Bart:

Your righteous indignation, your greatly earned humor and ability to take on all challengers with a sardonic smile, and your ceaseless labor to "hammer" out a solid wall against the forces of greed, will all be greatly missed.

Hope you're now residing in a glorious Big Blue State, with a prime seat at the Tequila Bar.

Mrs. Bart, my sincerest condolences; your lesser half was one hell of a fighter, and we were all better for having received his wisdom every weekday.

Extremely sad to see this day come. I first stumbled on Bartcop way back in the days of the Lewinsky 'scandal', when the web was still in its early days. It was like nowhere else online and I was hooked. Amazing the way the guy kept the treehouse going all these years like this. A unique little corner of the internet that will never be forgotten. Rest in peace dude, you were a true warrior. I will now embark on a journey through the recent political history of America as I revisit the back pages and remember a guy I never met but still considered a true friend. Sincere condolences to all of you and to Mrs Bart. I will be making her a donation in memory of all of Bart's tireless hammer-swinging over the years and encourage everyone else to do the same. And now to light one in his honor - it's what he would have wanted.

RIP Bart.
You fought the good fight, but you'll be hammering with the Gods now (say "hi" to John Bonham for me).
Thanx for keeping me sane...

I can no longer recall how I stumbled across Bart's page back in the old dial-up days when it was titled RL-LNW, but I will never forget being instantly charmed by his pithy, salty wit. While my passion for politics has waned considerably since then, I would visit the page every month or so, as Bart was my barometer in the world of politics, whether I agreed with him or not.

I hope that he is greeted in the hereafter by angels bearing gifts of Chinaco and "God's flowers" to an accompaniment of Garbage tunes.

Dear Mrs. Bart, I hope that so very many of us sharing your sadness can lighten the weight of your grief in some small measure.
