I hope it there's an afterlife barts sipping on some fine tequila and hammering some idiot republikan with the big hammer. Bart will be missed.

Bart, thank you for all the years of priceless laughter and inspiration. If you see Jesus, please ask him to come back and spank his worshippers until they agree to follow his path.

Bartcop and DU where my entry level drug of political commentary. Without Bart, there is no Daily Kos, Atrios or the plethora of other Blogosphere to speak of.

Rest in peace Bart and meet the Chimp at the gates of Heaven with a hammer!

I'm not sure what to say. Bartcop was a bright moment in my day. It's like loosing a friend on some level.

I will raise a toast tonight to honor him and his.

i don't remember how I stumbled across BartCop, but it was an island of sanity for me in an ocean of political craziness. Of course I refer to the Bush years. I laughed, I raged, and now, I cry for the loss of a good man. My sincere condolences to the Mrs. We all knew that he loved you. Thanks, Bartman, for the memories.

Damn! Damn! and Double Damn! Why is it that the Good People die before their time and the Rotten Bastards seem to live forever?
I found BartCop back when he first started in 1996 and was honored that he published some of my screed on his website back in those early days. He gave voice to a lot of us out there who were frustrated and he will most definitely be missed.

I always enjoyed the irreverence of Bart. He pulled no punches and I appreciated that. I didn't have a subscription, but I used the Paypal button to send a little something to help out. Rest in peace, Bart.

So sorry for your loss; his effort and sense of humor was a ray of sunshine in the dark years since November, 2000.

I am very sad to hear that the great Bartcop has departed this world. There were days where I would check two, three, hell ten times to see if the page had an update yet. Bartcop's page was the best that I knew.

My deepest sympathy to Mrs. Bartcop, family and kitties.

Too hard to fathom the loss, but my deepest thanks for the last 8 years of brutal honesty and satire. We will keep the hammer swinging and hitting the target, straight and true.
