Ol' Bart was the sanest man I knew, and I only know him thru his website, but he'll be irreplaceable. He deserves the Medal Of Freedom award, or some such. His clarity and reasoning was unparallelled. I'd love to have seen him on Colbert! Very, very sad day, indeed. Thanks for getting us thru Bush/Cheney, Bart. You definitely left your mark!

I've been reading bartcop.com since I first discovered that he had posted an editorial I wrote in Minnesota proposing that it was time for Ashcroft to investigate Enron's ties to the government. I've been a reader ever since. He swung the hammer hard. He will be missed.

Bart I started reading your page in 1996. I was so impressed at the humor you used to fight the right wing that I wrote you my first and so far only fan letter.

I think I can speak for all your fans when I say that you have a unique and inimitable style that keeps us coming back.
