Obama stalls in polling
Why isn't he doing better against Bush's third term?

 Link

 Excerpt:
In the two months since Obama captured the Democratic nomination, he has hit a ceiling in
public opinion polling, proving unable to make significant gains with any segment of the voters.

While Obama still leads in most matchups with McCain, his apparent stall in the polls is a
sobering reminder to Democrats intoxicated with his campaign's promises to expand the
electoral map beyond the boundaries that have constrained other recent party nominees.

That gap between expectations and reality comes as Democrats enjoy the most favorable political winds
since at least 1976. At least eight in ten Americans believe the nation is on the wrong track. Fuhrer Bush
is historically unpopular. From stunning Democratic gains in party registration to economic anxiety,
Obama should have a healthy lead by almost every measure. Yet, in poll after poll, Obama fails to cross
the 50-percent threshold.

I'm nervous about this election - maybe you should be, too.

Quotes

"In January 2004, Obama declared that it was time "to end the embargo with Cuba"
because it had "utterly failed in the effort to overthrow Castro." But speaking to a
Cuban-American audience in Miami in August 2007, he said he would not "take off
the embargo" as president because it is "an important inducement for change."
       -- Willium Blum,    Link

Some people will probably take this as an attack on Obama, but he's changed his position
on so many issues, it's easier to list the issues on which he hasn't changed his mind.
He told us 1,000 times that he was a different kind of guy, not like the others, and how
important it was to stand for something - then he flip-flops on almost every issue.

Obama sees the embargo as "an important inducement for change?"
JFK issued that embargo 46 years ago - so what "inducement" does Obama see?

On the other hand, I want him to win, even if he has to be a whore about it.

The Death of Republican America
 Wishful thinking by Sidney Blumenthal

 Link

 Excerpt:
Despite the daily tracking polls, the underlying story of the 2008 presidential campaign remains the
Bush presidency and how it brought about the end of the long era of Republican political dominance
that began in 1968 with the election of Richard Nixon.

The Republican Party has fallen farther behind the Democratic Party in party identification and favorable
ratings than it has in decades. Democrats are poised to make dramatic gains in their numbers in the
House of Representatives and the Senate.  (I wonder why he didn't include the White House?)

Bush, "The Decider," was the implementer of complementary radical plans for an imperial presidency
and a one-party government to be ruled for generations by Republicans. But Bush's fiascos, were the
culmination of Republican ideology and have unraveled Republican strengths built up over 40 years.

We all know Bush has been the worst president ever, so why is Obama just ahead by a few points?

I believe the Bradley Effect is real, so we need to be ahead by at least ten points to win.
Why are voters not flocking to Obama in bigger numbers?

Torturer Scolds China on Human Rights

 Link

 Excerpt:
Bound for playtime in China, Fuhrer Bush (R-Torture) is carrying a message of deep concerns
about the state of human rights in China and urging them to allow political freedoms for its citizens
even tho Fuhrer Bush doesn't allow Americans those same political freedoms.

"America stands in firm opposition to China's detention of political dissidents, human rights advocates
and religious activists," Bush said with a straight face. "We speak out for a free press, freedom of assembly
and labor rights - not to antagonize China's leaders, but because trusting its people with greater freedom
is the only way for China to develop its full potential," said Bush, without a trace of irony in his voice.

Ain't that a bitch? The world's most famous pirate/kidnapper/torturer and giggling murderer tells China
to treat its own citizens better while Fuhrer Bush has his goons kidnap people in other countries
so he can masturbate to their torture videos.

 Subject: where's the money going?

Bart...

You keep asking that question: "Where's the money going?"

Have you noticed we've had two "redesigns" of our money?  After that the amount
of previous bills seem to be a lot less and the market is flooded with quite ugly new bills?

Put that together with pallet loads of money for corrupt contractors, bribes to factions to
stop fighting, and stop killing our troops to make sure we can claim the  surge is "working..."
at least until we STOP bribing them...

Does that help answer your question?

Is impeachment still off the ^%$#@! table?

WTF does it take? Or is impeachment only for Democrats, Nancy?

Obama fighting too soft for some
Democrats wonder if his heart's in this fight

 Link

 Excerpt:
McCain's constant personal attacks against Obama have raised worries among Democratic strategists
-- haunted by Kerry the Quitter's pitiful 2004 dive and Al Gore's razor-thin loss in 2000 -- that Obama
has not responded in kind with a parallel assault on McCain's character. Interviews with nearly a dozen
Democratic strategists found those concerns to be widespread, although few wished to be quoted by
name while Obama's campaign is demanding unity.

"Democrats are worried," said Tad Devine, a top strategist for Kerry who thinks Obama must stay on
the high road. "We've been through two very tough elections and it's very easy to lose confidence."

So far, said MoveOn's Eli Pariser, the best response to McCain's celebrity attack has come from
Paris Hilton, who released her an ad calling McCain "the oldest celebrity in the world, like super old."

So, Paris Hilton is the best player on our team?
What does that say about our situation?

I remember in 2004, when Kerry sat there and let Bush pee all over him, everyone said
"Kerry is a great closer - he'll come back strong towards the end," but he just sat there.

Is Obama, like Kerry, betting on the intelligence of the voters to see thru McCain's bullshit?
Obama raises around $50M a month - why isn't he using that money more effectively?

If I was on Obama's ad team, Democrats wouldn't be wringing their hands,
wondering why our candidate was being polite and holding back.

Military trial acquits Osama's driver
But he's convicted of a lesser charge

 Link

 Excerpt:
The US kangaroo military court has everything - shifting charges, secret testimony - and quick verdicts.

Salim Hamdan, found innocent of two charges of conspiracy, held his head in his hands and appeared to weep
Wednesday as the all-white military jury declared him guilty of "aiding terrorism," which could bring a life sentence.

Deputy White House spokesliar Tony Fratto, called this abortion of justice "a fair trial" and said prosecutors
will now proceed with other just-as-fair trials trials of Afghani goat herders at Bush's Gitmo Torture Center.
Prosecutors intend to kangaroo about 80 goat herders for war crimes, including 19 already "charged."

Jesus, it's a good thing the Founding Fathers are all dead.
Secret charges, secret evidence, secret witnesses - it's everything they vowed to avoid.

'Lucky' for us Bush knew the Constitution was worthless, and for the goat herders who happened
to be standing there when the Pentagon goons were offering $5,000 in cash to anyone who could
point out "Al Qaeda" - that's some sorry-ass bad luck.

Under Bush, standing there without proof you're not "Al Qaeda" means a death sentence.

Subject: McSame and farmers

Dear Bart,

How many farmers live in Oklahoma?  McCain wants to get rid of help to farmers.
He is against farm subsidies of any kind.  How is that gonna play where you live?

I can hardly wait until the farmers in Colorado get wind of this.
They traditionally vote Republican just cuz of their conservative roots.
But why vote against yourself???
Kat

Kat, Okies always vote against their own self interests.

Years ago, our senator/whore Don Nichols led the fight for billionaires
to get massive tax cuts and these dumb Okies were allllll behind that.
How many billionaires do you think live in Oklahoma?

Same for trent Lott and Mississippi - how many super-rich people live there?
But for some reason, these broke-ass farmers want Bill Gates and Barbara Streisand
to have even more millions, so they vote against their own damn pocketbook.
Voters are stupid, stupid, stupid.

Hell, the poor refuse to vote themselves a raise - how stupid are people?

Democrats refuse to list the reasons why people should vote for them.
Sometimes I think Democrats are as stupid as the dumb-ass voters.

Where is Obama's Big Lead?

 Link

 Excerpt:
Where's Obama's massive lead in the polls? Democrats score higher than Republicans on generic polls.
Nonetheless, Obama has failed to pull convincingly ahead of McCain, and some polls show them even.

The far-left Democrats nominated a charismatic unknown, who has turned out not to be ready for
primetime politics. Why can't Obama hold on to a credible lead in the polls? Because the Democrats
nominated an off-the-charts liberal and the United States is a moderate-to-conservative nation.
As he changes positions seeking the support of independents and alienated Republicans this fall,
he turns off the far-left base that got him the nomination in the first place.

Granted, it's too soon to panic, buit when is the right time to panic?
September 15th?
October 1st?

There's still time to turn things around, but when will he start?

Mary-Kate off the hook

 Link

 Excerpt:
Federal prosecutors have decided not to pursue a criminal case into how Heath Ledger
obtained the drugs that killed him earlier this year, a law enforcement official said Wednesday.
Prosecutors bowed out "because they don't believe there's a viable target," said the official.

The decision comes after Mary-Kate Olsen demanded immunity before answering questions.
She was the first person called by a masseuse who found the actor's lifeless body.

Two thoughts:

1- This is just a wild guess, but say you and me are at a wild Hollywood party.
A big star drops by with some "great stuff" and we all do a toot and Heath says,
"Sweet - can I buy an ounce?" and he disappears with Mary-Kate into another room.

Thirty minutes later Heath loses consciousness, so - wouldn't your first, second and third
phone call be to the big star to ask, "What the fuck was in that powder?"

2- Did you know Mary-Kate has money out the wazoo?
I saw something years ago that the Olsen twins had a billion dollars.
I'm lying, it wasn't really a billion, but it was like 900 million dollars.

Tell me - can you get a good lawyer if you have $900M?

Sidebar:
I really doubt Mary-Kate killed the poor guy, but why can't she talk?
If her friend supplied the drugs, why did she need immunity?
If some guy named "Lou" supplied the drugs, why did she need immunity?

If there's no evdience that you committed a crime, why would you demand immunity?
And why is the person demanding immunity not considered a "viable target?"

It's the biggest theft in Earth's history.

4,134 families have been destroyed
