obama administration wants to do.
Why are they so afraid?  Why should the country listen to such scaredy-cats?  Perhaps the "progressive blogosphere" should remind people
over and over that these loudmouths are just shooting off their mouths while they piddle in their pants!

Funny, they had no problem with Bush reading My Pet Goat during the worst attack since Pearl Harbor,

but now "that Black guy" wants to talk to my kid with his "nigger ideas?"  No way!
