"The church has a profound need to relearn penance, to accept purification, to learn on the one hand
forgiveness but also the necessity of justice. And forgiveness does not substitute justice ...
We have to relearn these essentials: conversion, prayer, penance."
-- Benny the Rat, trying to get away with something,   Link

No Benny, you and your henchmen need to learn how to use the phone.

When a priest gets caught raping a child, you need to call the police and say,
"Yep, we have another one - come get the son of a bitch."

That bullshit about "relearning penance" is nothing but weasel words
that a criminal uses when he intends to continue his raping of kids.

God is watching - and each time you throw a rape complaint in the trash
God puts another mortal sin mark on your blackened soul, preparing your eternity in Hell.

(Of course that's all crappola, but IF he believes it...)

Ouch! You're carrying an ad for Pat Toomey??

"Republican Senate candidate Pat Toomey defended his support for Arizona's new, controversial,
anti-illegal immigration law on Thursday, adding that Arizona law enforcement officials need to be
careful that they "'implement its law without civil liberties abuses.'"

"Pat Toomey gained the endorsement of the Independence Hall Tea Party PAC Sunday."
Should I continue?

I have no control over those Google ads.
They promised they'd only run Lefty ads but they screw up constantly.

Teabagger Trouble Quotes

"Sen. Bob Bennett's weekend loss in Utah has officeholders of both parties (Horseshit) concerned about
the deepening anti-incumbent mood heading into the fall midterms. Bennett may be the first of many sitting
lawmakers to fall in primaries...Bennett lost in Utah largely because of its unique convention system, dominated
by party activists, which denied him a spot on the primary ballot. Had the general Utah Republican electorate
had its say Bennett might very well have survived."
-- David Mark, senior big shot at Politico,     Link

The Teabaggers are just right-wing Rethugs with poor spelling.
They're out to lynch every Rethug to the Left of Hermann Goering, which is fine by me.

Democrats don't have that "screw them all" fever that plagues the hard right.
Of course, Dems could panic like schoolgirls and lose the farm, anyway.

"If they truly want more bipartisanship, they are going about it the wrong way. These so called "new senators"
are going to be more partsian than before and the logjam in Congress will be even greater. Republicans have a
history of replacing those who are not conservative enough with those even further to the right.  Republicans are
going to drive the voters to either the Democrats or to the independent movement. The Republicans don't seem
to realize what they're doing to their own party."
       -- Jim Scott,     Link

"28% of Republicans said the recent oil spill in the Gulf made them MORE LIKELY to support
drilling off the coast. They're not just staying the course in the face of this disaster, the disaster is
actually convincing them that we should do more drilling."
      -- Public Policy Poll,    Link

If the Democrats had any brains (Should I bother to finish this sentence?) they would get
every rethug on the record, on video right now, saying they support offshore drilling more than ever.

Then, when that oil slick sours every beach from Padre Island to Hilton Head,
all the Democrats have to do is run the footage of the oil whores selling out.

It's so easy, children could do it.

So why can't our Democrats be as smart as children?

"That's how it works with them: Abstinence-only not working? More of it!
Magical thinking not working? Pray harder!
Tea-baggery not changing enough policy? Get more extreme!
It's a pattern with them...If what they're doing isn't working, they aren't doing enough of it."

Subject: oil spill experience

Hi Bart,

Back in the early 90s, I worked for PR firm in Washington.
One of our clients was the Marine Spill Response Corporation (MSRC).
MSRC was set up in response to the regulations implemented after the Valdez disaster.
Congress briefly insisted that the oil companies have some means of containing and
cleaning up spills - so they pooled resources and set up MSRC.

And it worked a treat.  It was well equipped, staffed and trained. It had the people and tools
to quickly contain and clean up spills. The only problem was that it cost a bundle. It's damned
expensive to keep ships and crews and equipment on standby in the event that a spill might happen.
MSRC had crews in lots of places ready to go - as they were required to do by law.

Until the Republican Revolution of 1994.

Once Gingrich and co took control in Washington, the rules that forced the creation
of MSRC were among the first to be repealed. MSRC was shut down overnight.

The MSRC teams could have contained the Deepwater spill within days if not hours.
But, as Palast notes, oil companies like BP are bloody cheap.

Keep Swinging,

If only we could get the Democrats to list the facts..

"Why list the facts?  What would the advantage be?"

We seem to be dragging our way out of this tax-cuts-for-the-super-rich recession.
People who have been doing without might be starting to spend money again.

I'm offering a year's worth of banner ads on  for just  $1200.

That's much less than $4 a day - a great deal compared to the usual low price of $30 a day.
