It truly is a sad day. I want to say thank you for giving me and all of us a little light at the end of the long dark tunnel of the Bush years.

I'm crying inside and a little bit out. In a world where everyone's tearing apart, Bart did something to keep us together. Long live Bart.

Wow, I'm in shock. My condolences to his family and friends.
I first discovered Bartcop in the 90s (that long ago). Can't say I was a regular reader lately, but I usually checked the site around election season.
Bart, you will be missed!
I kicked some money over to Mrs. Bart. RIP and keep hammerin' in the afterlife.

My god!!! This comes as an awful surprise. I have been frequenting this page since 2002. It has always been one of the first websites I visit on a daily basis. It helped keep me sane knowing people like Bart were out there!!!
Though I never met you you will be missed greatly!!!

Bart was a straight-shooting, clear-speaking, American Hero in the vein of Thomas Paine. A big heart has gone out of the world...and it is at least gratifying to know so many felt the same. He was a rock of sanity and wit in a world gone mad. His 'tasteful' girly pics cracked me up. You are missed, Bart. Mrs. Bart....I'm just so extremely sorry....I can say that my hubs died young decades ago...you will never forget...ever

I always enjoyed reading your site, Bart. Your passion for peeling back the wall of BS that politicians erect around themselves showed through. We're all just pawns to them. At least, thanks to you, we knew it.

You will be missed. Not enough brave souls left to hammer against the constant stream of disinformation with wit & humor. Tonight I raise my glass to the darkening sky in memory Bart & what he stood for.

What a sad, sad day for me. It's great to see all the tributes. I hope the archive of pages stays up forever. We're all going to need them. The radio shows, too. As to where to go from here, if anywhere--let's just breathe for a bit.

Thank you Bart for being my daily cup of truth. When I had no other time to catch up, yours was the one site I visited. We may not have always agreed, but you were reliable source of bullshit free info and humor. More than that, you were always consistent. The interwebs grew arrogant under your watch. Thanks for reminding us that the power was and should always remain a smart mouth, a modem, and the truth.
Think of you w/ every shot of Chinaco buddy. Keep swingin' that Hammer.
